She can readily make a grown man cry with her lyrics and presentation. I wonder at my advanced age just what has hit her in life that gave her this rare gift of emotional control on her listeners. Her song "remember me" really touches the heart. She does from time to time home concerts like she did this last month along with a Christmas concert that's worth the money!
When you really love an artist, it's interesting to watch others' reactions as they discover them as well, and I find myself on youtube often looking for new reaction videos of Eivor. To me, her talent is so unparalleled and her music so flawless and beautiful and emotive and so many other things I can't put into words. It was great seeing you experience such an emotional reaction at times to this song. You're clearly a feeler and so am I, so your reaction has been my favourite because you felt this song as deeply as I did and had the same awe as it ended. There aren't enough feelers in the world! Keep being you and DEFINITELY heave yourself down the rabbithole of her music. You won't be sorry!
I felt I had to reply, as I 💯 feel what you are saying. Eivør is nothing short of magical, her voice moves me to tears. Just pure talent that comes from deep within her heart and soul❤️
I started listening to Eivor by following the 'voice' behind the soundtrack of 'The Last Kingdom'. I now cherish listening to her happy, glad or sad. I can meditate, float, and basically feel alive when I listen to her. Eivor is a gift from above,.....Angels are real.
Yes! Finally. I did tell you several times you would love Eivør. Eivør sings in english and in faroese. She lives here in Denmark with her husband and during the corona lockdown in the spring some of the most uplifting moments for me was a series of live sessions she did from her living room. There is so many great songs. I usually go down a rabbit hole with her, I can't only listen to one song. I suspect I will be delving right now in fact. The first song I fell in love with of hers was "@" or "Into the mist" (it comes in an english and a faroese version as most of her songs does). I am also quite fond of "Rain (Stripped back acoustic version)" and "Surrender (London Solo Sessions)". And of cause you will end up watching "Tròdlabùndin (Trøllabundin)" because it such a spectacular performance. Oh, and "True Love" of cause. And after that I will give you some deeper dives. Happy listening, Adam.
Exact. It ends in a rabbit hole with her every time. Nothing really compares to her music, so you are both locked and floating with her until you sleep.
So, she's recently released her new album! There are lots of good songs. Though my favourite ones are definitely: "Trøllabundin", "Í Tokuni", "Verd Mín", "True Love", "Sált". Also, you REALLY have to check out her live perfomance (from home) of the opening song to the series called "The Last Kingdom". It's really kinda tribal, authentic and passionate. And lot's of your favoutite vocalization ;)
You said it perfectly! She is the epitome of "I may not be able to find the words to describe how I feel, but I can play a song for you." She has a soul mate to perform with so much emotion.
i’m a HUGE Aurora and Susanne Sundør fan, Röyksopp, and now I can add Eivør to my list of amazing talents. thank you for the reaction and introduction to her!
Those Nordic musicians, eh?! I discovered her through Aurora. (Aurora fans pointing out Eivør's music). Definitely check out another commentor's suggestion to react to Eivør's Norway outdoor performance of her own composition Trodlabundin. You will recognize the elements of that vocalizing. Having it in that stunning natural setting (a world heritage site) is incredible. She showcases her throat singing, too, in this one. A gorgeous and talented voice.
Greate reaction as alwsys😊 I also recommend you listen to this vertion of «Trodlabundin». It is outstanding! There is another Norwegian artist you should listen to: Ingebjørg Bratland. I think she might be your cup of tea. Try listen to her cover of Bob Dylan’s «Make you feel my love» in Norwegian («Fordi eg elskar deg»). m.ruclips.net/video/5A5kK3FnThM/видео.html
I totally agree. I also got touched to see your reaction :) Am so lucky myself, to live in the Faroe Islands and have tended several concerts. Just WAIT until you experience her live!
Finally someone else has discovered Eivør! That was exactly the reaction that I had -STUNNING and all of your other comments. I discovered Eivør through the British historical drama series, “The Last Kingdom” - she provides the amazing vocals on the theme track. More than that, Eivør and Jon Dunn are the composers for the whole show. Adam, you should listen to the whole concert that Falling Free comes from - the concert is called “The Swing - live in the the Old Theatre. Tórnshavn. Faroe Islands. It goes for about an hour. I’m so pleased that you have discovered her.
You've been bewitched and now there is no escaping. I've been listening to her almost exclusively for 6 months now and working my way through her back catalogue, amazing artist.
