Great video. Thank you for gradually increasing the power, instead of going from 0-to-max instantly. Your method allowed me to actually do a thrust vs. power graph. :)
Great video! I am a bit of a beginner but want to build my own thrust testing rig and I was wondering why the pivoting arm is used instead of just attaching the motor to the top of the scale, perhaps for stability? Also, this may be obvious, but I was just wondering if you put the propellers on the motor upside down so the force is directed downward at the scale.
A 3 phase brushless motor has the following values. The maximum current drawn from the battery is 4.62 amps.. The thrust is 4025 grams with a three-bladed fan 18 * 8.. The speed at the maximum lifting force is 2780 rpm. The battery voltage is 23.46 volts. How much is the output power? How much is the efficiency?
Dear Sir, If the thrust of motor is tested horizontally. Would thrust be the same when we use it for vertical flying? An Rc plane engine states that it has static thrust of 23.5kg at 1800 meters. Does that mean straight upward from ground? The question what I'm trying to ask is: if the thrust is calculated horizontally, would it be same straight up vertically?
Hi! Good question! Yes, the thrust would be basically the same both horizontally and vertically (of course, other factors like propeller type, air density, airframe drag and battery type would make a difference). I'm not sure about the "1800 meters" specification, Is that for a brushless motor or a gas/nitro engine?
Very interesting ... I am a newbie and maybe everything I say here may not make sense ... it seems to me that the motor is turning to the right (cw) when you look from above ... and the propeller (see in 4:19 ) is like a spoon ... therefore the propeller pushes against the balance (OK) ... if for some reason the direction of the motor changes (ccw) ... that arm holding the motor will swing on the pivot ... A highly dangerous situation. You must put some restriction that prevents something like this from happening. Question...If you design the contraption for a tractor motor combination ... will it be more efficient? ... so this motor and propeller combination ... will produce more thrust? Thanks!!!
Hi. You are correct in that there is nothing to physically block the motor from pivoting the arm upwards. However, the motor is wired to only spin one direction, and it cannot be unless two ESC wires are swapped. So, that is why I had the propeller upside down in a "pusher" configuration. Did that make sense?
@@RCwithAdam1 Yep!!! ....If you are the only one touching that contraption...no problem. If you have a brother/sister that like to prank...then...put a strap to that arm. Better safe than sorry. Good Job!!
Your 4s battery is a bit weak, droping from 16.6 to 14.0 when you go full throttle. You should get a battery with a higher discharge rateXcapacity (C times mAh)

Hey there, I think you might want to consider adjusting your thrust test jig in such a manner that the motor isn't that close to the desk because I think you'll get a lot of ground effect from the nearby desk surface with this setup which will skew the test results.
You need to include actual motor Kv, RPM in each test and voltage across them. otherwise the test is useless. Airplanes fly by propeller speed. not by push.
The effy in a motor is Watts In vs Watts Out= Work. Work is Thrust + proppeler speed. where thrust is inversely proportional to speed. at higher speed, less thrust at the same power.where thrust is inversely proportional to speed. where prop speed is RPM *pitch/1050=MPH

Thank you so much for this! I’m pulling thrust data from your screenshots for a research project. You saved me tons of time.
I like this motor
Hello, please provide an analysis of the brushless motor gt 3526/05
Would have loved to see 4s with the 1355 prop.
How did you drill holes in propeller. Kindly make a video. Any balancing problems???
Thanks for the test data, just ordered one and was wanting to see how they run on a 3 cell lipo.
Love the big motors! On some of my larger builds I like to test all of motors. The Turnigy V3 thrust stand works great.

Why doesn't tare weight go back to 0 when prop stops as it was 0 at the start? 7:22
friend which model would be more economical the 5010 or the 5208? and which is the most economical of all you know?

GREAT MOTOR, 👍
What would be the recommended frame like a Tarot IRON MAN 650 Folding Carbon Fiber Quadcopter Frame???
Yes yes i need it now

Does that propeller locks itself into same position when the motor stops?
No. It's random.
You make your video very good i love your all video
Sir, I want to calculate the power of a brushless motor. I have the values of lift force, speed, current and voltage of the battery
nice work
Looks like a good one im using a couple turnigy aerodrive 4240 740kv . but i do like the numbers on that one mabye have to try a couple . 👍🎲
Witch bettery should I use with emax 3520/05 tell me please
Where can you buy 1 of these??
My friend good vídeo but i have a problem i don’t found This motor
I need that motor where can i get that motor
may i ask? is it okay if i used a 8x6x3 propeller to this motor?
Where do you get the propellers from?
I think I bought these at the Joe Nall event.
Esc will also come if we will buy that motor
Hi! No, I purchased the esc separately.
Please share the purchageing motor link
nice video
What is the esc that sutiable for this motor
Hello " intrusted this moter " i like this moter " i did chek but available this moter for perches " so i request you please sir " where from can get this moter
nice motor
Which esc did you use with this motor sir
80A 5.5vBEC 3S-6S Brushless ESC sold by ZTW
a cople of decant little motors i am sure u could bit a lite plane with a wig wing span and i rekon these could take some1 off the groud
Gt 2215/09 can take 4s????
Is it safe to run it at these speeds?
Yes.
where can i find this now?
I think it's been discontinued. 🙁
Hello bro give me this link to buy plz there is no motor according to the link
Hey! Unfortunately it looks like emax discontinued this motor. 🙁
The difference in power from 3s to 4s is very big.
Can we use it on 6S??
No. At least I wouldn't try it.
Tell me sir please what price for Indian inr price
Rs 3500
very good video, excuse a query to these engines you can put 17-inch propellers

How do you get the data from the kitchen scale into the amount of thrust?
The scale measures the amount of force from the thrust of the propeller (the prop is mount upside down), which gives an approximate measure of thrust.
where is 4s and 13x5.5?? i have 4 s and 13x8
Hi rmgcustoms ? You fly this motor on 4s and 13x8. Any problems or so ? I wanna use it on 4s 13x6 or 5s 12x6. Did you tried more options ?
@@michalbacik8910 i mean never seen 13x5.5 in my country. i fly on 13x8 and 80A Esc on 4s 4000. zero problems
i think these wires arent rated for 60 amps
Please i need that motor
And sir about bettery
Hi dear, this is Rebecca from Snaptain, i would love to invite you to test Snaptain new-released drone, are you interested? If, pls let me know.
run on 30 amp esc
Full power 🤣🤣🤣
I neen it now
I would if just sent it..... on 6s...

Hi. You're right, more data would have been better. However, total thrust output is still a very useful measurement regardless of rpm.
