Any tricks to plugging the new cable into the dolphin? I got the old cord out but new one doesn’t go in far enough to screw it on.

Hi, you just have to push, there are no tricks.

You may have the same problem as me. The new cable they ordered and sent me has two males but is missing the female hole. Essentially not allowing it to be pushed further down. The older one, has two males on the cable end but also a female hole allowing it to go over the top of the male counterpart built on the vacuum. Since the new cable doesn’t have the female hole, it will not work since it’s only two wires. I knew I should have ordered the part myself. Haha

@@WaaayPastBed Hi, I don't think I understand the problem well. Can you send me some photos and the order number on our website? This way I will be able to help you by understanding what you purchased.

I came to this video with the same question.
I got it. I swapped out the o-ring and used the existing, lots of silicone lube, and push down hard until the threads engage.
If you're in doubt, remove the o-ring and confirm that the connector fits without it installed.

The small round board on the swivel joint was shorted, burned out. I replaced the cable, it worked once and stopped. Read the cable and again one pin was open. What could be causing the short? I have a new motor.

I’m noticing different part numbers for different cables. How do you know which cable goes to your cleaner?

I have to replace my dolphin cable and when I removed the old connector at the body the connector was coated with something that looks like grease of some type. Any ideas ? I’m sure it is to ensure it is waterproof.

Well good video, mine is the E10 and I am completely disappointed and feel robbed by the manufacturer; that cable tangles in the water and do not let the cleaner work efficiently; they recommend to extend it in the sun but that does not works I watch painfully as the cable just wind into itself. The vacuum is useless with such a screwed up cable they use and there is no solution for this other than get rid of it. I feel feel suing the company!

I'm sorry about what happened to you. This robot model is suitable for small above ground pools with a flat bottom where the cable does not get twisted.
If you have problems with the cable you can mount the anti-kink one: www.zavattishop.com/en/maytronics-99958906-diy-18m-swivel-floating-cable-for-dolphin-e40i-robot.html

Something that doesn't completely solve the problem--but makes it a lot better--is to string a rope across the middle of your pool, sort of like segregating a swimming area from a diving area. Run the cord from the power supply, over the rope, then down into the water to the cleaner. For tangle-free performance, you would ideally want the power supply over the center of the pool, but that's not feasible. Running the cord over a rope is fairly close to this.

@@steveprice5664 this could be a good idea but the best solution is the swivel cable.

    • @fireyourrocketts

@@steveprice5664 I resolved it now by running the cord inside a 25 ft pool vacuum hose, the inly tangled part is the little section of cord from the end of the hose to the Dolphin; now it reach all corners, still have to run it several times but no more tangling; that cord and the way it is made just sucks and cheapens the vacuum; I have always felt robbed with it, mixed feelings of it and some satisfaction sometimes; lets not forget the super fine cartridge is an extra almost $100.00! for what they charge we should not have to be writing here trading ideas
