Ice King's Tapes If They Were Analog Horror [Adventure Time]

- I was inspired by the MLP infection AUs online and saw a few people reaching into other cartoons. I think this started as a joke but I don't know what this is now. I'm still working on Motley's Mathhouse though incredibly slowly since school is overwhelming me.
Opening clip and voices were taken from Adventure Time
Audio was taken from RUclips or recorded from my phone

"Leaving it on its current host is the best course of action." Nah bro that just gave me the chills, because you're basically left only knowing that this husk was once a brilliant man with a life just like yours, and you're supposed to "leave him be"
Cause as you can see Simon is somewhat dead already only thing left is probably his soul will, any disturbing to the crown will let to unknown possibility like in the episode where we got to see a work without magic and Simon sacrifice himself to prevent the nuke going off
The description of turning in to "A frozen corpse" held together by magic is frightening but so cool
The way this is written/ presented reminds me a lot of “The Fly” it’s so cool. The idea of a self imposed madness transforming a scientist into a creature of horror, and even though they’re barely holding on they still document their findings on themselves.
“Brundlefly”
Man, that episode was a real gut punch.
Tom Kenny's performance really sold it for me.
Honestly a lot of stuff from the mushroom war has a lot of potential to be made into analogue horror. Imagine a small webseries about the last remnants of human society trying to doccument the goo monsters and other abominations that were unleashed when magic was reintroduced into Ooo.
Amazing video man, you did a great job. Looking foward to more.
I video about the Lich would be very cool
@@unosocongorra5779 I think someone made something like that for the lich I can’t remember what it was though
you're god damn right, the mother gum, raincorns, vampires, demons, the virus that almost decimated the last human settlements, there's a lot
There's a Spanish audio series based on this topic. It's called "el diario de Jonathan"
@@ikeruxgamer9564 that one is more like a fanfic with some really weird stuff in it tho, at some point it even become a mash up of naruto with zombies, gore and nsfw stuff
I think this is the reality where the crown was just pure evil inside, not preserving its’ hosts. The crown in canon adventure time seemed to not like converting people into these maddened clowns of ice. It seemed to especially like Simon, as it is revealed to feel horrible in the episode where Ice King is put in jail to cure the Candy Kingdom of his icy beard flu, and in the Farmworld timeline, where Simon gives his life to stop the Mutagenic Bombs, the crown grieves and suffers, unleashing a spasm of magic that froze the Earth for 400 years. It’s sad, really, imagine being a crown that turns its hosts into demented frosty parodies, and you, the crown, don’t like doing that.
Rule number 3!
I can’t bring people back from the dead…it’s not a pretty picture. I don’t like doing it!
Man i was totally expecting the Crown to turn Simon into this feral husk of himself that only knows how to kill any invaders to his domain.
Indeed, while we see a husk, its not of a feral king, but a once intelligent man that finally succumbed to the ages of his curse....
Honestly with how the crown acted it was almost as if it was depriving him of his own sentience. While it resembles dementia and obvious behavioral alterations, with enough time the wearer becomes less and less sentient and eventually becomes a mad animal.
333rd thumb
@@SkepticSkeptoice king was wearing it for 1000 years and never got worse than what he is now though
@@djmewtwo6981 in the concept art for where he never got rid of it, he’s described as “mindless/animalistic” and gunter bosses him around
source?? @@SkepticSkepto sounds so cool
Cool ass design for Ice King at the end. I actually could see something like that happening if the crown became unstable and Adventure Time was more mature/gory.
This feels like something Simon could've become if he chose to put the Ice Crown back on again
I like how it’s still Adventure Time. Finn and Jake are Finn and Jake, and Gunter is just there. I wonder who made the video. I could see PB making these kinds of videos about potential threats, honestly.
This reminds me of how that one scene with the tape in Fionna and Cake practically already was analogue horror. Almost.
I feel like bubble gum made this tape, it seems like something she would do.
She did. Though the person filming at the end may be someone else
WHOOO WHOO I GOTTA KNOW EVERYTHING MAN
@@DevLunar Hmm… possible camera operators, in order of likelihood:
1. Betty
2. Marceline
3. PB (cloaked)

7. A booger
@@peteryang5056I'm thinkin it might be the booger
@@waynee2271 you know, you're probably right. he played with that thing for HOURS
Tom Kenny really can act as Simon. He should get more serious roles like Simon in the future.
That would be amazing!
Ice King:
Now you know my dirty secret...!
I... used to wear glasses!
*sobbing continues*
But this video tape didn't show any glasses around :")
Or I'm blind
@@dinamoon9709 True, but I just wanna reference the actual video for fun.
