Enterprise rents cars for $100.00 a week with unrestricted miles. I haven't rented one in 3 years but they are the best. Never rent a car close to an airport. All Car Rentals are WAY more expensive when they are close to the airports to get the out-of-towners. (common knowledge).
I never thought for one second that wearing the Red White Blue was disrespectful . As a matter of fact I felt honored when saw your swim suit . When I am in Phill it also makes me feel honored when I see the Filipinos wearing American flags on their shirts or swim suits .
Agreed!! I was very proud to see our amazing Pea wearing a red, white, and blue bikini!! I was honored to see you showing your peaceful and subtle appreciation Pea. And of course, you are always easy on the eyes!☺️❤ Thank you for sharing your wisdom and unique way of bringing people together!❤❤ Try Oregon and the west coast next time!😉😉
Whoever told you that wearing the American flag is offensive was probably someone from the newer generations. They've lost their sense of identity in being American and are apologetic for being American. Pay no mind to them. Most of us are proud that you were willing to wear the flag, even if it is not your own. Keep up the good work Pea!
I'm millenial. I hate saying this, but you're right. I have seen this before and.... well, it doesn't break my heart so much as it gives me a headache that pain medication won't cure. A country's flag shouldn't be seen as a statement whenever someone chooses to wear it, however the newest generation over here really will take it too far with ideology.
Wearing something with a flag pattern on it is very acceptable to most, but not wearing an actual flag. The people who hate USA flag clothes are people who hate the USA and should probably leave the USA.
It's not offensive at all, it's just that the people who are OVERLY blindly patriotic tend to rep the flag literally everywhere and it's annoying. They also tend to all be pretty like minded in all categories of beliefs. This isn't just an American thing. Most of Europe is exactly the same. You won't find too many people flying the Union Jack anywhere in England. I don't own a single piece of clothing with an American flag on it.
If someone is right-leaning and have their ideas of how they believe the country would be better, it's for the sake of their country. If someone is left-leaning and have their ideas of how they believe the country would be better, it's for the sake of their country. If someone is independent and have their ideas of how they believe the country would be better, it's for the sake of their country. It's the flag of their country. It doesn't (or shouldn't) imply political affiliation, just that they love their country.
Good morning, Ms. Pea! As a veteran and citizen of the US, I was in no way offended by your choice of swim wear. I found it respectful and you showing to honor our great country that you have the pleasure of visiting. Don't let the naysayers deter you, you're not going to win everyone over. Keep doing what you're doing and you will see that most of your fans are appreciative of your efforts. Take care and safe travels!
AMEN, sutton75, and thank you Sir, for your Service. You showed up, you signed up and were ready to die for America. That alone gives you Hero status. My hat's off to you.
As a veteran, I'm not offended that the Pea wore a flag bathing suit. However I am deeply offended when so-called faux Patriots cut a hole in the flag and where it is a poncho, or a sweat rag, a handkerchief, or any other clothing items in an effort to seem patriotic. If you respect flag, then you respect the flag code. It was written by men and women who sacrificed more than you will ever know defending our country.
The personal space thing is accurate to a degree. If you force a bunch of people together, sure, we'll make concessions and be fine with how close others can get. What upsets us is someone getting super close when there is plenty of room. Standing in line at the grocery store, only 3 people lined up, I don't need someone standing close enough to me for our pants to be touching when you have the space to sleep on the ground.
Agreed. When standing with someone in conversation a few feet of space is probably right. When sitting next to someone about a foot it's normal, avoiding touching hips or thighs.
There is nothing wrong with a beautiful woman wearing a patriotic bathing suit. That has been around forever. In America, because of free speech, there are many opinions on everything, and people aren't afraid to share them, no matter how crazy their thoughts may be. Your other observations, including about rules and fairness, are 100% correct.
I second this user's comment! There are plenty of Americans that wear red, white and blue swimsuits as well as other wear. Whoever told Pea that was offensive is just wrong. Now there are many Americans with almost any opinion you can think of, we are the 3rd most populated nation in the world after all. That's another thing about the US, you have to get used to the fact that there are weirdos almost everywhere. Just ignore them like the normal Americans do.
@@xm47ecr36 obviously you didn't listen to the don't in he video. No politics. But since you went there, clearly she wasn't profiled by a Maga or they would of probably gave her a 2a t-shirt or a MAGA hat. It had to be a flag burning America hating liberal that would be offended by our flag.
I remember back in the 1970s and 1980s, flag themed clothing became popular, and there were some people that thought flag pants, or flag patches for back pockets was disrespectful since you sit on the flag, but I haven't heard those comments in over 30 years, and even back then it wasn't a widely held opinion.
Whom ever told you about wearing that swim suit was disrespectful was full of crap. I loved the fact you went and got that! You looked great in it. I'm a US Marine, you did it more right wearing that swim suit. I'm sorry you're getting bad advice about wearing our colors was rude. That's showing respect, and I really appreciated that. You're in our country at a bad time. Thank you for coming here and experiencing what we are like. Sounds of it your having a great time.
@@PostofficejoeThe complaint probably came from someone that knows they look horrible in a bikini. So instead of complimenting someone else they would rather try to find someway to tear them down 😖
There is absolutely nothing wrong with you wearing an American flag bathing suit. Many American women also wear it. I'm glad that you're showing support for our country. Don't let the others bring you down. Wear it and be proud!
Absolutely! The only people I see get upset are either leftists or those that really don’t understand what flag etiquette really means. And also women who look horrible in bikinis 😁
I'm a second vote for women wearing ANY darned swimsuit that strikes their fancy. The skimpier, the better.😇 And YOU are cute enough that you can get away with more -- or less, as you choose.
The rules of the flag say that the flag itself is not to be worn or made into a garment. Wearing any clothing that has the pattern or image of the american flag is totally acceptable and I applaud you for such respect. Thank you for being so appreciative. I pray your trip will be nothing less than awesome.
