He sold everything and moved to the Philippines - sight unseen! Without ever visiting here, Eric decided to make the Philippines his home, and left the comforts of the United States behind. Is he foolish? Is he reckless? Or did he do his homework, and create a plan to escape to paradise? Perhaps only time will tell, but one thing's for sure - he sold everything he owned and moved to the Philippines to follow his dream!

The effort that goes into these videos, combined with Pea’s kindness, intellect, and talent, ensures a great video, every time.

@@Tropicaya My two cents:
You must, I repeat, you must sell everything, all your possessions , all your assets.
And then find a Filipino woman , give her all the cash you have accumulated.
This is the secret to eternal Bliss and happiness.
😂@@dongshengdi773 🤣
Pea. You are very well read
I think he is right. The reason I was attracted to your channel is that you are not a typical Filipina. You are the best of both cultures.
THANKS for that 👍
I do have a unique perspective 😊
That's the way I feel too Miss Pea you're helping a lot guys out.
And you're easy on the eye too so that helps!😂 LOL
A fine interview Miss Pea. This is a guy with his stuff together, organized and had a plan for retirement. His last marriage left him burnt but not broken. I hope he enjoys his life in the Philippines.
So far so good (I hope) 👍👍🤣
"Burnt out but not broken". I think that's an unfortunate side effect for a lot of men in the West. I know that I've reached a point in my life that I have no particular desire to get married again, and a lot of my divorced male friends feel the same way. I'm not opposed to it, but I'd be perfectly fine with just having someone to share my day to day life with.
It took me a good 10 years to fully recover financially from my divorce, and mine wasn't nearly as expensive or traumatizing as some of my friends. I think here, in the US at least, the divorce process leaves a lot of men with a bad taste in their mouth. The idea of taking the risk to go through that again...is not appealing.
(I'm not anti-marriage - it's just not the priority it was for me earlier in my life).
u miss ur ex-husband huh?
Green Acres is the place to be..
@@alreyes446: Uhh you need help. I’m a guy.
Been happily married to a filipina for 5 years now we met in my home country. And she's a breath of fresh air. I'm. Still dealing with the emotional turmoil from my previous wife. But she has restored my faith in women. 🙏Keep up the great work pea.
Good for you!
Nice to hear that mate!
I don't know if blue is your favorite color, but it is definitely YOUR color. Both the dress in the intro and your outfit in the video truly suited you well and complement your skin tone. Excellent interview once again! Have a lovely weekend, and we'll see you next Tuesday.
I think U two should hook uP!😉
I guess I need to get some more blue dresses then! 👍😊
Pea, another great interview.
Vote blue 🔵 😊
I'm sure Eric appreciates your compliment.
This guy today is totally right. Even in the Philippines you are rare. Your curiosity and personality are so beautiful. You are the kind of girl a smart guy looks for.
This guy is the smartest interviewee I've seen in a looong time. A real observer & thinker. Well done, Pea. 👏🏻
Well thanks. That was very kind but Pea takes all the credit for making me comfortable in the interview.

What a refreshing video. Thank you, Pea!
I hope it works out just as well for you 👍👍
Good luck sir, plan, take your time

Hey Ms Pea. What an enjoyable conversation for all of us to enjoy. Eric’s spot on. Your education, personality and creativity shine through in all of your vlogs. You have the best communication skills going around. Wishing Eric all the best and thanks for sharing! 🙏
Thank you. I was a little nervous about doing the interview but Pea made things very easy for me and comfortable.
He was right when he said Thank You Pea! Your videos are very helpful!
Agreed
First reaction was 'Wow, that's taking a risk!' but then I remembered from when I was a kid. Many families in the UK upped and emigrated to New Zealand, Australia, Canada without ever having been abroad before! I have relatives in two of those countries who took advantage of subsidised sea fares to set up life in those places. Maybe we've become too casual about international travel now? Wish him luck, thanks for the interview Pea! 🙏🏻🌹
What were they going to find? Jobs? Or just a better life in general?
But the Philippines has nowhere near the quality of life like in Australia, UK and New Zealand.
Something that I’m considering.
@@TheFilipinaPea A new life I think. Jobs were arranged before they travelled.

I did this same thing 10 years ago and im happier than ive ever been . My Philippina of 10 years is great 👍

Pea made the interview very comfortable. She is the type of person you can talk to for a long time and don't realize the time.

