Alex albon doesn't care about his fans! I was sitting on my couch watching the race and as I cheered for him as he went by across the TV screen, he did not even look at me through the TV and wave to me . . . What a bastard! (Let all those who need to be offended to find a sense if worth and all those with no grasp of sarcasm begin ingesting a satchel of Richards now.)
@@KymIllman in defense of introverts ( people who don’t necessarily like the camera and would rather let their business do the talking ) Alexander Albon is just very introverted (keep to themselves) more so than “rude “ ( just don’t want to be bothered to do small talk )
I love that tai stopped taking photos of Alex, and then thought no one noticed. No one noticed, because no one really cares about his photographs enough to notice who he has and hasn’t shot.
But someone did notice. Hence why he was asked the question. I'm sure like Kym says Alex won't lose any sleep over it and at the end of the day... big deal...he expressed an opinion. It may not be to everyones liking but thats life.
You want rude and dismissive ... try Lance Stroll. Cant do an interview and offer more than 6 words, in the pen during actual Q+A's after a session. Seems to forget (or doesnt care) that hes not talking to press ... but fans. You're right, these guys dont owe photogs or press anything, but they do owe fans a reason to become involved, while actually answering questions on camera.
Hello mate I completely understand your view. But can I pick your brain a little bit and maybe the F1 fans for why Kimi raikkonen is so love even though he too is quite dismissive to the media I'm not sure how he is with fans but I just want to know in your opinion why do you think kimi is so loved and why stroll so hated
From my perspective, I have seen Alex as a very well mannered and raised young man, especially considering the hardships his family has endured. I say no. he is not rude unlike a few other drivers.
I have seen Alex do a few interviews and he is always super kind and funny. My only interaction with him was as the Netflix cup a year ago. I put my hand out for a high 5 as he drove past in the golf cart. He was driving the cart, trying to put his gloves on at the same time and I was surprised he still took a moment to reach out and give me a high 5.
He was injured from how rough he traveled. Uh... you what now, mate? Is he being stuffed in the cargo hold or what? Man certainly comes across as a drama queen.
that photographer sounds like a whining brat. making stuff up to get attention on himself at the expense of alex (not that alex would care) but its just pathetic and sad considering many would give anything to be in a position such as his.
Photographer dude was having dinner with his boyfriend one day and Alex just walked straight up to them and slapped him in the face. Maybe in a parallel universe?
Yeah, that's not a battle to pick with Alex at all. He's never been anything but gracious~ and you can't count the times he's just made a rubbish pile of the car and is not in the mood. If it was true about Alex, we'd have known long before now. But no, Alex seems to be one of the nicest, genuine people out there.
Do your job and take pictures... you are not there to make friends so why does he act like a baby and worry about what drivers think.. sounds like that photo guy needs to re-think his job
I met Alex in August 2021 in Indianapolis, and he was a proper gentleman when I spoke to him. We chatted for about 60 seconds and he was very friendly and professional, and even dismissive of rumours of a F1 return at the time. It was shocking to me that Alex is so tall for a F1 driver and even more shocking that he walked through the public area of Indianapolis Motor Speedway unbothered
from the perspective of a man sitting in front of his TV watching the circus unfold, I've long said that Danny Ric seemed like the driver who would be the one you would want to go to the bar with for a great time and lots of laughs, and Alex has always struck me as the all around normal guy you went to school with that "made it" but didn't let it go to his head and was still just that same good dude. No doubt they all do their best to curate the image they want of them to go out, but there is only so much one can do, and in the end, you will be left with a reflection of who that person is. Not the whole picture, but not a complete fabrication either.
Lol I watch a LOT of F1 content and Alex is definitely top 3 of the most engaging drivers. I would imagine, like in any job, you have to build a rapport with the people you work with and that takes time, especially if you're not there every "work" day 🤷♀️
He's quite British in manner, for all he's demi-Thai. Slightly reserved and diffident, which can come across as stand-offish to our colonial cousins...
And I’m sorry, Albon has more to flex on than #daddysmoney Stroll does. If his father doesn’t own the team he’s somewhere else wasting daddy’s money. No one on the grid less deserving of a seat.
Talk about entitled Taidgh 😂 Getting angry and refusing to take photos because of a short clip / not smiling JUST because you have a lens pointed at him, wow. I've seen Taidgh's photos - sometimes he's basically pointing the camera 2 ft from their nostrils. He probably got injured tripping over a fan beside the car - get some health insurance mate.
Go Alex Albon - Tai is acting like an egotist, his feelings hurt …. Every photographer should be kind to all the drivers, because if they ignore you - and you can’t get those pics then you are out of work . Nothing to sell. Based on your feedback and others this Tai guy (who’ve I have never met or know ) appears like he’s guying to be unemployed soon
Until this video, I (and I am sure many, many people) had no idea who Tai was. Perhaps that was his agenda - now people do know who he is, albeit for the wrong reasons, but you know what they say about no such thing as bad publicity. Regarding Alex, 100% gentleman and an really funny, down-to-earth guy. I'm a little biased as my son is half-Thai also :)
Yes, I think this is what actually happened. He want to be famous and recognize, bad publicity are the fastest way to do so. He can just apologize later to Alex and he still already make his name known to people. He targeted Alex because he knew Alex is a nice guy and will buried the hatchet later when he ask to do so
To be honest, I'm disappointed by the clickbait title. And none of that is relevant, when it comes to defamation of his personal character from this other photographer bloke.
In Christmas 2016, I was out in Doha to visit my brother who worked for the main TV station. We went down to the mail (city centre), the largest in Doha at the time. I was quite shocked to see the number of empty buildings around the Conference Centre service St. There were 3 office buildings which had just been built, but were so filthy that they obviously had nobody in them. My brother did say that this is the World Cup effect, It hadexpandedn the construction of buildings in and around the central area of Doha.
Perhaps Taidgh Barron should try and go to more races and develop a professional relationship with Alex. And you are right no driver has the obligation to stop and have their photo taken. They have other things in their minds like qualifying and the race. Thanks for keeping it real Kym.
This Taidgher's problem isn't going to be what drivers and commenters on forums or social media think of (they don't) or say about him. It's that he's got the attention of true professionals like Thommo, Vladimir Rys and other long timers. Good of Vlad to pull him aside. I wonder if this type of negative attention could be enough to have F1 Media rethink the issuance of media credentials in the future.
Sadly as a photographer myself....I've discovered that there are some in our industry that are narcissistic sociopaths. Some are selfish, rude, and downright bad people. So, I don't take what this Tai fellow proclaims to be important or give it any merit. Recall the recent incident in the news regarding the unjust and immoral act by gov't officials in raiding a man's home for a squirrel and a raccoon. Where they took them and put them both to death. This action was triggered by complaints to the NY State department about this squirrel by a photographer in Texas. The problem with todays world, everyone wants to be treated like a celebrity. Photog’s job is to take pics and not even be seen. He probably wanted a “buddy-buddy let’s take some selfies” r/ship with Albon and got rejected.
The fact that this "Professional Photographer" felt the need to ad how "he was in a hospital without health inssurance because his travel is hard" when Albon made a joke comment (I am a photographer myself... a bad one but still... and in the basis Alex is right... it is just point and shoot) shows he knew just the "complaint" itself would not garner any sympathy. Thank you Kym for publically defending Alex in this. Now.... when do we finally get one of your amazing photo's of Max signed by Max in your shop gawddanged.

Yes there is some bias but it's not a problem, it's NORMAL
