Me too! It happens though, and you just deal with it. Most of the time it can be fixed or wait until port. A weird noise at night can be the most frustrating!!
Gosh ! The reason why I wanna keep things simple ! HR is dfinitely a top notch cruise saiing boat. But all these gizmos will give way, never at the same time, and you'll spend your life in yards wishing they are competent in fixing what has to be fixed. Keep it simple is the best way I think.
good thing you recorded this. That's a lot of valves, breakers, disconnect switches, pumps etc to remember from one walk through. I hope detail locations are also in a manual too.
Great video, looking forward to future content. I’ve been researching the HR44 and 40c, along with other manufacturers too. Will be following your future upgrades and adventures!
Hi Thomas. I didn't see the galvanic isolator in the video. Do you know where it is? I'll look at your deck tour video. Maybe it's in the cockpit locker, right next to where the power cable input is. Thanks. Edit: OK, I see there's two Mastervolt boxes in the cockpit locker. One looks like the galvanic isolator. And the other one?
I believe so. Unfortunately, I’m not with Breezy at the moment. I sent a message to Ludvig and will get back to you when I hear back. I’m enjoying your videos!
@@SailingSnowGum Your galvanic isolators (Mastervolt Mass GI 7.0) are in the cockpit locker. Next to the shore power inlets. One for the shore power and one for the AC
@@sailinghaldis Hi Thomas. Thanks for your reply on the galvanic isolators. I was wondering why there were two Mastervolt boxes in the cockpit locker .. the AC of course. Re our videos, yeah, we had lots of fun making those. Here's one you'll need to study, in case the black-box MDI on the port side of your engine fails. The engine could simply die and stop for no reason - a classic sign that the MDI has failed. We had this happen just before a Force 9 Full Gale hit in the middle of the Bristol Channel. Eek! Wow, what a boat, congratulations! I've been a HR admirer for many years. The detailed walkthrough was great and so detailed. I was wondering about one thing though, with all those systems and through hulls did you ever consider putting labels outside the compartment so you can remember which system or valve is under which floor hatch? Under the stress of an emergency I could see myself forgetting where such and such was.
Thank you. 😊 I’ve been living aboard for two months now and know where everything is for the most part. I just had a situation at 12:00am at anchor. Bilge alarm went off. I drained it, and it kept refilling. I opened every compartment looking for water which is what you would expect to do in that situation. Labels outside the compartments may not be as helpful as you think. Once inside the hatches…everything is labeled.
Hi. HR has soul. It's like Harley Davidson in motorcycles IMHO ;). Congratulations on your purchase. I have a question. Is it possible to build pipes and cables into cabinets at the production stage so that they are not visible?
It’s watertight below the level of the bunk but above the waterline. In the event of a hit to the bow causing the bow compartment to flood, that bulkhead should prevent boat from sinking. Imagine a hole the size of a baseball. The bow compartment is allowed to flood but not the rest of the boat. It only floods up to or slightly above the waterline of the boat.
Very true. Getting to the Mediterranean, center cockpit was quite secure and comfortable. Once we arrived, the layout is a bit less convenient. The bow and stern deck areas are spacious and provide nice areas to lay out and roam. The swim platform is very Med-Friendly for access to the water and dinghy. Thanks for watching !
I’m probably going to be doing a price video at some point in the future where I go through the order form line by line. I bought new purely for the experience and the desire to have brand new components under warranty. It’s an expensive premium to pay, but gave me a successful and relatively problem free experience this summer. You could save quite a bit by going to the used market. I can tell you they are still beautiful at 10 to 20 years old because most owners care so well for them.
Unfortunately, you’re correct. The bolts are deep in the bilge and not super accessible I’m afraid. I do trust the hull. It’s extremely tough with modern glass layup. Bolts, flat hull.. I could do without. I’m currently about 2200 miles in my trip from the factory. I will be doing a deeper dive on some other aspects of this newer HR.
Je suis dans un port en ce moment et les toilettes manuelles à l’avant du bateau ont un problème d’aspiration d’eau et les toilettes mécaniques sont toujours parfaites. 🙆🏻♂️
What did I get out of this video? Definitely record your walkthrough of a new vessel. All of this information will be invaluable to refer to as you’re getting used everything and more familiar with the systems. Also, is viewers can see the quality and attention to detail the company has for their product.
@@sailinghaldis congrats on your beautiful yacht. I am just saying HR should have figured out a way to have systems less scattered. HR fantastic boats.
Can you elaborate? I actually find the construction to be impeccable. I sailed 3200NM much of it in some pretty ugly upwind conditions and everything held together. Wood work is still like new with very few creaks, doors and cabinets and hand holds all solid.
Best built cruising blue water sailboat in the world by far!
Congratulations with your purchase and many years ahead of pleasure and joy!
Many thanks 😊
I love the quality of construction. I shiver at the complexity of solving a problem in the middle of an ocean.

Fantastic video and what a great boat. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much! 😊
A wonderful boat! HR:s really have that extra to them. Congratulations 👍
In addition to the construction, the customer service after purchase has been impeccable.
Congratulations guys . How exciting to pick up a new HR . Fair winds to you .

Agree completely. They do have five large binders with all the manuals and tactical drawings, but this is much better I think.
gorgeous boat, congrats!

Question about the forward "watertight " area under the v birth.
How can it be watertight when their are vent holes in the boards under the bunks?

Hr is for ocean crossing generally, for Aegeanand Mediterranean sea center cockpit is not necessary

the condensation on the hatches is something else .the air circulation must be atrocious . that yacht will be a breeding ground for mold .