Never give up your citizenship, no 🥺👍👍
You can get dual citizenship if you marry a Filipino 😊
This was an EXCELLENT Interview and video!! You are not a "typical Filipina' Pea and that is what makes you so special ...!
Great interview Pea. I think he represents how most of us men are. I am older but looking for a safer more SANE lifestyle.Simple and friendly is what I desire.
Pea:
Awesome interview with Eric. Your comment at the end about "Green Acres" made me laugh because I was remembering the TV show and it was one of my favorites back in the day. With all the videos of yours and every other video I've seen on YT your comment about that RV show really hits the nail on the head. The Philippines may be awkward to Westerners when they first experience the culture, but at the same time it's fresh, cute and fun. Please don't get me wrong about that. Personally for me, I think the differences in culture would be an enjoyable change to what I have experiences my entire life here in North America. Just like in auto racing, if you can't win on a track, try a different one.
Keep up the AWESOME work my friend!
A follow up interview with Eric would be great--now that it's 3 months later. He is right though, that you're a bit of a unicorn, because you display western sensibilities and humor.
I agree on both accounts
She is a cool girl.

Pea,
Thanks for this video.
This guy have BIG BALLS and is not afraid to take risks.
I still various years to retire and I'm planning visiting Philippines at least 3 times before deciding to retire there.
This guy moved there without hesitation.
Really a check there needs 45 days to clear in your bank account? Damnnn, that's rough
Here in the US, if the check is small (say less than $1,000), all of it will be available immediately. If is a big amount (say $10,000), the bank will make a portion of the check immediately available (e.g. $2,000) and clear the rest in a week.. In one ocassion I got a check for approx. $7,000. I spoke with the bank manager. She allow me to get $3,000 cash and deposit the rest. The rest of the money was available in a week or so.
I've never understood these checks... (I saw it in US movies, someone just write number to paper and subscribe it - but how is it secured? How it could still work in 21st century? 😯) What is it good for? When I was 18, I simply opened account and get debit card. (here in EU) It is super secured by pin, limits, insurance, chip (hard to copy), mobile phone lock and magnetic strip could be disabled to prevent simple copying.
Great video

This video was "right on". His assessment in such a short period of time is, well, "right on". I've been here, as of 3 days ago, 11 years and I have found what he stated to be accurate. The difference between he and I are I'm not a beach lover but a lover of concrete. I like the big city feel being from New York, Atlanta and Cleveland, also San Juan. His opinion regarding money was, too, right on, and it is KEY, very KEY, to know and to define your purpose living here especially when you're retired and have an exorbitant amount of time on your hands. I recently went through a period of depression about "purpose", being 67 and thinking will every day be as it has been the past 11 years. It could very well be and would that be so bad? If you are going to be "retired", one must lower their expectations as compared to being gainfully employed. Your whole entire outlook must change and is it so bad to be staring at an ocean setting, or over a golf course, as I do in my condo, enjoying each and every sunny day, warm temperatures and ease of life. Sometimes, realizing the blessing we are living daily is to be appreciated for what it is, a blessing, as compared to what so many suffer through daily.
I really enjoyed reading your thoughts. Not everyone comes with good intentions.
A very good interview and I hope that his plan goes to fruition, and I do hope that the world cooperates, as things change...And he like other ex-pats are happy over there and living well. Peace

Good obs that Pea is Western w/o the edge.
Great interview Pea. I agree with Eric that it is important to have some regular source of income before moving anywhere. That's true even moving from state to state in the USA. The economy isn't what it used to be here. I had to adjust my sense of humor when chatting with some Filipinas online. Their use of English is excellent however they are very literal when it comes to jokes and didn't realize when I was joking. I noticed 3 guys with firearms walking past in the background. Security or police I would guess. Good that no one was alarmed. I always pay attention to things like that as many public places may not be safe and sometimes it's not always the good guys who are armed. I agree with Eric about your videos and advice. You have helped many more people than you may realize with important decisions like relocating and retirement and understanding the similiarities and differences between Western and the Philippine cultures Pea. Eric was 100% correct about dating and/or approaching women in the West. This has become an impossible situation for many men. Thank goodness that is not the case yet in the Philippines.
Alot of soldiers patrol and police the streets along with security and police
Most security dont have guns but some do depending on where they work

One day, my wish is to be interviewed by yourself, so that I can say almost everything that Eric said but in a different way.