Great reaction!!! Eivør is amazing. Her vocals are out of this world...she's like a grown up version of Aurora...a bit more rock sometimes Check out her TRUE LOVE live at Sofar los angeles. And TRØLLABUNDIN live
I think this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I have ever heard. Just discovered her in 2021 and thank God for that!.....and I just heard your comments at the end, feel the same way!
This is an incredible artist and a showcase of a song, highlighting her musical and songwriting ability in addition to her most amazing voice. Ethereal. Angelic. Transcending. Must listen to this over and over...
I heard her performance on Tròdlabùndin, years ago, but this year i litterally jumped on her albums, one after others and every time she drives me in different journeys. Her music re-linked me with my far scandinavian roots so beautifully.
What a massively gorgeous voice. Such smooth transitions up to the higher range. No cracks. She's not pushing up the high notes but dancing on top of them. Wow!
Since I know this song, I can not listen to it without crying, no matter how often I listen to it, it has such a beautiful arrangement and the filming with the other musicians.. perfect. I also love 'The swing' on that concert or 'verd min'
She is beyond amazing. Her voice and music are at a level I have never experienced before. Also, her albums are mixed very well, with lots of dynamic range so you can appreciate what she can do. Use your best IEM's.
It's amazing to see your reaction😃. Eivør is just raw talent and it comes from her soul. Every time I listen to Eivør I cry. Her voice has such emotion❤️
One thing can be said with absolute certainty: an Eivor performance commands your attention. Whether it's a heartbreakingly emotional and beautiful tune or an overwhelmingly powerhouse one, that voice leaves you transfixed, like the proverbial deer in the headlights. I'm so happy you've "discovered" her and, as she's been performing for more than 20 years, there's quite a catalog of songs to explore. Another favorite of mine is "Wake Me Up" and I suggest the live seven-minute version on RUclips. Her live performances are always more impressive than the studio recordings. She recently released a new album "Segl" and several of those songs are also available on RUclips. "Gullspunnin" (live) is exceptional!! Happy listening!
Wow, again a reaction to another artist I absolutely adore!❤️ I’m glad you loved it. I suggest her song Trøllabundin! There’s a live version which is so amazing and it just sounds like mountain spirits singing right into your soul (it’s also a setting in the mountains) the video is called: "eivør pálsdóttir tròdlabùndin (trøllabundin) - 10.08.13"
Personnaly I prefer this version of this outstanding song : ruclips.net/video/wfDJzmNXDuQ/видео.html And all the songs of this concert are amazingly great (True love, Far away...)
Omg I want every reaction channel to react to this video it's my all time favorite. I love eivor and everyone should hear her in their lifetime in my opinion!
She does a lot of the music in "the last Kingdom" (I'm sure it's kingdom) on Netflix! She is yet another other worldly performer, absolutely faultless live
My favorite from her!!! Long ago I had been suggesting her to many reactors but have quit trying because nobody responded. Thanks for this! That was such a lovely surprise. Eivor surely worths more exposure in YT!
Yes!!!! Thank you so much for reacting to this. I requested this about 2 or 3 months ago. I kinda gave up. Never thought you’d actually get around to it.
Isnt she just wonderful?--- Ive been listening to her music for just over a year now and she is so enchanting that even the songs sung in her native tongue have bewitched me --- the emotion she presents to us is so pure and on a subconsciousness level touches my soul --- Please listen to more ! --- I cannot understand how she is virtuously unknown here
Hi, Eivor is incredible! I love especcially "Trollabundin", "I Tokuni" "True love" and lately "Patience". Above all You should check out "The last Kingdom" soundtrack album with her :) I've discovered her just in the same time - during pandemic- and it gives me since than chills all the way :) Great reaction video 😊 by the way, love to see someone did have the same amount of jaw dropping as I did for the first listening of her 😝
What a treat, almost fainted when I came across this! One of my favourite reactors reacting to one of my favourite artists, singing one of my favourite songs! 😍 Thank you so much for that truly amazing reaction! 🙌
Yesssss! I knew you'd love Eivør. She's amazing and one of my friends is a tour manager for her. Such an amazing singer, songwriter, performer and lovely person as well. If you want more of her, I'd recommend checing out "Bridges" from the same live concert or the official music video for "Í Tokuni".
