Im a longtime lurker from Belgium and I just want to say, thank you. Watching this channel makes me feel like its saturday morning and im eating cornflakes watching cartoons or anime, without even needing the cornflakes. I remember watching when the channel was in its early days and seeing how far youve come since then is inspiring. Your endless charisma and positivity made me want to change something in my life and ive already lost 65pounds in half a year. Thanks for keeping the show alive for all these years and know it means more to me than any other show ive ever seen. Thanks for everything, heres to another 50 years of THCG.

God, this guy's collection is basically an anime museum. That's nuts! Totally my style too. I'm only really into anime from the 80's and 90's. I can't really stomach the stuff that started being assisted by computers either in colouring or animation. Animation to some degree, depends on it's use, but I can't stand things being coloured in the computer for some reason.

I love old anime and I'm a millennial. They have a charm that not a lot of animes have. I don't just like stuff from the 80s and 90s, I watched a couple of animes from the 70s. That said I do like stuff from the 2000s and a few stuff from 2010s. I kinda miss the way the older animes told their story and even the way they are animated. There are more heart and soul placed in them. That said, I was really surprised by the 2019 remake of Osamu Tezuka's Dororo. I was intrigued by all the episodes that I watched so far especially how each episode told a story of people. The animation isn't crap and it's not generic in the slightest.
I'm still a huge fan of Gundam and mecha sci fi alike, especially Patlabor, Macross and Eureka Seven. I missed the older mecha shows, their story and the not complete clunky CG mechs. When the studio had a good budget, you can see in the animation of the mechs and the details of the machinery which was always a plus. I owned 3 Patlabor movie boxsets: the 2 movies in limited edition and the WXIII or whatever that was called. A lot of mecha shows from the 2000s and before that I watched had a defined world. I don't include too many of the super robot since I didn't watch that many though Big O, Gaogaigar, and G Gundam are pretty good. Oh and speaking of machinery what happened to good ol car animes these days besides Initial D which I liked up till Fifth Stage. Ex-Driver, Wangan Midnight, Capeta, and Future GPX Cyber Formula are some series I would recommend.
Also I prefer the art style of the past. They just seem a little more unique between different creators. Like you can tell who animated the first Megazone 23 since it looked like the original Macross. I was a big fan of Osamu Dezaki because of his animation/directing style. Remember when Tatsunoko Productions had an identity. The last Tatsunoko Productions work I saw was Gatchman Crowds which didn't even resemble Gatchaman and looked terribly generic. I didn't finish it since I was discouraged by the art style, premise and pacing.
Though in terms of 2010s, I really liked Tiger & Bunny and I think it's still a great show. I forced myself to watch My Hero Academia because everyone who was a casual fan of modern anime told me to watch it and I was disappointed somewhat by all 3 seasons. Say what you want but I can rewatch Tiger & Bunny but not My Hero Academia. Oh and Hi Score Girl is another good one despite being in CG. It was a teen romance dressed in a nostalgia trip through the 90s era of arcade/console gaming.
Anyways I felt very nostalgic watching this guy show off his huge collection since I recognized a lot like Kimagure Orange Road and Arion.

That was a cool video, John. I wish I could see more of Mr. Chow's ginormous collection, especially the mecha anime.
