  • 🌞 Flexible Solar Panel Review: All Power 100 Watt 🌞
Hey there! I’m Eric, and All Power sent me this cool, flexible panel to test out. This 100-watt flexible panel has quickly become a favorite of mine. I’ve already used their 200-watt version and loved it.
Here’s why I’m excited about this panel:
Durability: These panels are built tough. They’re not like some of the other cheap, flimsy flexible solar panels out there. They can handle some abuse.
Packaging: The All Power flexible solar panel series comes in a really nice box. It’s well-protected with foam, keeping it safe during shipping.
Accessories: The included accessories bag contains MC4 connectors to an XT 60 connector. Plus, those sturdy straps make it easy to hang the panel wherever you need it.
Flexibility: These panels can bend pretty well. While I don’t recommend excessive flexing, they’re perfect for getting into the right install position.
High Voltage: With an open voltage of 30.6V, this panel efficiently transmits power. Higher voltage means fewer wires needed!
Output: It’s rated at 100 watts, but from what I’ve seen, it can easily go over 100 watts if cooled by the wind.

I've started drafting my plans to make my solar bike trailer. I am pretty much using your plans except the trailer to creat mine. If you had a choice today to build it again, would you go with the 100 watt or the 200 watt? I was planning on building with the 200 but the dimensions of the 100 would be so much better.

@@powerkarma I just got done building, and testing a 100w version of it. Video still in the making. So now I have both a 100w and 200w version. The 200w doesn't fit in my car. The 100w is best for single track.

@@Eric_Tennant I'm leaning towards the 100w panel due to size, I think based on my battery efficiency testing, I could get away with less watts. I just did a 3 hourish live stream on my YT on Sunday, and I got 52 miles in on one battery. I really think the 100 watt could do the job for some extended days out on the ebike.

you might consider using a CIGS solar panel. They are highly shade tolerant, highly heat tolerant and virtually indestructible. They have a 25 year warranty and are more cost-effective over time.

I was just about to buy another 100W folding panel, but I like this one now. Most of them flexible ones look to easy to break but this one looks good. I might use PVC pipe to make a frame or something. I also like how it has slots for tying not little round ring holes.

Indeed provided Velcro and pvc would work great. I need to get started using this on a 100w version of my trailer. I love the 200w one but it wont fit in my car.

@@Eric_Tennant ya 150W seems to be about the biggest I can see use for this. 20)W would be nice though. I like to test the bare minimums mostly.

@@Ro-Bucks I like to push the limits. One day I will try a 400w version of the trailer. Will be as wide as a small car.

I'm thinking of getting their foldable 100W panel for emergency power on tour. I would assume the efficiency is similar. Stoked to see what 100W will do. Thanks. GG

@@Eric_Tennant noice. I'm using a 52v (dual) 17Ah battery touring system. I'm trying to decide what I could expect with one of the foldable 100W panels. If I left a battery and panel for a full day with good sun, what should I expect to get back? Can't charge a full battery surely, right? I think I'd be happy with 40%.

    • @Eric_Tennant

@@pdxevgrin1688 Without pointing it at the sun you would get around 500-550 watt off 100w panel so 62% of one battery.

The other matter is that total current mustn’t exceed eight amps into the Genasun controller, and total, no-current voltage is limited to about 45 volts or so. (Hope to get a 52 nominal volt instance in the future, so am trying to do my “homework” beforehand.)