@@RafaelConcepcion-un1ko i know, and it was fun :")
Stay calm ice king... It's just an analog horror remix of your dark secrets. We know what is really your backstory.
While the show portrays Ice King's/Simon's delusional personality as a funny gag most of the time, the concept of the crown is pretty dark and morbid. You're basically a husk, a shell of your former self while wearing the crown. And while you're granted immortality basically, the cost is your sanity and physical appearance
This is truly horrifying and it looks like something, that could happen in the universe of Adverture Time.
@aidanpkellyconvoy thy man th tap.
@aidanpkellyconvoy i think he meant the very last part with ice king being a living corpse and not the crazy ice king we know
adverture
Time
I think one of my favorite pieces of random adventure time lore is that it is implied Santa Claus was real and was one of the crown's many wearers.
This seems like a really cool quest that’d be in an MMO where you wander through the remains of society and find yourself in a lab with these warnings in them. Then as you continue you find what the tapes portray
Honestly I thought this was just gonna be a lil silly thing, but that last animated bit with Ice King, that was -awesome-. The way he looks, the art is really good. You have some skill for sure!
I was going to type up a comment saying that ARGs are a fad but watching this video made me feel something.
Hearing the transition from Simon Petritov to the ice king was melancholic and honestly something I deeply appreciated in this video. This wouldnt've nearly had as big of an effect without it.
This video popped up in my recommendations randomly. I have never seen Adventure Time nor knew much about Ice King. But this video captured my attention immediately. Tom Kenny’s voice acting especially amazed me, without music Simon’s dialogue sound so haunting with your editing. This video is single-handedly responsible for me possibly watching Fionna and Cake, mainly for Simon/IK. His backstory is fascinating.
I got into Adventure Time when the first two episodes of Fionna and Cake came out. I knew of it and saw Distant Lands but AT was a show I only saw clips from. I absolutely fell in love with Simon/Ice King and I wanted to express that passion
I think that if Simon gave in in Fionna and Cake and put the crown on again, he would've become something like this husk
If Tik Tok users see this, they will say that it is canon or that Adventure Time is the most mature series out there.
Then, when an Adventure Time movie come out, they're going to be yapping about how it's not like they wanted it to be (what happened to the FNaF movie).
But adventure time is mature
@@espinita. I'm going to bite you.
@@espinita. It tackles mature topics here and there. But the premise, and many of the world aspects is very purposely comical. Most earlier episodes were also just weird, random or full of slapstick-level humor because it embraced being a silly cartoon
@@espinita. It is mature. But it can also be weird and silly. A show can be both simultaneously
The way the crown is portrayed in this video makes it look like a goddamn scp.
A crown that once it finds a host, it infects them with delusions and ideals created by a lost, almost godlike being who's whole element was the power of ice and frost? To the point that it makes them incredibly hostile once it finally drives them to the breaking point?
Nevermind that there are no true limits to what said powers can do depending of the user that wears it, how strong is said power to delude and make their hosts insane? The curse it holds cannot be undone until the user is truly dead.
Euclid class material right here. Or even Keter if you think about it, if a strong being with malicious intend wears it everyone is basically going through a new ice age.
If by some miracle they managed to get the crown from it's user (or found it abandoned like the dock worker presumably did) it might be classified safe as they can just lock it away.
I thought this was like a really popular vid/channel because of the production quality here, this is so cool bro. Please continue what you do, I know you'll blow up for your work
as much as I love Simon and ice king to death I gotta say this interpretation is something that would for sure make the adventure time fandom be completely different to how we know today with its demographic being older and so a lot more darker theories would come of it. and honestly I really wonder how that timeline would go.
Waiting for something like this from Gravity Falls
I'm sure there's gotta be. I would say I could try but that fandoms pretty dedicated, I don't think I could think of anything they haven't done already
A lot of the stuff in Gravity Falls already reaches this level of... disturbance? I can only imagine the true horror that would come from an analog horror take on the series.
@@DevLunar I would love to see something based on the disappearance of Grunkle Ford and a whole investigation into it
@@Irish_Mann it fisdleford
@@DevLunarmaybe something with ford and bill?
So, this video made me fall into the rabbit hole of the Adventure Time wiki and I have concluded: I REALLY need to binge this series.
Excellent video!!
For sure
This is unironically really well made! Kudos to you!
The part that got me the most was the scientific explanation for Ice King's claws. With the simplistic Adventure Time art style i just kind-of assumed it was just another part of the transformation, nothing damaging, if that isnt ironic. But in this version it states that the sharp fingers are literally bone and nail.