Hi Pea! Who ever told you it was disrespectful for you or anyone from another country to wear the Red, White, and Blue is a nut job. Most Americans want to see foreigners to assimilate here in the USA. This is the melting pot of the world, and it’s nice to see others showing pride in the colors of Ole Glory. Would have loved to been able to meet you while you were visiting Florida! You are a very smart , beautiful young lady and your content is always great! I can’t wait to get make to the Philippines to visit and eventually call home.
I imagine it wouldn't apply to someone from another country, but it could be seen as disrespectful if a foreigner was wearing a flag as clothing. It is if you're a citizen, I suspect it would apply towards everyone regardless. Most don't know/care about this though and will wear it without understanding its disrespectful.
@@robxsiq7744 most of the reason why Americans stoped giving a crap is because of Nam and that whole shindig. Wasn’t it the singer of a band the first to wear the flag as pants and caused a big stir and that is what kicked off people being defiant and loving their flag apparel.
I don't think anyone would give a damn if you were that swimsuit in the Midwest. I saw no problem with it. If an individual is making a big hoopla over it, do the American thing and tell them to bug off. Very American thing to do in the Midwest.
Pea: the swim suit was brilliant. One other bit you could have added to your adept observations is the fact that many Americans look for things to be offended by, I feel that is the case in this regard. Your appreciation for the USA was also well displayed. 😊
Definitely! I can think of at least 2 reasons someone gave a negative comment. Perhaps the person (woman) was envious of how you looked in the bikini. She can't complain directly, so complains indirectly. (Crab mentality, US version). Or perhaps someone is biased against Asians. Again, a way to complain indirectly.
Don't listen to the people who said you can't wear the red, white, and blue. Most of us are proud of our country and are honored to have you wear our colors. It's the idiots who think the US is a "horrible" place who chaff at anyone wearing the flag. They're brainwashed into thinking anyone who honors the flag is an idiot. They need to look in a mirror. Fly the flag high and proud, Pea!
Seeing her in a flag bikini almost gave me heart palpitations! I can’t think of a more desirable method of seeing my flag flying properly. You go Pea 🇺🇸
I don’t know where you heard the thing about the swimsuit. I would say wear it and enjoy. The only people who would hate it are the people who are critical of America.
I am a veteran, and I have no problem with people wearing flag shirts or bikini's. I looked at it as you were supporting America. I am from the South, and people wear red , white, and blue clothing especially during July during Independence Day. The problem I have when some liberal burns or disrespects the flag or tells me I can't show the flag on my property. Much love Jairus
I really doubt you are a veteran and saying wearing the flag as an article of clothing is cool, fine, etc. , when the flag code says its a no no. Guess you had no problem with that pos larry flynt wearing a US flag as a diaper........
Umm. Just to clarify, you mean "US Citizen who is a Conservative" right?. Because the Iranian Protesters? Conservatives. The Taliban? Conservatives. Rassemblement National in France? Conservatives. ALL of the ruling party in Iran? Conservatives. Nice company you keep.@@jairusmedley8246
Wearing a flag bikini is not a big deal, especially around July 4, Independence Day. BTW, you rocked it! I do surveys occasionally for an a non-profit I am involved in. I have to warn the directors not to take a single negative comment and make changes if the majority of comments are positive. The same applies to your choice of attire. Go Pea!
Nothing wrong with wearing an American flag .. thanks for showing your love for our country 🇺🇸❤️🇵🇭.. and you sure are right about not arguing about politics.. it can get real ugly real fast.
Hi, Pea! As many have stated, you got pretty much everything right in your video, and it was a good one. Here are my two thoughts on what you covered: 1. About cleaning your own table at a restaurant. This is actually really only true for fast food restaurants because they don't do table service. They do go around cleaning the actual table surface, but because they don't have servers or waiters, you are expected to remove your tray and trash and anything left over and throw it away or take it with you. If you go to a full sit down restaurant, you are not expected to clean your own table. They will do that for you, because they actually have waiters and servers who actually come to your table to take things away or bring things to you. (Oftentimes, in those restaurants, if they see you trying to clean your own table, they will try to stop you and politely tell you that they will take care of it) ✌️😁 2. About the swimsuit. I can't believe anybody would even tell you that it was disrespectful to wear that. I'm guessing that there are people who are overly obsessed with how our flag or national colors should be displayed, and are going overboard with their opinion, but most people in America would find it very complimentary for you to actually wear it because you like our country. Whenever I see anyone who is a tourist wearing the American flag or the American colors on their clothes, I find it very kind and complimentary, because it shows they like our country, and how could you possibly not like that? You were just fine, so please don't worry!
@@RemyRemy987 Thank you! I don't know why I missed that one. I wanted to clarify the difference between the two style restaurants, but Pea seems to already be aware of this. 😁
Add that if you go to a restaurant with servers, please tip the server 10-15% for decent to great service, but don't be afraid to plunk down something to make their day. If you're staying and will return, they'll remember you. Good customers receive even better service. I know lots of other countries don't practice tipping and that can lead to misunderstanding.
I am an American expat in the Philippines. We were traveling back from my wife's family's place in Calauag to our home in Cavite province recently, and I saw a sign (in Laguna, I think) for which I wish I had my camera on the ready. It said, "Please obey all traffic rules and regulations." As someone who grew up in the U.S., I thought, "Of course - what a silly sign!" But in the Philippines, I guess people have to be reminded.
