Thanks for the speedy review. I finished Sophie 1 this week, and pre-ordered number 2 without seeing any reviews, so I'm happy to know it should be good.
Been waiting for this review from you guys the whole week !! You’re my number one source for everything JRPG related, I have twitter and RUclips notifications from you turned on lol, your content is fantastic! Seeing this video, now I can’t wait for tomorrow to play it, it’s going to be an Atelier Sophie 2 weekend!!
I'm glad to see they paid the first game tribute while shaking things up a bit. My physical copy from of atelier Sophie 2 shipped from playasia! Now the 2-6 week wait.
I just started it at 5am, i love it. So much improvement and qol. Beautiful too and fast loading screen on ps4 pro. Can't wait to unlock more party members. Great review
I like JRPG's, but have never played an Atelier game. The most intriguing part of your review was at 2:06 stating "everything you do outside the main quest is rewarded." I love when games do that. But I'm cheap and like to wait for games to go on sale, so I probably won't buy Sophie 2 anytime soon. So my question is: Do prior Atelier games also do this as well? Like Ryza 2 or Sophie 1?
Finally, a return to a more traditional turn-based combat system. I tried playing Atelier Ryza but the gimmicky combat system just ain't doing it for me.
Ryza is the only Atelier series game I've played so far (about to finish 2 atm), and the combat feels fantastic to me. Once I got my characters to 99 in Ryza 1 with ultimate gear, I LOVED putting it on the highest difficulty and just trouncing everything. And pulling out ridiculous amounts of damage and combo hits against the weasel
Ryza combat is good but all of the items are used into a gem animation which is meh. Here in sophie they used different animations when using different items, even the skills makes it more interesting with a different camviews compared to ryza's
Great review as always. But oof having the same release date as Elden Ring. Wonder how the sales are going to perform this time. The Atelier franchise is already niche to begin with.
@@jahipalmer8782 Agree completely! While I can understand that people will like Elden Ring, it's simply not for me. I don't like those Soul-type game, because gaming has to be fun for me, and not some kind of self-punishment. I really hate those people that tell me I have to "get gut" so I can enjoy these games, and if not I am a failure as a gamer. Point is - I simply feel no urge at all to "get gut" and enjoy gaming in my way and under my conditions, thank you. Anyway - I am looking forward to Atelier Sophie 2. It's just a few hours until it unlocks at the moment of this writing (I have the Steam PC version), so almost time to dive in.
I'm not sure if it's just me, but I think I keep hearing voices in the background of this review. I mean I can hear the Atelier Sophie character barks, but I keep hearing another guy's voice.
So other than basic team up attacks is there a super or any other TP powered attacks or can you team up more than 2 players for a big damage chain? Seems like without fatale drive & core charges this battle system might be a bit lacking compared to Ryza. Any more info on combat would be great.

I think I could listen to Spencer's voice all day long! The calm and soothing sounds from Spencer pretty much sell me on any game he reviews!

Thanks for the review. I also picked up Zanki Zero because of you guys.
Nice! Man that game was pretty cool. The story gets dark haha

Shaking up some Jiggle Physics

It was between this or Elden Ring for this month and I'm glad now that I chose Sophie
good choice, by then there will be guides on how to get the best gear, how to finish all the quests and how to beat most bosses.

Ryza kinda…but not to the extent this one does. Even after 20 hours I was still unlocking stuff

I was wondering if I should buy, and this sounds promising. I'll likely buy it!
very happy to hear theyre still improving even after ryza2, sounds like a good time

We’ll get there!
Great review!
Thank you so much!
Maybe the most fun I've had in Atelier series.
thanks for the review !
Either NP is just Spencer's channel now or Azario is getting off on making him play all these JRPGs and Otomes.
omg, i never knew that theres a sequel released for Atelier Sophie, this is great news to me being a Atelier fan. love the content and thank you.
Nice! Glad we were able to inform you!
It releases tomorrow! (Feb 25th, 2022)
I am so excited for tomorrow!
is this dubbed by chance?

Yea I don’t know what they were thinking :/
Not even a close choice for me! Atelier Sophie 2 wins by a landslide.

@@jclosed2516 i just started it! Woot.
@@NoisyPixelNews This game is very niche. So it's not a big deal.
Sophie 2 is for more of the older fans, anyway.
Please tell me there isn’t a time limit for this game
There isn’t, but there is a day and night system

Hahahaha! The damn game capture also picked up our discord ramblings :P

Thanks! Its looks good. Will play in about 5 months when I'm done with Elden Ring.
Haha no judgment
Finally a REAL good game …
All for you ^_^
Sophie looks a lot like Ryza
Can I drop in into this game without previously playing anything?
Yep, there is a 10 min summary video at the title screen
Yeee they fill you in ^_^ thanks for answering this
Just so you know, I’m playing this game having never played an Atelier game before. And I’m watching this video to learn how to pronounce names 😂
Could I play this without beating the first game?
Sure. They catch you up
Cool i don't need to play 1st one
Nope :)
i prefer this to dark souls 4
Wow, so they abandoned the english dub for good. Even after all Ryza success?
No English dub dam
Yeah they gave up on English dubs for Atelier games a long time ago. I wouldn’t ever count on them coming back.
