12:00 About beating the bayern press... there's a new tactic I've seen in some lower league games I've forgotten the fixture but they play a left footer at rb and right footer at lb to make sure when that pass going into them they're not forced down the line but rather open up and try to switch play.... it actually does work well when the switch the properly executed.
Wow, I was thinking about that idea yesterday when I was watching a tactical analysis video. It’s seems like a good idea to avoid being too predictable and give the fullbacks more options
@@Kobble8 The only issue is, these full backs are easier to pass down the line as most people are better at tackling with their dominant foot - you need some degree of two footedness to protect the line
The Joe Gomez Liverpool tactic, i love it. Hope Slot tries to do this, but he doesnt seem too keen on playing Gomez left or right back because of his lack of attacking talent
About leaving a man up top to run in behind, it will be funny if Kompany tries to counter it by asking Neuer to stay high up to rush in when the long ball gets played. Obviously not so much that he just concedes a long-range goal, but just enough that he can run to close in when the ball is floating in the air and challenge the striker for it. Probably still too risky, but if any keeper can pull it off, it's Neuer.
As the ways to play against them, you can also just avoid build up at all, kick the ball long to a tall guy and then push the line up and press the second ball like Newcastle were doing 2 years ago with Burn.
Absolutely.. I am a Bayern manisch Fan. And the Weak points are Long fast Balls and pressure on Opa and kim. They Suffer when they dont have time and Need to react fast. Do this 6 times against Opa and his Self confidence will be destroyed fasten as we think.
Wow I love the new opposition analysis stuff you are doing and kudos to the subscriber that. Suggested it. Another thing I would do is if I take the ball back to my keeper, we see it a lot at Manchester City and Brighton, playing bounce passes. If the ball goes to my keeper, then play a bounce pass off the center back to my midfield and Bayern Munich (or the opponent) is open and hopefully a through ball to the winger or wing-back who is now one on one or direct to the goal! Thank you.
It will be interesting to see how he employees this against barca where you have 3 best long passer in pedri, de jong and cubarsi. Lamine on right side who can beat anyone, create out of minimal space. Balde and Raohinha with their pace on left. Plus olmo and Lewandowski who are great finishers inside the box.
10:20 I can see Real Madrid employing such a setup if they were to face Bayern. Madrid have insane pace upfront. They'd just have Mbappe and Vinicius as the two outfield players
I reckon also playing teams with good build up will be a problem too that can beat that press a lot more often because lets be honest they have not played the best of teams so far
You are right except you can't have it both ways. Bayern has fast wingers too so a team with a compact midfield can still be destroyed on the wings. Long balls are fine. You can score 1 or 2 with them but what's the point when you concede 5?
I like this new addition part to the videos! Thank you. It will be interesting to see what bigger European clubs can carry out against such a tactic from Bayern!
about how to play against Bayern. 1. use left footer as right fullback and use a right footer as a left fullback. This helps them to use the feet that is farther from the defender to make those long switch passes, which is very likely to improve the quality of those switches. The effect can also be realized by pushing the fullback forward while dropping the midfielder into a deep wide position. 2. When the ball goes to the left fullback for example. The left centreback should move forward. Kane is likely to follow him so as to avoid a central overload. And for Olise is it impossible to close down the goalkeeper and the right centreback at the same time. So who ever the free man is, just switch. To make the whole process quicker, the left fullback should be a bit more inverted, when the left center back attempts to move forward. 3. Speaking of counterattacks, you can have one forward moving constantly on an offside position no matter he stays central or drags out wide. There is the possibility that Bayern's center back will be dragged into a lower position. Therefore the space between the lines are opened up. So the offside can suddenly drop back to onside position when he smells the chance of a counterattack. It is also possible that the defenders just ignore the offside player. In that case, just throw a long ball to the your winger, who is ought to be marked by one centerback. But the centerbacks will soon realize that they can't mark the player who used to be offside but now onside. That tactic has been used by a Scottish team. A Quiz: If you know the team, leave its name below!

Great insights! I've watched a couple of games for bayern and I think they can struggle against oppositions they havent faced yet in the league like munchengladbach...the fact that the back 4 are distant about 30 meters from the mid 3 can take off some of bayern's direct heavy press, think about locating your players relatively far from your GK in build up, this should take off some pressure..