You nailed it Pea. As a southerner, everything you said was spot on. Your videos are always intelligent and insightful. We love having you in this country!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry about the bathing suit. While it's true a large percentage of us take respecting the flag seriously and you shouldn't take an actual flag and wear it around your waist for example, there's a long history of using flag elements like white stars on a blue background and red & white stripes in clothing, table cloths, bunting, etc. It's true you'll occasionally get someone who complains, you can ask them if Uncle Sam is being disrespectful with his outfit? Welcome to Georgia! I hope you enjoy our beautiful state!
yea locally there was an old church being used as a museum. huge concrete steps . some one painted a flag on the risers of those steps very nice stars and stripes. then came the comments you are walking on the flag. i thought not really as the tread of the steps were not flag painted only the riser was a flag symbol . but those steps were repainted.
1. You did not offend most of us in America with your swimsuit. In America there will always someone complaining. 2. You were very correct on all the other things you listed.
The flag outfit is not disrespectful and not a problem at all. Whomever said that should be promptly ignored. Thank you for your visit and kind nature.
Welcome to America. As a black, female American subscriber I'm glad you get a chance to see different parts of our country. I have enjoyed multiple trips to the Philippines and have encouraged friends and family to see other states and the Philippines. Hopefully, you are staying the full 6 months here. I get that you have to do filming for the channel, but if you get free time to look on your own. Please, check out New England in the fall and then head towards the west coast at the tail end of your trip. Each state has different terrain and wonderful, friendly people living in them.
Wow. Imagine a Black female subscriber to your number one Competition, Sweet Pea of the Philippines 🇵🇭. Passport Brothers escaping the Bargain With American HELL, which hasn't ended well, as Master Ji Lion's song says.
Black women don't have competition (I mean that in a good way, and with a comedic smile, as I am Black myself). They are the mothers of the earth. I wish more would realize that and act like it. But I see your point. I've been a passport bruh for a year now. It feels great to retire at 36 after years in the military (Army). I've always traveled the world since I was a kid. But now I don't have to wait until military approved summer and winter leave, or do so via military orders.
Welcome to the United States and to my home state of Georgia. Very glad your here and hope you are treated well. You wear your red, white and blue flag covered swimsuit anytime you wish. You have nothing to apologize for and I can't imagine anyone being offended by you wearing it. I consider it a sign of respect and are actually honoring our country and you wear it so well. We would like for you to consider the United States your forever home. Have a great stay in Georgia, the deep south!
I was in the Marine Corps for 21 years. As some people take offense to a bathing suite like you were wearing. To the biggest part of us, we don't care as long as you're respectful. If you were at around Camp Pendleton they would salute you. Cut dry and end of story. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲😎 Semper Fi
As a veteran, it's nice to hear that you come to the states and want to pay your respects. It makes me proud that I served a country people from all over can come and enjoy, unfortunately we have people here that just don't know what to keep to themselves about these days. Come to Alabama and wear the stars and stripes all you want!

There are always a few “negative nellies” no matter where you go in America. Keep rocking your red, white and blue swimsuit. Patriotic Army veteran approves. Thanks for visiting our country and sharing your thoughts. 🥰
First of all, I want to thank you for all the great content you share with us. The response you received on your swimsuit is nothing more than that individuals option. This is the beauty of being an American. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Or could be they where a little jealous. In any case, you are in the land of the free to do as you please, and we are proud to have you ❤️
I've lived all over the USA and there has never been any reason for anyone to get upset about someone wearing red, white, and blue clothes that look like our flag. People wear them as shits, swimsuits, hats, pants, underwear, ect..... People where them at all times of the year. Sure you will see a lot more of it happening on the 4th of July, but I have never seen anyone have an issue with it at any other time of the year. One thing you have to remember about the USA is that there are a lot of people who WANT to find something to get angry about. Just walk away from them and ignore them if you are not breaking the law. And if they do something to you remember to uphold the law by calling the police and reporting them (as in they start threatening you or throwing things at you or hitting you.) Wearing clothing that looks like the flag is considered a patriotic thing to do. Those against it are normally hatters of the USA.
Pea, your line about "pom poms" was brilliant! Very funny. You are a very curious and keen observer of culture. As a doctor with cross-cultural interests, it's really cool to see how someone makes sense of a different culture. Having lived and traveled in Asia for many years, I've been in your shoes many times. I hope that you continue to have a great experience, and get to see a lot of this country. I'll be watching to see what you think. Good luck, and all the best.
As a Canadian (we’re like diet cola Americans 😂) it was really interesting to see your “advice” for travellers. We grow up much the same way so a lot of what you point out seems commonplace and we don’t even think about it. Especially being on time! I remember each of the handful of times I’ve been stood up. It’s a major source of friction to have your time wasted. Even overly detailed stories might elicit a “get to the point!”.
running a U Tube channel is lots of work.. to get views they have to put out good content Pea has the personallity for it but she also puts lots of time also. sp good for her
I’m learning how to cut costs now - I cook my own food (90% of the time), and I haven’t stayed at a single hotel yet 👍 (it’s the darned car rental that’s killing me, but I have no choice) 😳
@@TheFilipinaPeaPea, One thing to keep in mind is you can camp in a car or SUV free in most Walmart parking lots. A lot of retired people in the U.S. do this to save money travelling. You might consider that to save money on your next trip. Also there is an excellent chain of grocery stores called Aldi where food costs less than Walmart. Also+ you really need to see Texas. Texas is like a whole nuther country.
Texan here. I loved the American Flag bathing suit! It was in no way disrespectful. Those that didn't like it are the ones you mentioned that can't control their emotions if you don't agree with their politics. Tell them to stick it! We've got your back!
Wow, spot on! You were so accurate. The only thing I thought was incorrect was the American flag swim suit. I am from Chicago and no one up here would look at that as disrespectful. Great channel. If you need any help during your travels, don't hesitate to ask me. Enjoy your travels.
Same here in Texas, we dont see it as disrepectful either pea, im not sure who shared that Dont with you but I think if you asked around more you would find there are alot more who dont find it disrespectful than who do.