Usually when I've never heard of an artist, it's for a reason - once I listen, it's a bit "meh". Not so with this, I'm surprised I haven't heard her before (or had her suggested by an algorithm). Thank you for bringing her to my attention. Almost a bit scary, to think of all the "unknown" amazing artists out there.
I just learned about Eivør recently, and went on a youtube binge of her music the other night. Phenomenal musician, though that might be an understatement.
Absolutely agree with you. She is in a league of her own. The band, perfect. accompaniament for her soulful, whimsical perfection. Listen/watch Patience. Watch them all. Exquisite excellence.
Your reaction was mine TO THE T, when I heard her at a Swedish music festival back in 2010. And that was live, it felt like I had died and gone to heaven. Check out her earlier songs too, a little faster and meaner than the later stuff! The sond "Undo your mind" was the first one I heard, it is AMAZING
She tours with a sound tech who is a active part of her performances, he’s tweeking the reverb and delay on almost every phrase. She cares about what is presented to her audiences.
@@georgelynch6139 I know the guy, George. Was standing beside him when I was filming at Oran Mor, also had a wee chat with him after the Edinburgh gig a few months later. Nice big bloke.
On the journey you are, it wasn't the question if you ever would come across Eivør, the question only was when. Yes, another one of those nordic treasures.
Thank you for reacting to Eivor, she's fabulous and from the tiny Faroe Islands. Please check out her version of the Icelandic song " Heir Himna Smiður" if you want something different....
UNKNOWN TO 99 PERCENT OF THE WORLD AND MAYBE THE BEST SINGER IN THE WORLD. HER VOICE IS BY ITSELF 5 INSTRUMENTS. HYPNOTIC ENCHANTING WITH STUNNING TAMBOUR AND CONTROL AND MAYBE PERFCT PITCH. NOBODY LIKE HER-- NOW OR EVER. SHAME ON US FOR NOT KNOWING OF HER UNTIL 5 DAYS AGO. SHE IS 35 IN THIS VIDEO.
Eivør is stupendous! What a beautiful song and a magnificent voice. I just discovered her today and I've lost count how many times I've played her video this evening and just came across your reaction. Oh my goodness, what a fantastic artist she is! Your reaction mirrors my own! ❤👏👏👏👏👏👏
I had to pause your reaction for a while to take a phone call so just finished the last few minutes or so and yes her vocalisation was wonderful. It's hard to fathom how many wonderful artists are out there from so many countries that I've discovered through RUclips rabbit holes these past two years. It's wonderful!
I've seen Eivor live a couple of times already and have tickets to see her again in October. She absolutely captivates the audience. Is she a siren? Is she a fairy? She is amazing.
Adam, thank you from the bottom of my heart for your fantastic reaction to Eivor. My reaction was pretty much the same back in early April, just after the lockdown began, which was when I discovered Eivor for myself, when someone posted one of her videos on Aurora's Warriors page on Facebook. Eivor Pálsdóttir was born in the Faroe Islands on 21st July 1983. She has a stunningly beautiful voice, which can be as soft as a summer breeze or as powerful that she can even drown out an electric guitar. Her music is very diverse, and she can do almost anything from folk pop, electro pop, jazz, and can even sing classically. Also, if you have seen the BBC2/Netflix series, "The Last Kingdom", then you will already have heard Eivor, as she voices the entire soundtrack to all four series, along with Scottish composer John Lunn. I would love to see you react to more of Eivor, and if I may suggest, the following are just a few noteworthy songs; firstly, from her latest album - released in September 2020, and titled "SEGL" (translates as SAIL) a couple of live performances which have only been posted in the last few days, "Gullspunnin", ruclips.net/video/_1pAKeTjgLE/видео.html&ab_channel=%C3%ADLuftini and "Let it come", ruclips.net/video/FBmfMLXya-A/видео.html&ab_channel=Eiv%C3%B8r Then from 2018, "True Love" live at Sofar Los Angeles, ruclips.net/video/NA5dnFUh-EU/видео.html&ab_channel=SofarSounds From 2013/2015, "Tròdlabùndin" (Trøllabundin), ruclips.net/video/wsl-KHGe4Kk/видео.html&ab_channel=1210beth From 2020, "Lívstræðrir" from The Last Kingdom, with John Lunn, ruclips.net/video/mSwHRMxtnEY/видео.html&ab_channel=Eiv%C3%B8r And from 2016, Eivor Palsdottir and Disella Larusdottir live in Reykjavik perform "Pie Jesu" by Andrew Lloyd Webber, ruclips.net/video/wPOW8UmpQWE/видео.html&ab_channel=Sena%C3%8Dsland
THAT final note 😍 last year during the summer she did loads of live Twitch broadcasts from her home in Copenhagen to keep her fans happy as gigs everywhere were being cancelled, and yes she sounded just as good then too, she really is incredible live.