They didn't win but dominated possession by 70% kept leverkusen in their half and had way more shots. Didnt get the w, but dominating in a draw is a tactical victory.
we drew vs them but we were very unlucky bayer liverksuen only defended ! comparing to tuchel poor tactics bayer destoryed us now they coudn't do a thing saldy we didn't win tho especailly with alot of chances
Completely dominated them. It was a 1 - 1 game but could have been 4 - 1 for Bayern if they were a bit more clinical finishing those chances and have a bit more luck.(Gnabry hit the post twice for example)
Kompany learned from Guardiola. His tactics are proof that possesion, instant pressing and stretching the defense with passes around the 16m IS STILL the way to go. Barca, City, Bayern - all dominated Europe while Guardiola was their coach. Now Kompany plays a similar role. I hope Bayern stay consistent and ecspecially work their ass off for their teammates (eg Sane, Coman defending) like in Hitzfeld or Heynckes era. If so, they will dominate Europe again very soon.
Bayern during the attack are able to effortlessly rotate the ball along the edges of the cage they have built in. Like you ve said, what Im proposing is not easy to do, but if they are able to time and make good shadow cover pressess once the ball goes to either of their wide man, they could cut off the rotation and probably get a loose pass or they have to go back all the way to their keeper.
for 3 days I've been looking for analyses about Kompany's Bayern, but all of them on RUclips speak about psychology and stuff like that. Finally, a proper analysing.
I agree that there are a lot of caveats with the opposition analysis. You definitely need a keeper or centerback with a strong passing ability. You definitely need a striker or winger with a good touch or ability to win and hold the ball from the air. I'd say that it would be nearly impossible for a team to beat Bayern's high press through short passes, purely because going man to man whilst receiving the ball as a player is so dangerous. One lapse in judgement or slow touch, or little mistake equals a turnover. The solution would be to, like you said, get Bayern to commit to a flank, work the ball back to the keeper or centerback, then they can play the long diagonal from a deeper, more safe position when Bayern has yet to shift back. Longer passes however, take a long time to get to their target. Bayern will have time to defend, but at least this can get the ball up the field. If we have a good player that can win and hold the ball as well, we can begin to move through Bayern's formation from midfield rather than in front of goal. I've yet to see much on Bayern's defensive tactics when a team has worked their way up the field, but a good team like Man City would be able to get the ball up to midfield while maintaining possession, possibly utilizing a player like Haaland or Grealish to receive the ball up the field from a long pass.
Mi é piaciuto molto il parte nuovo alla fine. Vorrei anche vedere, se puoi, come faresti il sessione per insegnarla ai giocatori tuoi. So che non sei un allenatore però ne hai aiutato uno da prima. Grazie! Tuoi video sono fantastici
I deployed such strategy at training today using Bayern's pressing system, and the opposition fullback moved into the wing position allowing the winger to tuck into the half space thereby giving troubles to our pressing. Also their CB moved into the CB role thereby not allowing us to press compactly or with a long ball behind, the our backline becomes exposed.
Great effort really and Great analysis dude keep up the good work and i wanna suggest an idea to talk about in the upcoming videos like here in this video for example talk about how bayern coach or the coaches generally teach their players how to be fluid like that and move from structure to another successfully one last thing what is the app that u using as tactical board at the end of the video i will really appreciate if u replied to my comment
The scenario you’re mentioning in the pov of the rival, has been played out. Mexico vs Germany 2018. Mexico mantained a compact 4231, where the right winger became a wingback in defense, and attacked diagonally in transition, creating an overload on the left side with a winger kept high as you mentioned. Knock on from the striker were very dangerous and with a bit more talent, mexico could’ve scored a few goal on germany
About Musiala and Kane dropping between the lines , creating an imbalance in the defensive line The fullbacks must keep being at the same line of the CB’s, creating an offside trap and forcing the wingers to move down with them
Don't you think if we used the 3-4-3 and do what eddie howwie did against ange's tottenham last season Don't you think it wiil be effective when the wingers shield the fullbacks and the striker covering the holding
some good stuff again. about countering bayern's press, i have some ideas. why not bait the press and build out with a double pivot so when a bayern player commits to the goalie(who can keep his studs on the ball) there's a free man and can do quick wall passes to escape. since bayern press high why not increase the distance kane and musiala have to press... either spread the centre backs or even drop the full backs deeper to increase distance between coman and davies. im not sure if they're possible though
I think elite teams could exploit their rest defence by creating a mismatch against Upa and Kim. We’ve seen how Kim struggled against pacey and agile opponents, and how Upa struggled against physically imposing strikers
I think a 3-4-3 while playing the ball long and making a square with whichever played shift to the side to have a numerical superiority in that side of the pitch and from there just build a high speed combination to get Bayern off guard since they have slow center backs.