FYI. Wearing the American flag AS clothing is considered poor etiquette. You can research that. HOWEVER... wearing it's likeness as in color.. red white and blue.. GREAT! 🇺🇸
Yes, if she was a blonde haired white girl with a huge rack, she would’ve had no problem with that bathing suit in Florida! Or Georgia or anywhere else in the south for that matter!
Hi Pea! Happy to hear you enjoyed Florida! You were spot on with your advice for people dealing with Americans. Friendliness is what I hear from all foreigners...so awesome.
The don'ts you noticed there are the obstacles I found myself having to overcome when I moved here to the Philippines. At first my reaction to the dogs, roosters, Videoke, staring, leaving your mess on the table, bumping, and cutting in line, 4 people, a goat and three bags of cement on 1 scooter passing traffic on the sidewalk was...WTF! But after about a year here I learned to just shrug my shoulders and say "it is what it is". Lol ,... You are spot on Pea. You have discovered what motivates the pet peeves of Americans.
Hello Pea, I have been watching your broadcasts for a couple of years now. I have both enjoyed and learned a great many things from your travels, observations and personal experiences. You are clearly highly intelligent, articulate, humorous and approachable. I have just watched your, “Don’t do this in America” segment. This is perhaps one of your most accurate and detailed reports ever. I only wish more Americans understood these unspoken but firm rules of behavior here. I am so glad for your recent visit to our country. You are very welcome here and you add to our own experience. You set the ‘bar’ very high for femininity and womanhood. Please visit us anytime. Charlotte and North Carolina invited you as well.
The first thing I had to teach my Filipino husband when he came here is to only use the horn if it’s an emergency or if someone is going to run into you. Next thing we worked on was how to change lanes on multi-lane roads. He has done pretty well. Driving at higher speeds can be challenging for him at times, but practice makes perfect. You are very correct about traffic law enforcement here in the US. Enjoy your visit!!
😂😂😂Yup, she's gonna get a lotta "Sugar, Sweetie, Honey, Darlin', Baby, and IF she's confident enough to enter Atlanta...well, I hope she knows that the people called BLACK/AFRICAN AMERICAN are the true American Indians, so the English might be more challenging to comprehend because of the accents and our manner of speech. Yes, we can speak "white folks" English, but we are not Europeans & American English is made up of our Anglicized words. Not all the translations they made were accurate. They defined canoe as the watercraft, but it originally meant the actual water the craft is used in. Also the famous word "PowWow" was originally Powaw which is loosely translated as "meeting place by the [water] falls or fall line", hence my hometowns Powhatan, the city/meeting place at the falls/fall line.
This was extremely accurate Pea, great assessment. Hearing it from someone from a different culture makes me see how very different we are from most countries.... especially morally speaking.
What you say is very true. Back in the day when i was single. I had a date with a girl. She did not show up. So i left after 20 minutes. No phone call that she will be late nothing. The next day she called me saying what happened. I said you did not show after 20 minutes. She said I was running late. So I just hug up. ( I thought she got the hint) No point arguing. That is very rude and very disrespectful.she tried to call me several times I would not answer. She FINALLY got the message.
@@TheFilipinaPea the sad part she is an American I met at a church outing for singles. (Go figure). You should come up to ohio. We would love to show you a different culture called the Amish.very unique people group. They are in almost every state. The originated in Pennsylvania and Ohio. Loveland ohio I was told was their capital of their culture. Food for thought.
Wow! It's so strange to hear you bring to my attention the Do's and Don'ts in America from a Filipina's point of view. The reason is I am an American all my life and was looking to travel to the Philippines to learn the Do's and Don'ts there. You took my prospective view out and pointed it back at me. If I were a Filipino going to America for the first time, it would make me feel strange. Very good job Thank you Pea!
This was really spot on! One thing. New Jersey is now the only state in America where it's illegal for drivers to pump their own gas. Oh, and Oregon still has full-service gas attendants as well.
Another great video Pea. Don't even worry about the U S. Bikini. There is a small number of people on two extremes on that. Some who hate America and say the flag itself is offensive and those who take the other extreme and think the flag as a clothing item is disrespectful to the flag and country. But the vast, vast, vast, majority of Americans, don't have a problem with it at all and find it patriotic. Personally I think you rocked it very well. 😘
As one that frequents the Philippines and owns property there, you are spot on. Noise is an intrusion into personal space like bad smell. Loud music in the grocery store is a reason not to shop there. Philippine time is not an excuse. But when it is cold in the US in the winter, it is time to go to the Philippines land of friendly smiles.
Your enunciation and pronunciation are excellent. In the video you mentioned the political divides between Americans. That political divide accounts for the "it's rude to ask someone their ethnicity" element. For generations it has been polite to ask this question as a means to get to know more about people, show friendliness and interest, build relationships. Only recently has it become a touchy question usually among people who believe that everything is racist. Those tend to be the same people who object to wearing the American flag. You may have been taking to people your own age because older people tend not to mind being asked about where they come from, seeing someone wear the flag or even hearing a longer answer to how are you (but usually no more than a couple sentences. They will follow up if they want more details)
This video had me laughing! I had a friend recently visit from the Philippines for the first time and she noticed everything you pointed out. The nuances of our different cultures are so funny! Btw, cool shirt Pea! And that color looks good on you 😉
Happy Friday Pea from the Golden State! Spot on about the 50 states being like 50 different countries, since each state has their own local state governance. You've learned so much about American culture based on your deep observations, especially in such little time. As to the bathing suit paying homage to America? As a Californian, that was a priceless gesture! Thanks for that Pea, no offense taken. This is a great video, possibly your best yet! Be safe and enjoy your next state visit.. ..
