EmpLemon is a one of a kind underrated content creator. I liked his YTP stuff but these recent topical deep dives have been really well done.
Emp was very smart to maneuverer towards other types of content other than just YTP, I can count on a single hand the amount of YTP content creators that didn't fall off by sticking to that genre, I guess in the same vein is Pyrocynical who managed to break out of just doing MLG edits once that started to fall off.

6:51 - when I was a kid Garo Yepremian came to my school and gave a little talk. I happened to have a football card of him that he signed. As a kid, that was the coolest thing ever. PS - Also the card was "Yepremian's comical blunder" or something like that - the same thing shown in the video. I can't remember exactly what he said but I think it was along the lines of "Ah yeah i remember that" or something. I wasn't trying to offend him or anything, it was literally the only card that I had from him. I sifted through tons of my cards and just happened to find him.
If there's another EmpLemon video I could recommend, the sympathy for the villain video is a good one. And maybe one of the Never Ever videos.

@@L_A_B_Y Yeah it kinda was, but there's too little of any other sports compared to American ones. Like no mention of Brazil 7-1 disaster? Or the F1 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix, which was somehow excluded.
Overall it was a very entertaining video though.

Impossible to put the entire world into a list like that. Well improbable but not worth the effort because the payout of a video like that would probably not equate financially. Remember, money is time and time is money.
I am extremely surprised he didn't talk about the "Miracle on Ice" 1980 Olympics, the Soviets vs the USA in Ice Hockey. That is literally one of the top 3 biggest upsets in sports history. Though I suppose it wasn't about "choking", as it's not like the Soviets played badly, it was simply the US Mens Hockey team just... exploded in a maelstrom of skill and effort.
They didn't talk about Hockey at all which probably tells me that they don't watch it or care for it lol.

Before watching, my bet on the biggest choke in sports history was the 28-3 3rd quarter into loss for the Flacons in the superbowl. The biggest choke moment was the Seahawks throwing the interception at the end of their superbowl. Funny that both were vs the Patriots too.

The 2004 Boston Red Sox are arguably the single most important sports team in American history. 86 straight years of the biggest L's and the worst heartaches and they won it by doing something no team had ever done in the 100+ years of baseball. The saying "if you wrote it nobody would believe it" was never more true as the movie Fever Pitch had to be re-written to have a happy ending where the Red Sox won. I was 7 years old in 2004 when it happened and I will never forget it until the die I die.
Nowhere even close to being right. There are at least half a dozen more important teams in American history. At least. You were 7, and nostalgia & bias clouds your judgement. The 2002 Athletics are light-years more important given they pioneered today's version of baseball. They literally changed the way FO's approached roster construction. The reason I highlight that team is because it's a team that even people who don't care about sports knows. The '04 Red Sox matter in Boston, and nowhere else.

I had a choke in school sports once, soccer, undefeated season, i was the goalkeeper for the team and i let 1 goal in all year off a penalty (where they are basically guaranteed to score at that age). Semi-final after an undefeated season, we lose 0-1 to a ball that went through my fingers above my head and hit the crossbar and bounced into the goal. My team which was all of my friends at that time, never let me live it down, it got so bad that It was part of the reason I changed schools next year when going into highschool(it was a joint-school so a lot of people stayed their entire school life)

Appalachian State is an anomaly that more coaches should pay attention to. They literally just beat Texas A&M which was number 6, and they have 2 top 10 upsets, 3 top 25 upsets, and a history of beating 1A teams as 1AA. Not to mention winning 3 national championships before they went up to 1A. On paper, based on size and funding, they shouldn't have come close to what they've been able to do. I went to an App st. game at "the rock" (in Boone, NC) and the atmosphere and energy was beautiful. I think I'm a mountaineer fan for life.
