- What is the meaning of the love between David and Jonathan? Why does David say that the love that he felt from Jonathan was more wonderful from the love that he felt from women? What is the secret that the Hebrew letters are wishing to tell us?

I am certain that the meaning behind David's expression of his love for Johnathan is "non sexual". Taken in context of the happenings of the the Books of Kings, anyone that has a deep love and affection towards a brother in Arms of Combat, can likely relate. The true love of comradery is not always evident, even among close friends of combat. But occasionally there exists between two Brothers in Arms of Combat, a special bond that is so strong and true, it supersedes a man's natural desire for women, and even stronger than that of a carnal desire for women. I cannot speak for David or Johnathan, but Imaging if Johnathan needed David, or was in trouble; and David left the bed of a woman, pursuit of a woman, or any other way would forgoe the equivalent of that desire (which is a strong pull for a man that a woman cannot understand), but would forgoe it nonetheless, simply upon Johnathan's request. A bond so strong that one knows they would be stricken with greater grief over their death, than that of their own beloved mother and father... that is a strong bond. added: Forgive me if I error, I only have read KJV, and cannot read Hebrew. I certainly did not mean to suggest that their relationship was any less than divine, but simply meant to convey a limited understand of how the two may have felt towards one another. God Bless...
