Racing, cars, and more racing... 2023 from my camera roll

2023 was a strange year. On paper, I lived out my dream in more ways than I could've imagined. I achieved a childhood dream of buying a Ferrari. I completed my first year racing cars in the SCCA after two years of preparation. I embarked on my first DIY project of remodeling my garage in preparation for these cars. We got a puppy. I finished top 3 in the local go kart league. This, and much, much more. And I managed to do all this while 80% of my time goes to my day job, which allows me to support all of this in the first place.
And yet, despite it being so epic, it was the hardest, most stressful, and trying year of my life. None of this has come easy. Most days were spent navigating all of this new terrain, making mistake after mistake as I carve my own path.
Thankfully, I have a strong support system starting with my wife, and of course all of the incredibly generous and kind guys in the car and racing community. I couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you.
Hopefully next year brings a bit more peace as I continue to cruise in the fast lane.

Neat video. When you move up to the F430 and then the 458, the 360 will still hold a special place in your heart, but the leap in performance, especially going to a 458 will amaze you. My recommendation, never drive a car you can't afford until you simply don't care what car you own. Lastly, I've always found truth in the belief it is better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. I own a 458 after my F430. But I refuse to drive a faster car until I'm ready to buy it.
