I love that you guys are super practical and not really concerned about the hottest fad. I have a few of your holsters and they conceal the best and are way more durable than most other manufacturers with dual clips and weird claws that add to the discomfort. Another thing to note, for people who have not tried the tenicor zero belt your missing out, most comfortable belt on the market you will be surprised how low profile and lightweight it is

Regarding full sized duty lights, I put a TLR 1 HL on my carry gun and actually found that it made it *more* concealable. The extra length past the muzzle helps keep the gun from tipping away from my body now which was the main cause of printing for me. I’m bigger than most people though so this is purely anecdotal

Great point and it definitely can help with tip out.

I carry both a hand held and a weapon light(sometimes). I always have a knife, pen, and Mircrostream in addition to my keys, wallet, and phone. These are always with me. If/when I carry I have a TLR-7 Sub on my P365XL(I don't always carry my handgun depending on where I am going/if i can or can't). Having a hand held light for me is just nice instead of using my phone light. I have a handheld light on me even if I have my TLR-7 sub on my handgun because it is not a crime to point a handheld light at some one. Let me explain.
Scenario: I am walking to my car with 2 of my female friends after a concert. I notice that a guy in a black hoody has fallowed us about 2 1/2 blocks even around a corner. I didn't notice him walk out of the venue. When his pace increased toward us, i took out the microstream from my pocket and pointed it at him and yelled "Stop Fallowing us". The dude turned around and ran. (Yes this has happened)
Now I live in a not so 2A friendly state, If I pulled out my Handgun to shine my TLR-7, I have now just brandished a firearm. I can go to jail. Even though I didn't fire my gun, or I used it to deter a "possible" crime, I just used the flash light, that does not cut it in my state(or any state really). Pointing a little handheld light at some one, there is almost 0% chance you can be arrested or that it can be twisted into you threatening some ones life.
Here is how I train for something like this. My range is cool and I can get a lane separate from every one else so I can do some dynamic(Ish) drills. I start at the paper target at max range (25m) and the Microstream in my hand pointing at it. I have the target start traveling in to 0m. When the target passes some where between 15m and 20m meters I drop the microstream on the ground and draw from my concealed holster. I make an effort to remember to flip off my safety and turn on the TLR-7.
This in my opinion is the best way to just avoid Legal bs in a low light self defense situation.

Though it’s underpowered by today’s standards, I really, really like the tan microstream USB for one simple reason. It doesn’t scream “gun guy” and I can bust it out in public without anyone giving me the side eye. I do also have a macro stream and I find I only carry it when I know I’m going out at night.
As far as WML’s, I find anything that extends the length of a normal G19 to be extremely uncomfortable. So I stick with the TLR-7a, or no WML.

The G19 X300 ARX SOL is what I've worn for about four years, daily. Tenicor warrantied my holster when the loops cracked after hard use (12+hr days of body heat and use); Surefire thankfully replaced my X300 parts as they also broke (mostly the thin plastic hooks on the battery door).
I also installed a G43X + TLR7 Sub SAGAX LUX2 onto a PHLster Enigma for my wife, and it has continued to work as expected with excellent fitment.
People should support companies with great warranties, and customer service should be at the top of your consideration list when buying gear.
Tenicor definitely wins me over with that, as they've never let me down and have continually supported and tolerated me.
Now, if only we could get that VP9 X300 lineup rolling into 2024! 😎👍

For me, I work in executive protection so I don't like running red dots or weapon lights because concealment is what I need. Sig P365XL (in a Velo 4 of course) and the Surefire stiletto pro is all carry.

I agree with the sentiment of carrying the biggest, most effective gun & light you can realistically manage/conceal.
Thats why I have an m&p2.0 compact 4". I have large hands, so it was one of the few options with a big enough grip (length, width & depth wise) where i can actually get a confident hold on the gun. But it also holds 15+1, shoots extremely flat, while being just compact enough.

I carried a weapon mounted light for 32 years on and off duty. I no longer carry a weapon mounted light on my gun because my obligations as a citizen don't require me to look for bad guys in low light places i.e. buildings, houses, warehouses, closed businesses, ditches, wooded areas, etc. I appendix carry and I find it more comfortable carrying without a weapon mounted light. I do have a weapon mounted light on my home defense gun for obvious reasons.

My first real light was an early surefire incandescent in Iraq in 2006 like you mentioned. I still have it but it's amazing how the tech has advanced just like cell phones. Brighter. smaller. Longer output.
I have the tan microstream. Love it and it feels like it puts out more lumen then it's specs state but I will say it gets hot fast.

I carry a TLR7 on my Walther PDP because it doesn’t add any bulk over not having a light and the weight slightly helps with recoil. I acknowledge that the chance of me needing that light in a concealed carry situation is vanishingly small. On home defense pistols and rifles I always have bigger lights. That “bump in the night” situation is going to be more likely for you to need a light.

I decided to purchase a second handgun for EDC in Fall/Winter (previously been rocking the 3.1" Shield Plus in your Velo 4 365 days of the year) and went with the Beretta APX A1 Compact due to its low $400 price and the $100 rebate Beretta has been offering.
Since the nights were longer and due to the presence of WML I decided I would go ahead and try to find a holster that would support a WML.
Unfortunately the aftermarket support for Beretta is pretty limited as is, the good companies I trust for making holsters that do support the APX A1 do not at the moment make a WML version of their holster. So now I am contemplating getting the bulkier but universal WML holsters like the Phlster Floodlight 2.
But this video has helped assure me that I could be fine going with just a normal AIWB holster and a handheld flashlight in dark settings.

Tan Microstream FTW. I have several that I rotate in and out of charging. Been using them for many many years. The Tan one has HI first then low, vs LOW then High on the black one. Don't know why they did it that way. I actually think it's better than the Wedge and Wedge XT. It actually feels brighter than the XT, which is actually brighter but has more of a flood so doesn't quite have the reach of the lower-powered Microstream. I find I carry the Micro more than the Macro - the Micro disappears on sweats and shorts, while the Macro is a little heavier.

Great video. If I may add however, carrying a full size light and forearm can be done easily unless very overweight. I’m 5’10” 170lbs and I carry a Glock 34 with tlr 1 hl and rmr everyday in florida where I wear shorts and a form fitted tshirt. The biggest things are a fantastic belt, great holster like the armadillo concealment lux extended, and a placing the firearm in a great position lince cross draw appendix. These things can be great topics to explore with people as opposed to reassuring their excuses for not trying to carry a bigger more well equipped firearm.

@@tenicorusa agreed, but also a great belt and holster combo can mean all the difference between having to wear a jacket and just going about the day in your normal attire. Or it can mean the difference between thinking the gun should be smaller and less capable vs full sized and with a light. I wish I knew all of this my first 8 years of CCW. It took going through so many handguns before I realized I can carry so much more with proper gear.

Some people may not be able to conceal any light at all. I have also heard that some people doing undercover work would not carry a light as to avoid accidentally giving away their position

    • @volbrenYT
      @volbrenYT 2 месяца назад

@@BlueLife03416 people shoot at lights - handheld being held off body is still the best bet if you're unfortunate enough to have to solo or 2 man a room/building.
In cases where there's a full team - the pie gets covered, by everyone having a light - everyone can see everywhere - so you accept the trade off of position being compromised for well lit space. You can't accept the trade off of position being given away when there's only 1 or 2 of you, best not to make it easier to be surprised.
The average citizen doesn't need a WML unless they're in a very rural setting or usually in places they shouldn't be anyway.
