How do you afford to travel? - I now earn a full time living through creating these RUclips videos, affiliate links, selling digital products and my clothing line. I used to simply just work any temporary job I could find to save up to travel! I budget the money I earn meticulously to reach my savings goals using www.backpackin...
Is travelling solo safe? - I would argue the answer is almost always yes! As long as you use your common sense and you follow your own government's guidelines about travelling in that country. I have made several videos on backpacking safety on my channel.
Do you have plans to settle down? Yes, I'm currently saving to purchase my first property in the UK and I'd love to have children one day. I doubt I'll ever live a completely 'conventional' lifestyle by society's standards though, as I often have my own preferred way of doing things.

It really showed that once you travelled solo, you were so much more free and happier. Seemed like you had the best time, meeting people and experiencing everything at your own pace. Very powerful that you didn’t just give up and end the trip but continued to live your life!

I’ve lived and worked in Bangkok for over 30 years, too old for backpacking nowadays but enjoyed your video adventures in this beautiful country. You are a natural presenter, so enthusiastic, it reminded me how lucky I am to live here. Agree with you that it’s very safe here applying a bit of common sense, certainly safer than my home town in the UK. Good luck with your channel.

I moved to Thailand in January to teach and love it so much I extended my contract through July 2023. Although my adventures are much more spread out because of work I’ve loved watching your videos and inspiring my next holiday. Would possibly be interested in a dive retreat!! Will keep watching for updates but hopefully it ends up being during one of my breaks 😆
did you have to become fluent in thai before going to thailand to teach?

@@juliaortiz6483 nope! I teach at an international school so everyone speaks English but there are plenty of English teaching jobs in thai schools as well

Do you need a QTS or just a degree?
For years I maintained that I would never scuba dive because I was too scared. After learning to surf at 50, I think I'm ready to take on more! Definitely considering learning to dive in Koh Tao!
Thank you so much for taking us along on your backpacking adventures, Christianne. After watching each of your series, I always truly feel like I just finished a trip myself! Your love of backpacking over other kinds of travel is so evident in the joy of your videos, and as someone who has the same preference, it makes them so engrossing. I think it's especially important for people to see a woman traveling this way because there is enough media out there scaring women to travel at all. I love the travel youtube world but there are both so few people who stick with backpacking after they find "success" and also so few women who are making solo traveling videos (and the number of women in travel youtube couples who have expressed the belief that they couldn't do it alone is so disheartening!). You do it all, and you take us with you, and you seriously give me so much joy with every video. Thanks for fueling the wanderlust and representing the best side of travel a woman could experience!

I’m planning a few months backpacking through thailand and Philippines next year. I’m curious if you took any anti malarials while you were there? Also, how did you manage to stay for so long? Did you leave the country and return?
At the time, we could easily extend our visas month by month because of the covid policies.

When you backpack solo and go for a swim, what do you do with leaving your stuff on the beach? X
It is funny because I always thought I wanted to travel with somebody and now hearing that people can also break up during those traveling periods gives me new perspective 😂

Hahah I got chased/followed for about half a mile by a "really friendly" thai girl on a motorbike while I was in chaing mai. Two Australian girls saved me in the end by pretending to be friends with me 😁😂
Wow, loved following this series! Watching it really made me want to travel to Thailand! So my boyfriend and I rebooked our Italy trip and and going to Thailand in two weeks!!!! I’m so excited :) I think our trip will be pretty similar to yours, just shorter, unfortunately, but we are planning according to your recommendations (hope to do the same snorkeling tour from Koh Phangan, scuba diving in Koh Tao etc). I needed proof of onward travel when checking in at the airport to fly to Thailand! But I didn’t need that for the Thai Pass itself. I booked a flight to Cambodia to show as proof but then cancelled it once I arrived in the country 😊

You are really amazing!! It would be a dream to join a Thai dive retreat with you. If you are planning a future dive in Thailand, please consider doing a 4-7 days dive trip from Similan Island & Koh Tachai. They are one of the best diving spots in Thailand. If you would love to swim alongside a whale shark, the best period to encounter them is at the beginning of December or the end of March.

Couldn't agree more with what you said about the positive side of breaking up abroad! The same happened to me, my bf of nearly 6 years broke up with me 2 months into our world travel that we had planned and saved for years. I was very upset for a while but to be honest it couldn't of happened at a better time where I was able to meet so many amazing like minded people and see and experience beautiful things outside of my home country. We only travelled together for 2 months out of the 2 years I was abroad and I'm really proud of myself for going solo. Your videos really inspire me and I hope we get to meet one day!

Loved watching your Thailand series Christianne! I've been to Thailand once in 2016-17 and fell in love with the country. I did a little diving while there (I'm advanced open water PADI certified), mostly in and around Krabi, but would absolutely be interested in a dive trip back to Thailand, if that ever materializes. Can't wait to watch your next series!

Another great video and what an ambassador for Tourism Thailand 👍 you definitely show all the best bits and give some great advise. I thought you were going direct to Australia ? A dive retreat sounds great, I stayed at one for a week in Oman and the diving was amazing - better than the Maldives, don’t now why but the fish just seemed larger and the variety was unbelievable. The resort was great and with all dives included was such good value 👍 but very very Hot 🥵

If we were interested in a diving retreat, but we never dived before, would this still be doable or do we need to get special certification for some of the dives we go on (night dives, deep dives, etc.)? Scuba diving has been on my bucket list for years, and this would be an amazing opportunity to fulfill that dream, but I wouldn't want to dampen people's good time if dives weren't planned because of inexperienced divers.

Really enjoyed watching your roundup of Thailand. I too went in March and travelled solo . Agree with a lot of your views of the experience you had . Was really nice to see again some of the places I visited. During my 2 week trip I visited Phuket , Phang Nga national park , Similan Islands , Chiang Mai , Chiang Rai and Bangkok . I too was surprised by how much it rained during my stay , some spectacular thunderstorms considering it was supposed to be the dry season . Was an amazing experience , made so many memories which I'll treasure for many years to come ❤️
