      @jkraemo Месяц назад +3

@@JohnCox-ut3cv The vibe is definitely Bayern being the team to beat again. Leverkusen already picked up their first loss, breaking their streak and while they showed a strong defence in their game against Bayern, there was not much in the way of counterplay, even their one goal wasn’t really because they created chances, it was one of those goals where the ball just somehow ended up in the net. But once again against an almost suffocating FC Bayern attack they ended up with only 1 goal against them, which was a great shot but also one of those goals where the ball somehow ended up in the net.

12:00 About beating the bayern press... there's a new tactic I've seen in some lower league games I've forgotten the fixture but they play a left footer at rb and right footer at lb to make sure when that pass going into them they're not forced down the line but rather open up and try to switch play.... it actually does work well when the switch the properly executed.

About leaving a man up top to run in behind, it will be funny if Kompany tries to counter it by asking Neuer to stay high up to rush in when the long ball gets played. Obviously not so much that he just concedes a long-range goal, but just enough that he can run to close in when the ball is floating in the air and challenge the striker for it. Probably still too risky, but if any keeper can pull it off, it's Neuer.

Another thing I would do is if I take the ball back to my keeper, we see it a lot at Manchester City and Brighton, playing bounce passes. If the ball goes to my keeper, then play a bounce pass off the center back to my midfield and Bayern Munich (or the opponent) is open and hopefully a through ball to the winger or wing-back who is now one on one or direct to the goal!
    Thank you.

about how to play against Bayern.
    1. use left footer as right fullback and use a right footer as a left fullback. This helps them to use the feet that is farther from the defender to make those long switch passes, which is very likely to improve the quality of those switches. The effect can also be realized by pushing the fullback forward while dropping the midfielder into a deep wide position.
    2. When the ball goes to the left fullback for example. The left centreback should move forward. Kane is likely to follow him so as to avoid a central overload. And for Olise is it impossible to close down the goalkeeper and the right centreback at the same time. So who ever the free man is, just switch. To make the whole process quicker, the left fullback should be a bit more inverted, when the left center back attempts to move forward.
    3. Speaking of counterattacks, you can have one forward moving constantly on an offside position no matter he stays central or drags out wide. There is the possibility that Bayern's center back will be dragged into a lower position. Therefore the space between the lines are opened up. So the offside can suddenly drop back to onside position when he smells the chance of a counterattack. It is also possible that the defenders just ignore the offside player. In that case, just throw a long ball to the your winger, who is ought to be marked by one centerback. But the centerbacks will soon realize that they can't mark the player who used to be offside but now onside. That tactic has been used by a Scottish team. A Quiz: If you know the team, leave its name below!

I've watched a couple of games for bayern and I think they can struggle against oppositions they havent faced yet in the league like munchengladbach...the fact that the back 4 are distant about 30 meters from the mid 3 can take off some of bayern's direct heavy press, think about locating your players relatively far from your GK in build up, this should take off some pressure..

Barca, City, Bayern - all dominated Europe while Guardiola was their coach. Now Kompany plays a similar role. Bayern during the attack are able to effortlessly rotate the ball along the edges of the cage they have built in. Like you ve said, what Im proposing is not easy to do, but if they are able to time and make good shadow cover pressess once the ball goes to either of their wide man, they could cut off the rotation and probably get a loose pass or they have to go back all the way to their keeper.

The scenario you’re mentioning in the pov of the rival, has been played out. Mexico vs Germany 2018. Mexico mantained a compact 4231, where the right winger became a wingback in defense, and attacked diagonally in transition, creating an overload on the left side with a winger kept high as you mentioned. Knock on from the striker were very dangerous and with a bit more talent, mexico could’ve scored a few goal on germany

since bayern press high why not increase the distance kane and musiala have to press... either spread the centre backs or even drop the full backs deeper to increase distance between coman and davies. im not sure if they're possible though

I agree that there are a lot of caveats with the opposition analysis.
You definitely need a keeper or centerback with a strong passing ability.
You definitely need a striker or winger with a good touch or ability to win and hold the ball from the air.
I'd say that it would be nearly impossible for a team to beat Bayern's high press through short passes, purely because going man to man whilst receiving the ball as a player is so dangerous. One lapse in judgement or slow touch, or little mistake equals a turnover.
The solution would be to, like you said, get Bayern to commit to a flank, work the ball back to the keeper or centerback, then they can play the long diagonal from a deeper, more safe position when Bayern has yet to shift back. Longer passes however, take a long time to get to their target. Bayern will have time to defend, but at least this can get the ball up the field. If we have a good player that can win and hold the ball as well, we can begin to move through Bayern's formation from midfield rather than in front of goal.
I've yet to see much on Bayern's defensive tactics when a team has worked their way up the field, but a good team like Man City would be able to get the ball up to midfield while maintaining possession, possibly utilizing a player like Haaland or Grealish to receive the ball up the field from a long pass.

I deployed such strategy at training today using Bayern's pressing system, and the opposition fullback moved into the wing position allowing the winger to tuck into the half space thereby giving troubles to our pressing. Also their CB moved into the CB role thereby not allowing us to press compactly or with a long ball behind, the our backline becomes exposed.

So we have a 7 vs 5 or 6 if opposition presses high.

Coming back to this during Bayern vs. Leverkusen. Obviously, I don't know the result yet, but so far it's been nothing but total domination without Bayern scoring. Leverkusen can barely get out of their defensive third, but they had one shot on target and are 1-0 up from a long shot by Andrich.
