  • It's not Terrible that the plumeria is blooming now... But in my experience the inflow is very short lived indoor and falls off prematurely.
Let's cross our fingers for the inflows to survive until it goes outside in the spring :)

I feel like I live in six months of winter as well. My plants are outdoors from mid May (at the earliest) until early October.

Thanks, Bill! I enjoy hearing about the plumerias, I'm kind of obsessed with getting one but worry about the dormancy, I'll probably screw something up. Good to see others that are more dormant than this one, funny how something that looks like a pile of old sticks can turn into such a beautiful plant!

I’m not sue what an inflow is. I have half a dozen small Plumeria under approximately one million lights in the basement (Ottawa) very lush with a lot of new leaf growth. No clue what I’m doing. :) One of my plants irritates my skin. I assumed it was the plumerias but I see you’re handling them without hesitation. Maybe it’s the Desert Rose or Mangoes? Great channel. Thanks for doing this.

An inflo is their inflorescence (stem with the flowers grow from) it could be the plumeria that irritates your skin... it's their white sap you need to be careful of.. personally it doesn't bother me... but i hear it can.

@@PlantzNThings Thanks for the extra details. No obvious flowers beginning on mine. Good to know about the sap. Thanks.

I have two plumerias in pots which I planted from seed in May 2021( 1 year, 9 mth ago) . It was said they don't make flowers before the age of 5 or so, but interestingly now they have enflows [spelling wrong] on them. Am i too lucky or it's just a usual thing? I have to mention that I didn't let them go dormant. Now they are three feet tall.

That is early for inflos.. congratulations.. likely just excellent care! The earliest I've seen has been 3 years from seed.

I’m thinking a big congratulations are in order! Getting them to bloom can be tricky. I gave up on plumeria because mine kept getting spider mites😢 I think I want to try again because I love them so much. Again congratulations! ❄️💚🙃

Hi from Australia! The key to flowering start fertilising with potash from middle of winter will ensure inflows and flowers🌼

That is a pretty bloom. How warm is it in your house? I have only seen boloms in greenhouses with controlled temp. and light. I am in Southern California. Mine look like ugly bare sticks..LoL.... A few have retained some leaves that will fall soon.

Hello! I love your videos! I tried growing cuttings I had bought in Florida a long time ago without success. I live in Montreal. After I found your plumerias videos, you inspired me so much that I searched and found two florists that had two cuttings that had leaves and one is great and growing well and the other I cut last week because of root rot, so I cut it and it’s now drying out and I will try again. There’s many in the US, but I looked all over to find plumeria cuttings in Canada and wasn’t lucky … I would really like to know where you buy your seeds or cuttings? Thank you very much !

Hey there :) brugmansia Quebec has some plants for sale. The link is below. As for seed.. I just went on ebay and typed in plumeria seed... and had great success. The seed seems to have a high germination rate. brugmansia-quebec.com/boutique/en/tropical-plants/plumerias/plumeria-unknow-color-available-in-may-or-june-2023-822-en-p822c46c109

I’ve brought my plumeria inside because we’ve crossed into frost risk time. But my plumeria bloomed early October and has a few buds left still. I don’t have any space for this monster under lights. It’s in front of a window (afternoon light only) right now because I’m not sure what to do with it. This is the first season it has bloomed.Should I trim the leaves and let it go dormant? Or keep it in the light to go “semi-dormant” ?

  • @lynnechilton5794

Answer is they are dry which is what they require for the inflows and flowers. They are thinkinking it’s summer with all the dryness🌺🌼🐝

Here in Aussie I wrap the Frangipani with frost cloth which is aireable and has a protectorant film on it as they are planted in garden.Ones in pots u put undercover like you are doing .I would pull off all leaves and inflows in winter and let them start afresh in spring I’ve heard of people covering with old blanket as well🌼

What type of soil do they prefer in their pots? Also, what is the best fertilizer? I'm in Largo, FL near the Gulf.

      @PlantzNThings  Год назад

I have just used a standard potting soil, mine is peat based. If it looks a little heavy amment it with some perlite or pumice. You want it to drain freely.. i have been using miracle grow bloom booster fertilizer.. but the experts might use something different