I am an American living in Australia with my wife that was was born and raised in Hong Kong, and although we have been married for many years she has never been to the USA, in fact I have not been back since I was stuck there on 9-11. We may go for a visit and thanks for this video now I can show this to her to help her out. My sister lives in Brandon Florida so we are bound to visit there for a while.
One of your best guides to understanding Americans. All Filipinos should watch this one. You keyed on some of my biggest pet peaves in the Philippines. ❤
Pea, you are very astute. You are right on the mark with everything, even if sometimes slightly overemphasized in an honest way. Very good job. You could teach a class in American etiquette to a lot of Americans. Something you might add is that we are also expected to be polite and gracious, even to people who do violate our norms, as long as they don't go too far. Even then, if we confront somebody, we are still expected to be gracious end polite. And a polite person will give extra latitude to a foreigner, Because to someone with good manners, you are our guest.
You're pretty much spot on with everything you said here. I'm happy you're getting to experience our country. Honestly though, it's best to just stay away from the large cities unless there are things in particular you want to see.
No, there are orders of magnitude more serial killers living in the country then in the city. To be a successful serial killer, you need two things. Time and space. And having friends in high places helps too. I was born and raised in the country. My rose colored glasses broke a long time ago. @AmericanClassicChannel
I’ve been watching your channel for years. Welcome to the US. I hope you’re enjoying your visit from the sounds of it seems like you’ve been in larger cities for the most part I guess the best way to describe it is similar to your country. I prefer the provinces in the Philippines, in the same manner, I stay away from the large cities here in the US too, it’s fine to visit, but not someplace in my opinion that you want to live. I find it very odd that somebody had a problem with you wearing an American flag. The division in my country is definitely there unfortunately but you also have to be careful of the people that you are around the same way when you’re over in the Philippines, you know that after speaking to someone a few minutes, you prefer not to engage with them deeply just keep being you you will find receptive people. It is not necessary to speak with everyone that you cross paths with stay safe on your visit and I hope you enjoy it immensely.
The bit about people being very open and talking to you as a stranger - that is most definitely a Southern thing. If you go out of the South you will not experience that much unless you run into a Southerner there. In the West it's the direct opposite; they will look at you like you're crazy if you just start talking to them when you don't know them. I highly recommend visiting New Orleans to get one of the most unique Southern experiences!
The friendliness also floods over into small towns across this country. In Montana you can always tell who is an escapee from Seattle, Denver, Minneapolis, or most of California by their lack of friendliness. 😁
You are the best Pea. Considering that you are not an American, your insights are amazing. I've seen enough of your videos to know that you get it and understand more than most Americans. You can absolutely wear an American flag bathing suit and many Patriotic Americans do. Anyone complaining is most likely the opposite. I'm currently on my 3rd trip to the Philippines while you are in my part of the U.S. 😐 Hope you make it to North Carolina
Hi Pea, You definitly hit all of the right points about the US. Don't listen to the folks that say you can't wear red, white and blue. Freedom is what America is about. Some folks want to take that freedom away . Enjoy the Southern Hospitality amd have fun in Georgia. Keep on posting these great videos!
Right; its one thing to take a flag and cut it up and make clothing out of it, and something entirely different to wear clothing that happens to be red, white, and blue. Too many busybody Karens trying to be gatekeepers what what we can and can't do, ignore them... :=8/
You are highly observent of our cultural norms, Pea. Great vid once again! By the way, if you get a chance, i'd recommend visiting one or two of our national parks like Yellowstone, Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, etc..
Hello Pea from Missouri (originally from Indiana). Cultures and speech in each state use to be more different from each other in the past than they are today. I think easy travel and the influence of radio, TV and the cinema (and most recently: the internet) have all greatly contributed to the blending of cultures here.
Pea... Please understand that there are some Americans that will get offended by EVERYTHING! You can't take every criticism you receive to heart. Because some criticism is absolutely bunk! There are tons of people all across the United States that wear American colors on their clothes, swim suites, and whatever else. You did absolutely NOTHING wrong. And I'm saying that as a US veteran who proudly served my country. I loved your video, and you looked great in your US colors swimsuit. Thanks for sharing our pride with us! Also... for all the people that lack reading comprehension. The US flag code states "The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery". Key words... "THE FLAG". Pea didn't take the US flag and cut it up to make her swimsuit. She bought a swimsuit with US Flag design and colors printed on it. Huge difference!
You are right about regional differences. If you did interviews at Venice Beach in California it would be very different then Daytona Beach. In NYC the rules are different. The personal space doesn’t apply especially on public transit and on wasting someone’s else time multiply that by a million. New Yorkers are not noted for their patience and don’t even think about starting a conversation with the cashier.
Your advice is solid. When I went to China as a student people bumped into me on the street all the time and just kept going. Do that here and some people will want to knock you out. I’ve seen fights started here if you cut in line at a Walmart or anywhere else. Definitely try to check out small towns in Georgia as well as bigger cities. Savannah is an outstanding city to check out, lots and lots of history there.
Hello Miss P. One item I would suggest adding to your list is: Do not haggle. Almost all prices in retail stores are not negotiable. If you do not like the price in a given store, go to a different store.
Enjoy seeing the States through your eyes. The American flag seems to be the only thing holding America together these days and if nothing else seems to be working, our flag gives us hope and withstands the unsettling politics and chaos presented at this time. I am not an American by birth, but live and love this country. Our flag represents so much and touches the hearts and souls of all that live under it.
I have seen your videos about the Philippines and I took all your advice when I went there... you were spot on about everything... I was glad you made this one so we can see ourselves in your eyes... and your right! I wish I had shared my experience in the Philippines and the thousands thoughts I had about how the Philippines and the people. changed me to the core... I have nothing but respect for the Philippines and there way of life... good people
Honestly I am shocked that anyone would say anything to you about the swimsuit. I honestly thought it was cute but figured it was respectful of you to wear it. I hope the rest of your stay is amazing. Sending much love from Ohio. Have fun.
