eivor is a classically trained sopran with a masters degree in traditional nordic vocal techniques. born 1983 she already has more than 25 years of experience as a professional musician and her vocal skills outshines everyone else effortlessly.
I saw her live on Saturday. She is remarkable and, magical though these recordings are, and the recorded music (her latest album is fabulous), seeing her live is next level - she is fantastic. A great writer, musician, singer, beautiful and charismatic. One of the best gigs by one of the best singers I've seen.
I was yesterday on a concert of Eivor. It is outstanding! Now she is on Tour in Europe and Australia ;). When you have some time, go there! Her new album is grateful too. Please react Jarðartrá, Enn, Í Tokuni, True Love, Vøka or her other Songs. Her songs are particularly and worth listening.
This is Eivør's world and we're all just living in it lol Welcome! I had the pleasure to see her live for the second time last night and she is absolutely magical! Since you enjoyed this, you'd probably also like her song "True Love" (live in LA at Sofar). For something completely different, you should check out her performance of Tróllabundin live with the Danish Symphony Orchestra, as well as Salt, also with the orchestra. (Any of her performances with them are worth checking out, tbh). Great reaction, thank you :)
Eivør is her name (full name Eivør Pálsdóttir). She plays with her band, but also with orchestras. Her first name is pronounced like Ay-vor (the o in "vor" like the o in "world"). She doesn't sing one specific genre. She plays/sings (nordic) folk, jazz, art pop, folk rock, classical music, synth pop etc. She sings in her mother tongue Faroese, in English, Danish, Swedish and Icelandic. If you've seen the series “The Last Kingdom” on Netflix, you've heard Eivør sing the soundtrack to it. Her folk song "Trøllabundin" with some throat singing is quite an experience. There is an older live version of her singing outdoors in a fjord: ruclips.net/video/wsl-KHGe4Kk/видео.html and a more recent version with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra: ruclips.net/video/Ne4kFBmDsXY/видео.html
@@richardsinfinity her sister elínborg is also well worth to look into. she is produced by her sister, of course. there is for example the song sjórok in different versions available, all of them are really good.

Eivor is the greatest vocalist I have ever seen. Great songwriter also.
Eivor is usch a Queen and I’m so happy I got to see her a few weeks ago. She’s a Nordic godess. So special.
This is one of my top ten songs. Love her voice.