Danm, I have never seen such an eye-opening analyzation. I always thought that Kompany was overrated, but it looks like I should watch some Bayern games
Don't forget the important aspect: all the players are smiling and they seem to be enjoying the freedom and trust he gives them. He might've learned from Pep, but he's nowhere near as rigid and he lets the players move and make decisions according to what they see. It's been great so far!
Coming back to this during Bayern vs. Leverkusen. Obviously, I don't know the result yet, but so far it's been nothing but total domination without Bayern scoring. Leverkusen can barely get out of their defensive third, but they had one shot on target and are 1-0 up from a long shot by Andrich.
12:00 would try the de zerbi build up using ur pivots on Kane and Jamal with a couple of bounce passes and 3rd man runs I think u can evade the press but u would need to commit
A system's approach: let's all run forward when we've got the ball and when we loose it, run back VERY fast. It's fun no matter what you call it: soccer AI. D:D:D.
To olay around their press, I'll have my 2 centre backs drop deep along with the keeper to form a back 3, invert one of my fullbacks into halfspace, the other fullback remains in position, and have my ball playing and holding midfielder(in half space) drop deep too. So we have a 7 vs 5 or 6 if opposition presses high.
would it make a difference if the opposition dropped a pivot into their backline? ideally you could move kane and musiala with more proactive rotations like an inverting fullback, moving a CB wide, splitting the back 2 with a midfielder or inverted fullback
they have Neuer at the back, his starting position is near the center of the field, not inside his box when they're attacking. He takes care of long balls usually.
i think if opponents alter their press to a rigid 4-5-1, it can allow for more players in the center of the pitch to prevent bayern from playing through the same zones
I'm fan of Ajax. But can you make a video about or rivals PSV Eindhoven against Sporting. They dominanted but were not able to win. But how were they able to get the ball back from sporting on the side of sporting so consitenly?
I see Kompany's tactic is similar to what Guardiola applied in his club he managed, Kompany learned a lot of tactics directly from Guardiola during his service in ManCity
For professional players, instantly changing the ball from one flank to another is not difficult especially when you have wingers that are fast. The solution you gave are the best but if you are playing against bayern, you have to rule out loose ball and not playing a low line while adopting your build up tactic
I'd argue that Kompany at Burnley was not bad or even mediocre. He took a bad Burnley side, recently relegated from the Prem, and got them overperforming, winning the Championship. If he had the players that could fit his system, he would've definitely stayed up. I think Bayern saw this and were convinced that his system would benefit Bayern, and we're seeing it now.
Instead of using only those dots on the board, how about showing more of what is going on in the pitch using a real match scenario to explain their movements, that way one can truly see how effective their play is.
I am a barca fan and bayern vs barca is going to be an amazing game according to me. I think if they leave a player empty on any side due to their overloads on the other side barca can take advantage of it with the ball playing abilities of cubarsi and inigo. Let's see what happens.
In youth soccer, possession is of course the standard. But if defense sends the entire team to press, the kids are all too ready to play the long ball. You even alluded to youth / lower level tactics may be the answer to an over pressure tactic.
Tbh Real Madrid, though stronger, are below par I feel. They are just winning 3-2 against lower ranked teams. But again, we can’t underestimate them. They have this pattern of starting slow and surprising everyone. Will be an interesting game for sure
@@Samelamers Finally someone who agrees with me. As a Bayern fan, I was disheartened when the won the 2016 champions league. 2 of Ronaldo’s goals were clearly offside. But last season they did deserve to win. They played well
@@Samelamershow are their wins suspicious? They have been winning for a long time and you do not need to win by 5 goals to win a match. Look at city, they usually win with huge margins but struggle in Europe

Just thinking of this video before I went to play ff, and qm back at RUclips to see the video 😁
Looks like Bayern have great Kompany within their squad now 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😐😐
Love this comment 😂

Danm, I have never seen such an eye-opening analyzation. I always thought that Kompany was overrated, but it looks like I should watch some Bayern games
Great video mate, could you tell which app you’re using for the formations ?
Bro love your tactical animations 😍
Please how do you do these ?