Dear Pea, Love yr channel. During your list of “don’ts,” u say how strangers will really open up to you.. Part of that, I am now suggesting, is due to YOU and your sparklingly sweet and considerate style of communicating. And your high IQ. It is a joy watching you. -Michigan Mike
Hi Capt. Pea. Thank you for sharing your firsthand travel experiences in areas you visited in the U.S. It’s a diverse country that you can’t please everyone regardless of your good intentions or in actions. However, visiting an other country can be an added adventure and academic plus for self realization and to share. Great contents. Enjoy and be safe.
Excellent list Pea. I have lived in Leyte for 13 years now and it has taken about that long for me to ease my temper about some of the things about the Philippines that are different from the US. Driving in the Philippines is insane compared to the US. Personal space was a big one too. I have come to love the Philippines even with the challenges I have had to overcome.
You totally nailed these items on this list. Great job. Don’t sweat the flag thing, your gesture was great and I understood when I saw it. Americans wear lots of flag themed clothing, even bathing suits but generally reserve it only for the 4th of July holiday period. Videos are great and I’d be super curious when you get to Georgia what you think of peaches, pecans, and boiled peanuts.
Loved this video. I’m from the state of North Carolina and have visited several countries and I love learning about different cultures. The US can be a culture shock. Hope you have a wonderful stay ❤️
This video is a lot of fun! All the points you cover is what makes travel so fascinating - each culture with their own unique blend of acceptable behaviours and quirks :)
Hello Pea, I love the videos. You’re always so nice and respectful. And the content is really engaging. So about the American flag baiting suit, it was perfect! You’re living in America, that’s the beauty of it all. If they were somehow offended then that’s on them. You aren’t in charge of their happiness. I have a huge collection of American flag clothing. No one ever says anything to me about it, now I am 6’2 and 240lbs. So that might have something to do with it lol. Anyway keep up the good work, stop by Alabama if you get some time. We are the heart of Dixie.
Great observations Pea and 100% correct accurate. The south is the most friendliest part of the US along with most rural areas of the entire US. Wear you flag bikini and be proud. Some ignorant people do not know the difference between clothes that look like a US flag and clothes that are made from a US flag. Even though there is no law against making clothes from the flag but it is deemed very disrespectful.
It's interesting to see your reflections on the USA. As a Canadian, half of this stuff applies to my country, the other half boggles our minds too. I don't know what your travel plans are, but I went to Las Vegas last year and had the time of my life. If you can, you should visit Vegas. It's unbelievable!
You brought a smile to my face when you said don't be loud, Americans like thier quiet. The number one complaint of Americans in Europe is that we're actually to loud! (I should also admit that you made me smile all through this.. it's just that this one really hit hone) enjoy the rest of your trip and safe travels.
😎👍🇺🇲 Your list was pretty much spot on. I don't think I could add or correct anything you've observed. There's many more "don'ts" in the US but we're pretty tolerant for tourists (except the driving). I had to study the habits in the Philippines and most of the Asian countries to understand their strange driving techniques. Most people here don't understand. As far as the Flag wear. Most people don't have an issue. Although you will find people that have an issue with everything. They're also more than happy to tell you about it too. That's when personal space comes into play. Just back away slowly and keep going until they're too far away to hear. Yes the political seen is horrible right now. Fingers crossed it improves and we can all just try to get along. Unless you live within walking distance of work and the enmities. A vehicle is a must. Or several vehicles depending on the mood or weather. Car rental and taxis are usually out of the budget for most people outside of the inner cities. Or in the cities where taxis are really common. In the PNW, they're not so common. I've personally never ridden in one here in the US. Cheers from your friend, Fluffy. If you make it up this way. You can have a go at your choice of vehicles. Motorcycles, 4X4 Ram or a 1971 right hand drive British Mini Cooper.😂 Best wishes my friend.✌️🤗
You are so right on the cutting in line thing. I'm from the US and my company sent me to work in India for awhile. I could not get over how everyone cut the line in the airports there. In the US we actually ask people if they are in line. :)
Pea, you GET it. We Americans do things very differently. You on point. As my family are from Africa and China, I'm a full blown American, it's kinda cool but we have our ups and downs. Stay safe here and keep doing the best you can🙏♥️🇵🇭
Hi Pea! I am glad you are enjoying your trip. I was concerned that your points may be off, but they were all spot on and since part of our culture, I hadn't thought about them. I hope you continue beyond Florida and Georgia as there are many other great places/states and will be very different. Don't skip National Parks if you get a chance. Hope to see you locally and also visit the Philippines one day.👋
Hey, your pom pom's are perfect, also don't worry about the bathing suit. Whoever complained had no way of knowing that your intentions were good, and you gave a good, sincere explanation in the video, thank you very much ! The theme of this video reminded me so much of my duty at Clark, we were given A LOT of cultural awareness briefings during in processing to the base, and it was very valuable information. We were given a challenge to be "American Ambassadors in Blue" ( the color of the Air Force uniform). We were told things about the PI that were very similar to your subject matter here, and I know for a fact that the NEVER DO segments probably saved my ass several times ! They also told us single guys that we would almost certainly be getting married soon. We laughed and laughed, and . . . found ourselves looking for the Barong Tagalog within a few months ! GOOD JOB, Thanks
On the subject of being on time to things, there's another saying that "if you're on time, you're late. If you're early, you're on time, if you're late, you'll be left behind"
So glad to hear that you are having a good time. Your Insights are generally spot on. I hope you enjoy Georgia and I also hope you visit Texas....it will be interesting to see and hear your reactions. ....oh and don't be concerned when you see many of us openly wearing Pistols..😊 it is Texas afterall😊.
