Heat shrink wrap has been crucial for me with the wacky rig. It takes just a few minutes to put a 1/2 inch section of clear heat shrink wrap on the middle of a whole pack of worms. Each one lasts substantially longer and the action and appearance of the bait is not affected at all.
I use the same but I just have black. It still works fine for black/blue flake, green pumpkin, or junebug I can confirm. I'll have to get some clear to try next time!
Steve Rogers just did a video with 21 different brands of stick baits showing them fall weightless and with a weight and the Stick-O did NOT perform as well as the Senko or Berkley General weightless.
also- totally on the senko- dinger deal. Usually I use senko weightless; dinger w a sinker or wacky jighead. I'm always usin' baitcaster w these: sometimes ten; usually twelve or fifteen floro- i exclusively use the gamagatsu finesse wide gap. Much better hookup ratio than the octopus style- similar profile, but different. Great way to get a big bite for sure.
My Wife loves fishing the wacky. I love fishing the wacky- been using the VMC Cross Over since they first came out. Just picked up the Core Tackle weighted wacky hooks to use also. Excited to see how they work. I also make my own stick baits. I can custom my sink rates using sinking plastisol, make them float using floating plastisol. I can make them anywhere in between. I can custom my colors and add all the flash I want with flake. My favorite is a core stick bait. Clear out with orange or purple core has really proven to be my favorite.
I wanted to love the core tackle hooks, but I’ve snagged the bottom with them. I’ve lost 3 so far. I never had that issue using a straight shank finesse hook. I guess that’s Florida for ya!
Great method. Was able to trigger fish to bite last spawn season twitching sub surface. Saw a bass coming up to feed on shad every few moments this week - twitched wacky subsurface and watched it come out of cover at it! Turned away but shows it does work 😎
The hook i love to use is vmc neko hook i mostly use weedless one its nice plus its see through less visible in water i learned using longer hook better for hook ups.
Timely advice. I’m fishing a kayak tourney tomorrow and a wacky rig will be my primary bait. In practice I caught a 5 lb (20”) and 4 lb (19”) back to back within mins and had a fish knock the rod out of my hand and took my bait off the hook in between.
Well, I'll do it saturday. Got a porch demo+ rebuild to get goin' tomorrow. Seriously though; once it hits bottom-; I work it a few times, then let it sink back to bottom- swimmin it like youre talkin' works for me long as theyre aggressive.
I fish the Gary's with a # 2 G finesse heavy cover pitching hook , works well . Love the General . Will need to try the fished just under the surface method
I’ve tried so many different kinds of soft stickbaits, senko variations, and I ALWAYS wind up back with a Yamamoto, there’s just something about em. The bps version doesn’t quite have the same squish and twist in the water. My go to is just black. Original senko works shockingly well and way better, for one reason or another, than any other brand.
I work my wacky rig similar to a soft plastic jerkbait but i only move my rod tip about an inch. Just enough to git it to fold but not too much to pull it off the bottom. I have also been using the 5 inch yum dinger on a weedless wacky hook. I have been catching more bass than usual using this technique. I have also tried texas rig but they only pick it up and dont eat it.
What are some of the stick’o colors that you like that we can’t get in other senko baits company’s? Love your videos! Do you ever get up to fish Table Rock?
Hey Tyler, I’ve been checking back every few days for a couple weeks now to pick up one of your shirts but it keeps telling me you’re sold out. Are you planning on getting more XLs in soon? Thanks
Up north when the bass first move up on docks suspending looking at you like you're dumb af for trying to catch them I'll use this technique 😂. I throw it out and let it sink a little and aggressively twitch it along the whole dock without stopping back to the kayak. It's usually the bigger females that hammer it! If it's working, I'll use it to cover a lot of water..
@briangravel3231 gamakatsu finesse wide gap 3/0. I like the bigger hook for better hook up ratio, and I make my own fluorocarbon weed guard when fishing cover. Bigger hook gives room for the weed guard to compress out of the way.

What size clear are you using? Thanks
@@dylanforney780 3/8 inch
@@matthall8378 the clear 3/8 inch I find to be a perfect fit 👌
@@dylanforney780 make sure to purchase a cheap heat gun and not to use a lighter - the one I have was like 12$ last I checked and work great!

I saw that!! He broke it down, I’ve become real picky about my senkos now since watching it😂😂 I only want the best,
Lol, seen the same. Definitely not the same at all.

Weighted wacky ?
Just crimp a splitshot onto your hook. 6 dollars saved
Ive been doing this for the past week and ive been killing it. It really does work is all i got to say

I will fish it straight braid if I am in cover. 15lb braid on a spinning rod.
Great stuff!!! Lessons well learned & taken in!!! Like he BPS Stik-O's as well. Will be trying that retrieve for sure!! Stay Safe & God Bless!! 🤠👍

Just ordered two shirts and four rod sleeves. Can't wait to put them to use!
Wacky fishing is my go to method. Always on a spinning outfit. Braid to floro or sometimes straight braid. VMC weedless Neko hook. JMHO.
I personally really like using it on a casting rod. Way more control when skipping. 30 pound braid to 16-20 pound floro leader
Why don't you use 6lb line like a real fisherman? 🤔

Love your videos on both of your channels … very informative and helpful
Thank you. I appreciate you watching both!
I use 12lb Tatsu on a TFO 7' topwater rod and Shimano mgl 70 reel. I love the setup.
12 lbs tatsu 2016 shimano stella and k2 phenix 🎉🎉🎉
15lb braid to10lb pline copolymer, 36 year old Berkley graphite spinning rod and 40 year old Mitchell match LH !
Works great !

Crazy technique that worked last season..a white wacky rigged zman zinkerz twitched aggressively on top...had some crazy action
Tyler - which hook do you use with this technique? Or with your floating worms?
David Dudley, BPT, has been slaying them with his goofy whacky worm! It works.
To me he's the king of the wacky. Just my opinion.

Great video and information thank you
Bass pro shops has some other good baits too Crack craw big ribbon worm
When you going back to cedar it’s getting hot right now
Who makes the best spinning rod.
It's all preference..... I love/use Dobyns Xtasy spinning rods
That bass pro sticko stick bait has no action unless you’re use a weighted wacky hook
Need more extra long casting rod gloves! Dying to get some
Just got them back actually. They’ll be live on the site in a few minutes
I'm not patient enough for a weigtless Yum Dinger, but it has good action with a flick shake head.
