When I was a kid and saw this, the final scene where he’s essentially dying was REALLY fucked up.
If it wasn’t for that scene I probably would have completely forgot about this movie.
I think it was so fucked up for me as a kid that my brain repressed it

Click is a movie that would have been 10/10 film if not for the questionable comedy, and if a couple bits of internal logic had been thought through just a little more. but as it is, using a dumb gimmick to actually SHOW what being on autopilot will do to your life by the time it's over is worlds better than a lot of "live in the moment, focus on family" messages that feel good movies try to convey.
I'd say it is the best Adam Sandler movie in terms of pure message, but not in terms of comedy.

Second half: an extremely stressful and hard-hitting cautionary tale that entirely shifts the tone of the movie. May cause existential dread
Overall: kinda like grownups meets requiem for a dream

yep the ending is insane.
It's wierd how this simple movie affected me as a kid. It thought me to appreciate even the times I didn't like, becouse even unpleasant actvities like brushing teeths or cycling to school will be once done for the last time, so that's make you appreciate almost whatever you are doing.

But you're right. It's so easy to take certain activities for granted only to find out you miss them when they're gone. Riding to/from school is a great example. My friends and I all used to race each other and the laughs we had are almost never found today. A throwback to a better era, then again anything in the 80's was pretty epic!
Teeth brushing is a bad example of something that would be done for the last time. It is like saying even eating will once be done for the last time.

From a philosophical logic point of view, my biggest reason for giving this movie a down vote was you should fucking hit pause, do the job, then bada-bango you're a damn superhero in any field. Not just for work related shit, for everything.

Why the script writer decided for "skip the fight" frankly made the movie harder for them to write. It would have been so easy, with the same premise of a "smart remote", to have the dude stuck in permanent non-motion so that his angst came from everybody being frozen in time while he takes care of business.

if we look aside the dumb comedy bits and some non logical bits in it, the message is clear and really touching, i always look at adam sandler as a dumb goofy movie guy in which he also portrait in this movie, but the moment he ran out of the hospital and giving everything he could so make sure his family get the message and see his feelings i couldnt help but to burst out crying like a baby... almost 20 years later and i still think this is peak cinema and one of the best scene ive ever seen in my life.
It is one of the most heartbreaking scene I've seen in my life. There are only a few movies that makes this emotional whilst watching, but Click never fails to make me cry.
I cannot believe it took him this long to do an Adam Sandler movie.

I know he got tilted by the remote and thus threw it into the bin. But beside skipping time, the other abilities like muting and translating languages would have been harmless and very beneficial, so... why not keep it.
Cause the thing already got close to completely and totally out of his control the first time and all it would take is just a small amount of misjudged uses over the course of his entire life to ruin things again. Imagine he gets frustrated a couple times over the course of like three years and mutes his children, then the remote decides he doesn't like to hear his kids and leaves them muted for the rest of his life.
Things too much of a temptation and a hazard, it's better off gone.

The problem with the skip was that he couldn't rewind back but he can mute/unmute and change languages back any time even if the device saves that. Also he shouldn't use it all the time. But it is a good "joker" if you are in danger.
But Yeah he just had enough. It's respectable but not my choice.
The remote is not very good since it was written by a moron. Skip one argument and it decides that it should just skip all arguments.

I personally enjoyed Click. It was a different pace and style from traditional Sandler movies and although dark, it absolutely had its moments. The overall message was good and the cast was great. I can get passed the continuity errors. It was a different take on comedy and I can appreciate it.

I remember watching this movie either on a tape or disk and it was corrupted and the movie stopped playing after the moment he died on a sidewalk. I always thought it's was the real ending

There's a secret movie in Click if you think about it from the wife's perspective. She doesn't know anything about the remote so, to her, it's about her husband suffering from early onset dementia and dog horniness.
The mistakes he makes with the remote completely mirrors the mistakes he made in his life. Always missing the bigger picture wanted the things he dislikes to be over and done with as soon as possible and in the process his relationship with his family paid the price. He really loves his wife & kids but he treated his job as a bigger priority and his decisions with the remote perfectly encapsulated that.
Overall this was a great movie with a great message for all workaholics out there choosing work over family & there’s a message for everyone else too. Life is short so don’t wish it away

I like that movie. It's definitely the best he has ever made. The older I get the more I appreciate it's message and yeah the remotes autopilot function is weird and kinda inconsistent but that's not the point. The point is that we all can get in a loop of just wanting to skip to the next goal and forget to live in the middle of it. Been there probably might get there again and it's movies like that that remind you all that shit is meaningless without the stuff in the middle of it...

yknow if the pause function doesn't age you or do some bullshit like "Oh we saw you usually pause until this work gets done so we're going to let you pause until you finish this impossible task that you will literally never complete." , I'd probably just use that to get infinite amounts of work done and have all the time I need for my family, while going back in time whenever I want to mimic perfect memory or revisit good old times of the past.
But then there wouldn't be a "lesson to learn" so I probably wouldn't have even gotten the remote from Monkey Paws R Us in the first place.
I wonder, if you used the remote to skip ahead in time until you finished pushing a mountain or something like that, would you be stuck there until you die?

The movie kinda hits hard as an adult. He made it after his actual father passed away, and being overseas in the military, followed by a remote base for 10 years really made the time fly in a bad way.
Dude, no joke, that final scene where he is like dying in front of the hospital in the rain?, That made me cry man, that was so damn emotional, they did Ace that part so good.

Based on the time skips in this movie and when it came out, this movie would take place in around 2023 by the end. Which is totally crazy. But also, its crazy how long its been since this came out and what has actually happend since then.

Click had a fantastic premise and a really great emotional payoff. Now I love older Adam Sandler movies, they're just a shit ton of dumb fun. But I don't think this movie was best placed in his hands. Someone could have done it better, but I still appreciate it as the movie that first got me thinking about how I really want to spend my time on this earth, so I'll never forget that.
I think this movie get a bit much ’hate’, yea it could be better but I’m almost glad they made it like this bc it COULD be worse and this was a movie I rly don’t regret watching. It has a great message with great casting.