Don't forget the important aspect: all the players are smiling and they seem to be enjoying the freedom and trust he gives them. He might've learned from Pep, but he's nowhere near as rigid and he lets the players move and make decisions according to what they see. It's been great so far!
Coming back to this during Bayern vs. Leverkusen. Obviously, I don't know the result yet, but so far it's been nothing but total domination without Bayern scoring. Leverkusen can barely get out of their defensive third, but they had one shot on target and are 1-0 up from a long shot by Andrich.
As a Bayern Munich fan. I say great analysis
Thanks for the video! :-) . - may i ask which software you use for the team movement and play illustrations? :)
Another interesting team is Torino and Olympique Marseille of Vanoli and De Zerbi, will you talk about it?
Can you make a video of your tactics if you were a manager and players that will fit the system
12:00 would try the de zerbi build up using ur pivots on Kane and Jamal with a couple of bounce passes and 3rd man runs I think u can evade the press but u would need to commit
yew aston villa showed how accurate was your analyse!! 😂
Kompany like he said he is aggressive fighting spirit brave and Bayern is there like to make things true and done exactly what kompany said
I liked the opposition analysis at the latter half.
Great Job fantastic 🎉🎉
A system's approach: let's all run forward when we've got the ball and when we loose it, run back VERY fast.
It's fun no matter what you call it: soccer AI. D:D:D.
Bro can you do pre match tactical analysis of big games like Newcastle vs City, Man Utd vs Spurs Etc.
And you're stuck on your own half
would it make a difference if the opposition dropped a pivot into their backline? ideally you could move kane and musiala with more proactive rotations like an inverting fullback, moving a CB wide, splitting the back 2 with a midfielder or inverted fullback
2-4-4 is a very risky formation especially during when counters
It even worked against a team like Leverkusen which is very good with counter attacks.
@@hitbox_91we’ll see later down in the season in crunch times
the whole team drops back on defense though
they have Neuer at the back, his starting position is near the center of the field, not inside his box when they're attacking. He takes care of long balls usually.
Kim's strength and speed❤️🔥
i think if opponents alter their press to a rigid 4-5-1, it can allow for more players in the center of the pitch to prevent bayern from playing through the same zones
I'm fan of Ajax. But can you make a video about or rivals PSV Eindhoven against Sporting. They dominanted but were not able to win. But how were they able to get the ball back from sporting on the side of sporting so consitenly?
Hi, great video. Can you probably tell what’s the tactic board you’re using
I see Kompany's tactic is similar to what Guardiola applied in his club he managed, Kompany learned a lot of tactics directly from Guardiola during his service in ManCity
NICE VID
Barcelona next? I think they play similarly
barsa are in for a pasting
Copyright issues. So many tactical analysis channel got banned for showing clips from real matches
Copyright makes it difficult I imagine.
What’s wrong with dots anyway? Sometimes I even think it’s clearer
I'd love to but yeah as others have pointed out copyright is a real pain, need to be very careful what I use
Villa said no 💀
Great video!
Would you be able to tell us which software do you use to do the tactics board? Thanks
Yeah it's some software I've been working on for a while, still need to fix up some bugs before making it public but it's progressing nicely 👍🏼
I like the "how would you counter it"
I am a barca fan and bayern vs barca is going to be an amazing game according to me. I think if they leave a player empty on any side due to their overloads on the other side barca can take advantage of it with the ball playing abilities of cubarsi and inigo. Let's see what happens.
I'm a manager playing Bayern next week.
Me: taking a trip to Manchester.
please make something on defence and goalkeeping
In youth soccer, possession is of course the standard. But if defense sends the entire team to press, the kids are all too ready to play the long ball. You even alluded to youth / lower level tactics may be the answer to an over pressure tactic.
Best attacking players in Europe
It would be difficult against Real Madrid, good old Italian tactics would be nemesis to this type of tactics,
Yes but not when you got cheeky wingers.
Tbh Real Madrid, though stronger, are below par I feel. They are just winning 3-2 against lower ranked teams. But again, we can’t underestimate them. They have this pattern of starting slow and surprising everyone. Will be an interesting game for sure
@@prajwalsrinivas5157 TBH madrid wins look suspcious. they pay refs for sure.
Look at city, they usually win with huge margins but struggle in Europe
told he was not a "good" manager after relegation with burnley. Now shining as the manager of Bayern Munchen
They’ve imposed themselves on the low level opposition with very fluid combinations so far but i’m yet to see how they fare against a side with a good mid block that can also play and not rely solely on counters.