Anyone that was offended by you wearing a patriotic swimsuit is totally mistaken. I’m using is quite the honor for another nationality, taking pride in our country and supporting it with such a gesture. Keep up the good work P.
Another fantastic program, Pea. This video should be "required viewing" for everyone coming to the States as a tourist. I'd like to see a similar video about what foreigners visiting the Phillipines shouldn't do that would be offensive to Filipinos.
@TheFilipinaPea As Americans, we often take for granted the freedoms and opportunities we have here. Many Americans are definitely not appreciative... that's a fact.
Hello Miss Filipina Pea I enjoy your program and various topics. I'm living in Texas and have visited the Philippines over 2 years ago. Boy! things have really changed there. Before 2022 I visited the Philippines in 1970's 1980's and 1990's I'm married to my Filipina and very happy with her. ❤
Pea anyone complaining about you in a red, white and blue bikini is a fool. If you had cut up an actual flag to make it would be another story but I thought the Pea in Stars and Stripes was great and I would gladly salute you. (Being a veteran I felt proud that you wore it). You approach everything with an honest curiosity that I love to see and wish you could spend a year exploring this country. I am sure you are missing your home, family and cats by now though. Take care and keep showing us our country.
Don't worry about the flag swimsuit Pea. It's like this, what offends some doesn't offend others. The reason they were probably offended is because you should never let the flag touch the ground. But that's us hard core Americans and military Vets. As far as you paying homage is totally fine and thank you for your respect and concern...
I saw the swimsuit in your thumbnail a few days ago, and I did not think it was disrespectful at all. I'm not sure who is thinking about stuff like that. I hope you had a great time at the beach.
Loved the commentary on friendliness. I would say this is definitely true about people from small towns throughout the US and not just the South. The people that I served in the Navy with who were from big cities were generally rude and when they were confronted with the friendliness of people in Washington state (excluding Seattle) they were shocked. Made me chuckle at times 🙂

Thirty inches is the correct space to leave. Anything closer implies sexual interest.
Enterprise rents cars for $100.00 a week with unrestricted miles. I haven't rented one in 3 years but they are the best. Never rent a car close to an airport. All Car Rentals are WAY more expensive when they are close to the airports to get the out-of-towners. (common knowledge).
Staring? Yes, by lots of immigrants. Even if you state right back at them to get them to stop, they don't.
Don't swim in the lakes. Flesh eating bacteria is spreading.
And of course, you are always easy on the eyes!☺️❤ Thank you for sharing your wisdom and unique way of bringing people together!❤❤ Try Oregon and the west coast next time!😉😉
Agreed, as long as it’s respected.
My favorite baseball cap was from philadelphia..but I lost it. It was old but I love that thing (I’m not American)
@@willvr4tell me you're liberal without telling me you're liberal.
I think the only ones offended would be those that would require two full sized flags for enough material😂
Must be a liberal or leftist.
@@dagamingnexus I'm offended that they were offended! :-P
This! Never have heard of an issue with a flag-themed bathing suit!
Dude get out of here with that BS. You are part of the problem. @@xm47ecr36

Well, its NOT a flag....its swimwear
@@gbonkers666 no shit, hence the word bathing suit in the comment you idiot. If you want to be technical than at least spell "it's" correctly
Most don't know/care about this though and will wear it without understanding its disrespectful.
it was probably some america hating wokie offended by even the sight of the flag.
Exactly, those are haters, but on the forth of July, they go to Walmart and buy the same bikini, made in China.🤔
Younger Americans are more easily offended. "Triggered"
The people that hate the flag...Hate the idea of your freedom.
Seeing her in a flag bikini almost gave me heart palpitations! I can’t think of a more desirable method of seeing my flag flying properly. You go Pea 🇺🇸
Not sure why people would hate on the flag swim suit - born and raise in California - flag swim suit is 100% ok with me
Nope not hating my country, but I imagine most were try to stand up for the US Flag Code.
I don’t know where you heard the thing about the swimsuit. I would say wear it and enjoy. The only people who would hate it are the people who are critical of America.
14:24 As an American I found the swimsuit very respectful. Thank you for your respect toward our flag and country.
No "Liberal" would EVER tell you you can't fly the flag on your own property. And you know it.
I really doubt you are a veteran and saying wearing the flag as an article of clothing is cool, fine, etc. , when the flag code says its a no no. Guess you had no problem with that pos larry flynt wearing a US flag as a diaper........

Hi, Pea! As many have stated, you got pretty much everything right in your video, and it was a good one.
Here are my two thoughts on what you covered:
(Oftentimes, in those restaurants, if they see you trying to clean your own table, they will try to stop you and politely tell you that they will take care of it) ✌️😁
👍👍👍 Thanks!!
Good response. And she did clarify it was only fast food for clearing trash 🙂
@@RemyRemy987 Thank you! I don't know why I missed that one. I wanted to clarify the difference between the two style restaurants, but Pea seems to already be aware of this. 😁
also i would like to add that tipping although not mandatory your waiter/delivery driver live off tips in most cases
- a darn good point👍🇺🇸
yea locally there was an old church being used as a museum. huge concrete steps . some one painted a flag on the risers of those steps very nice stars and stripes. then came the comments you are walking on the flag. i thought not really as the tread of the steps were not flag painted only the riser was a flag symbol . but those steps were repainted.
Hey, that’s right - Uncle Sam wears it too!

But I see your point. I've been a passport bruh for a year now. It feels great to retire at 36 after years in the military (Army). I've always traveled the world since I was a kid. But now I don't have to wait until military approved summer and winter leave, or do so via military orders.
Being a New Englander, I whole-heartedly agree.

Lots of people are enjoying the U.S. especially the neighbors in Japan overseas--the ones staring down Continental China as they try to aggressively wage decades-long nonlinear information warfare on them over who owns what part of the ocean and the islands therein between them. The organizations who monitor and keep track of Human Rights Violations wouldn't have been as prevalent today as they would have otherwise been if not for American support.