I discover Eivor for a couple of months. I can't spend a day without hearing this angel powerful voice. I also like when she sings in Faroese, even if I don't understand the words, the emotions are universal. I'm not very well nowadays and every time I hear songs from her, it soothes me and she has an incredible mesmerized and pure voice.
Same here completely agree. Best creation I've ever heard best voice and those instruments taking for another world journey. Pure perfection, on top of that it is life performance 90% of singers cant sing even after studio tweaking.
@@AdamStraughan I noticed it, will do tonight! I've been a huge fan for a few years, now it's both my wife and I :), We can't wait for the end of lockdown to rent a car and drive to Denmark and see her live, finally!
And yet you have a slightly better chance than the Russians now. This pointless damn war destroyed a huge lot of things, including my dream to see Eivor live :(
Haha, just came back to this today, it makes me smile from the moment you say. ‘Ooh, hello’ and your face and expressions say it all. I still think it’s one of the most powerful and beautiful performances I’ve ever seen.
Holy just when I needed it Batman! Today was a day of bad news whether from DC or Downing Street or just being created here in these four walls and I had to switch off the TV news and lay down. I saw this on my feed and now I've heard it, I think life will be forever different. It was the mountains and the snow and the cattle coming back to her as that voice/yodel cuts through the gale force winds and I'm transported back over to Norway, where I spent a year a long time ago. I know she's færøyese which makes it seem all the wilder. I wasn't sure if I was going to cry, laugh, pass out,or be sick while I was listening to it, it was so intense but hell's teeth I needed to hear this tonight. Thank you Eivør and you Adam for opening this portal!
I love your sincere reaction of this song. I also got emotional after hearing this live version of it. Goosebumps and watering eyes at the same time. Great work!
One year ago I was very new Eivor's fan, I wrote a Facebook message telling her that I started watching The Last Kingdom because of her music - you know what, it took a few minutes and I've got a "heart" from Eivor herself + a small, nice "thank you" message.... And, you will not find many artists who just sometimes comes up in Facebook with the message: "Hi Guys! How are you today? What are you listening to? Can you recommend something to me?"
Thank you Adam for such heartfelt reaction. It reminds my own first touching to Eivør's music and voice. I was immediately fell in love... Please also listen these recordings - ruclips.net/video/9YSFr9Zi00k/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/MS8LlQ8RFNA/видео.html . Both are absolutely stunning.
Loved your reaction! You can't listen to Eivør, if you can't feel. She hits your soul, and you can't escape it. When one has come under Eivør's spell, there is no way back - and ofc I mean that, in a wonderful way. :) Welcome to the world of Eivør. There is alot to dig into, she has - in fact, been active since she only was 13. Here is more about her... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eiv%C3%B8r_(singer)
There'll (hopefully) be such by Eivør -senses the rest of your life. Thought mine was gone, but then great art appearenced once again, and here I am. Actually -there's such artists all over the world. All over. all over the world.
I love watching this video. It's so cute. You are so completely blown away as I was when I first heard this song :) It's something... interstellar. BTW try to listen to this song while watching pictures/videos of space. It's a perfect match.
I’m late to discover Eivør as well, but this song, surprisingly, wasn’t the first to instantly strike me. “Rain” also did that, but was my second introduction to her music- she co-writes the soundtrack for a Netflix show I enjoy, The Last Kingdom, and her work on the theme song stirred something real in me. Wave after wave of magic with this one, something Otherworldly and astounding and singular… what a gift. It was wonderful to watch your reaction! I can’t listen to this and not get goosebumps and teary-eyed every single TIME! Just amazing. Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏽✌🏽
Can we all just take a minute to appreciate that this was recorded live...
I heard Eivor for the first time about a week ago and experienced exactly the same emotions. Her voice is simply mesmerizing.
Eivor is just out of this world! The beauty in her voice and the fantastic deep lyrics. Everything is spot on. And to top it off THIS....IS...LIVE!!
I cried the first time 💕😭 with the sublime beauty of her vocal talent
You're not alone, friend. ❤
I couldn't tell you how many times I have listened to this song and it still brings tears to my eyes too.

Been a fan of hers for over 2 years now and the love gets deeper every time I listen to this song...
Been a fan for a few years now, so welcome to the club!
Again a wonderful reaction .Adam thank you for introducing some amazing artists...like you I have to get this album ....
Yesssss! I knew you'd love Eivør. She's amazing and one of my friends is a tour manager for her. Such an amazing singer, songwriter, performer and lovely person as well. If you want more of her, I'd recommend checing out "Bridges" from the same live concert or the official music video for "Í Tokuni".
Oh wow that’s amazing! And thanks :)
Thank you for introducing us all to this beautiful young lady!
Hi Adam. People tend to forget that this is a live version, minus any studio effects. She's amazing, and if you get the chance,go see her !
THANK YOU!!
I would love to see you react to more of Eivor, and if I may suggest, the following are just a few noteworthy songs; firstly, from her latest album - released in September 2020, and titled "SEGL" (translates as SAIL) a couple of live performances which have only been posted in the last few days,
"Gullspunnin", ruclips.net/video/_1pAKeTjgLE/видео.html&ab_channel=%C3%ADLuftini
and "Let it come", ruclips.net/video/FBmfMLXya-A/видео.html&ab_channel=Eiv%C3%B8r
Then from 2018, "True Love" live at Sofar Los Angeles, ruclips.net/video/NA5dnFUh-EU/видео.html&ab_channel=SofarSounds
From 2013/2015, "Tròdlabùndin" (Trøllabundin), ruclips.net/video/wsl-KHGe4Kk/видео.html&ab_channel=1210beth
From 2020, "Lívstræðrir" from The Last Kingdom, with John Lunn, ruclips.net/video/mSwHRMxtnEY/видео.html&ab_channel=Eiv%C3%B8r
And from 2016, Eivor Palsdottir and Disella Larusdottir live in Reykjavik perform "Pie Jesu" by Andrew Lloyd Webber, ruclips.net/video/wPOW8UmpQWE/видео.html&ab_channel=Sena%C3%8Dsland
"Ave Maria" performed by Eivør in 2009 - ruclips.net/video/rf9mvhkVZqg/видео.html . It is one of most beautiful songs that I heard.
Finally! Thank you!
J'ai réagi de la même façon et ai ressenti la même émotion en écoutant ce morceau la première fois ❤️
She’s epically epic.
Welcome to the Eivor club, Adam! :))))
Thanks! Make sure you check out my latest reaction to her too! 😁
@@AdamStraughan I noticed it, will do tonight! I've been a huge fan for a few years, now it's both my wife and I :), We can't wait for the end of lockdown to rent a car and drive to Denmark and see her live, finally!
I cry watching it. I cannot imagine having the chance to hear her & her band live. :( I'm in WA, AU. No chance
Best reaction ever! Do Eivor Morning song next!
Hahah, I love this reaction! She's amazing!
Her music is stunning and varied 😀 that song that version is on the album Slor it’s a stunning album. It is what got me in to her music.
As I always say to my friends: “I’m EIVORed”
🤣😂🤩 Love it!
It's lovely seeing such a genuine reaction to one of my fave singers. I'm watching her perform live tomorrow and I hope she'll play this song.
Thank you! Please be sure to check out my other reactions to her and also the video when I got the chance to meet her after a live show 😁
I've seen a handful of reactors to this performance and not ONE has commented on her incredible, beautiful guitar work right from the get go.
It truly is fantastic and emotive
Dude, you need to download about 7 of her albums - they all have epic tracks
There'll (hopefully) be such by Eivør -senses the rest of your life. Thought mine was gone, but then great art appearenced once again, and here I am. Actually -there's such artists all over the world. All over. all over the world.
I heard live for the first time this epic song at Prague. Most beautiful enjoyment of my life🙏 since then it is once from my top songs!!!!
This is a beautiful reaction video. Thank you.
YES!!! I've just recently gotten into her music (thanks to Beth Roars) and it's just soooo deeply beautiful and emotional.
Ooh, new musician to check out :0 this is incredible, I love voices like this
There is way more Eivør.... I'm sure you will love it.
Insanely amazing!!!!!!!