Bullet-list:
--How China handled the C00f-19 crisis in their borders
--North Korean Human Rights Violations (i believe nobody's found them all yet)
--Remember that one time Putin rained fleschettes down on a town in Ukraine? Not a war-crime per se, but in bird language it was a Dick move....
Yeah---even in the South anyone under 50, don't like long stories---and we older Southerners love long stories 🙂
We Americans love and respect our Canadian brothers to the north. Nothing wrong with being a diet coke either. Actually better for you.
To her credit, Pea is doing very well on YT. I mean can you imagine what this trip to America must be costing her?
running a U Tube channel is lots of work.. to get views they have to put out good content Pea has the personallity for it but she also puts lots of time also. sp good for her
She deserves it!

I’m learning how to cut costs now - I cook my own food (90% of the time), and I haven’t stayed at a single hotel yet 👍
(it’s the darned car rental that’s killing me, but I have no choice) 😳
GREAT! 🇺🇸
@fljetgator1833 It used to be so, until about 30 years ago
Trumpster diver’s may not like it
Yes, if she was a blonde haired white girl with a huge rack, she would’ve had no problem with that bathing suit in Florida! Or Georgia or anywhere else in the south for that matter!
Hi Pea! Happy to hear you enjoyed Florida! You were spot on with your advice for people dealing with Americans. Friendliness is what I hear from all foreigners...so awesome.
I wasn’t prepared for the level of kindness I’ve experienced here - and I already knew you were friendly! 😳👍❤️❤️🇺🇸
@TheFilipinaPea Thanks Pea!
As an American I can say this is correct.
Noise and Space.
These are the big differences. You nailed it again Pea! Say hello when in Ilocos Sur!
Be ready in the South for people to call you darling, sweetheart, dear etc. It's not flirting it's polite

I consider it rude and low-class and I was born and raised in the South. We also used Mr., Mrs., Ms. and last name not this first name.
Wow,pea, its like youve lived in the states for years,i saw you in Duma during an interview, you are truly a philippina gem!!!
Well if I date an American, I’ll be sure to never be late 🤣👍👍
Asians are a rude and disrespectful culture to us.
This was really spot on! One thing. New Jersey is now the only state in America where it's illegal for drivers to pump their own gas. Oh, and Oregon still has full-service gas attendants as well.
has Oregon changed their laws. Once I was there and they told me it was illegal to pump my own gas.
@@johnmcdaniels1118 Nope oregon is still full service... not allowed to pump your own gas.
I truly hope as an American that everybody you meet is showing you hospitality and love like those from the Philippines did for me on my trip.
I couldn't agree more,.... I avoid them like a plague !
Hope you make it to North Carolina
Hi Pea, You definitly hit all of the right points about the US. Don't listen to the folks that say you can't wear red, white and blue. Freedom is what America is about. Some folks want to take that freedom away . Enjoy the Southern Hospitality amd have fun in Georgia. Keep on posting these great videos!
Right; its one thing to take a flag and cut it up and make clothing out of it, and something entirely different to wear clothing that happens to be red, white, and blue. Too many busybody Karens trying to be gatekeepers what what we can and can't do, ignore them...
:=8/
I am happy to see you enjoyed America & your stay was pleasurable for you Pea
Yup! Some ppl can only get attention, by being obnoxious.
Me & my Philippina wife Glenn LOVE you so much ~ we watch you all the time! We live in Long Island, NY.
Then I think maybe I’ll prefer the south 🤣👍
Your advice is solid. When I went to China as a student people bumped into me on the street all the time and just kept going. Do that here and some people will want to knock you out. I’ve seen fights started here if you cut in line at a Walmart or anywhere else.
Definitely try to check out small towns in Georgia as well as bigger cities. Savannah is an outstanding city to check out, lots and lots of history there.
Savannah’s on my list! I have no idea what I’ll find there … 😊👍

The nation will heal. It has been through worse (perhaps worse is yet to come) -- each time it recovers, it becomes stronger.

Dunno - I see it everywhere. I think it might be local culture in your area to reserve it for the 4th of July.
Hello Pea,
I love the videos.
Funny thing about noise. I really like my neighbors taste in music and he plays it outside in the summer. I leave my back door open so I can hear it
It's interesting to see your reflections on the USA. As a Canadian, half of this stuff applies to my country, the other half boggles our minds too.
I don't know what your travel plans are, but I went to Las Vegas last year and had the time of my life. If you can, you should visit Vegas. It's unbelievable!
I agree with the Vegas thing but you’ll probably need to do a whole series on it. There is so much to do and see.
You brought a smile to my face when you said don't be loud, Americans like thier quiet. The number one complaint of Americans in Europe is that we're actually to loud! (I should also admit that you made me smile all through this.. it's just that this one really hit hone) enjoy the rest of your trip and safe travels.
Europeans are upset because a Camaro beat a porsche around Nurburgring😂
The quiet for Americans is in living areas like your home. In public it's a free for all.
😎👍🇺🇲
Your list was pretty much spot on.
Motorcycles, 4X4 Ram or a 1971 right hand drive British Mini Cooper.😂

Pea anyone complaining about you in a red, white and blue bikini is a fool. If you had cut up an actual flag to make it would be another story but I thought the Pea in Stars and Stripes was great and I would gladly salute you. (Being a veteran I felt proud that you wore it).
If you read the comments, there are still several people who claim it’s a no-no, but most agree with you 👍😊
Loved the commentary on friendliness. I would say this is definitely true about people from small towns throughout the US and not just the South. The people that I served in the Navy with who were from big cities were generally rude and when they were confronted with the friendliness of people in Washington state (excluding Seattle) they were shocked. Made me chuckle at times 🙂