Also the part at the end with the "the body has been removed of its independant functioning organs" being an explanation for why IK would just die if the curse was reversed, besides just really really old. Reminds me of a horrifying astronaut story.
The third thing is Finn deals with the undead on a regular basis so the hands and corpse-like likeness of the Ice King wouldnt even phase him. This makes the scene hit harder, in a way, where Finn finally has that realization that all young gamers eventually have, where they realize that an undead army of bad guys in a fantasy setting were probably former humans. But you know, with extra Finn endling angst.
I feel like I should know the story you're referring to but I can't pin it down. Was it something well known?
what's the horrifying astronaut story?
Alright guys! Horror incoming, as promised!
So an astronaut got stranded on an empty planet (though for some reason the setting is hazy to me and it couldve been some other sci-fi world i dont remember), and plots to find a way back home. Nothing new here, standard astronaut story.
What's different about this astronaut is that they were given an expiremental bodysuit. The suit was programmed to take over (HOLD ON) in case the human inside were to pass out from dehydration or exhaustion or something, and get the human to safety. And a bunch of other things that amounted to "keep them alive".
Then, at some point, the human starts starving with no food in sight. So the suit takes initiative... by feeding them their own body parts. After being dissolved into nutrients, I hope.
It starts with little things. Fingers, toes, things like that that don't really inhibit much... then it moves on to the eyes. Then the tongue. Eventually, after some other, more internal organs get dissolved, the astronaut's whole face is practically gone.
After a shorter period of suffering, the astronaut is eventually fully consumed. The suit has no inhabitor to keep alive, to feed. So what does it do, with this newfound lack of purpose?
Well, it doesn't break down, kill itself or explode, for one thing. No, it walks off into the sunset, fully independent, like a boss. And no one ever finds it, or what it did.
@@ivyinkwell1754 ah yeah I know this story. The reason you can't remember details of the setting is because I don't think it had any. The guy is just on the planet with no explanation as to why he's lost and why he has the suit. At least from when I came across it
This gave me chills (pun intended) Given the nature of Adventure time, this more then likely is a reality in one of the many split realities. Thing is though, this means that potentially the land of Ooo is in a lot more danger of the Ice Kingdom spreading. If the crown is this kind of magical parasite, it might want to further infect the land with ice, should it ever be given the chance to do so. I can totally see viewers reading that warning at the end and going to explore the Ice Kingdom just to get the crown, only to doom all of Ooo.
This was great, hope you get to chill from school work.
Holy moly, I didn't expect the video to be of such high quality!! The art is amazing and the visual effects are so cool!
Why is this weirdly comforting…
Ngl, i would love to see somthing like this made for Golb, or even scarier... The deer
Adventure time analog horror?
Now we're talking
FR I was kinda hoping at the end that there'd be a cut back to the bros processing.
Waiting for this to become popular 🔥🔥🔥
in all reasonability the ice kings story was genuinely an analog horror
This Have Actually A Potential To Be A Analog Horror
Why do you type like "This Man Come On"?
Agreed giogaming
Agreed
I like how grounded this is
from the hundreds of analog horror tape videos ive watched, this is the first one that truly i enjoyed, good work
I think my favorite touch is how the crown's jewels glow, like ominous red eyes watching you. I also love the detail of the blizzard getting worse the longer you are near the crown, as it doesn't want you there
I was listening to Duck Shoot from The Crown tv series while watching this. Two totally different universe but nevertheless I was so excited and curious while watching.
A surprise to be sure but an icy welcome one.😊
“Dude, what are we watching?”
i loved the scp approach, also it fits with adventure time, it always liked to play with the supernatural but in a fun way, this is the same but horror, i would love to see more of it
maybe talking about the comets, the lich, the enchiridion or even the gauntlet finn used that one time although non of them fit as well as the crown those
This is amazing but also makes me wonder why no one’s tried making a Kirby analog horror that takes place within the Kirby lore. I mean TMK is brilliant, but I think the game’s lore would make a good horror base on its own.
Well if someone pulled this off with Batman the next logical step is adventure time right? They probably have enough there to pull it off.
There is a batman analog horror?
@@ronn6946 oh yeah, check it out. It’s called the Arkham tapes.
I love this, the ice crown it's really something to fear
I'm sorry that school is overwhelming you. I think it's good that you made this in the meantime though. It's the sign of a healthy, creative mind to do 'small' things like this while working on larger projects! Your spin on the Ice King here is pretty intense and honestly very cool. This just makes me that much more excited for more Motley's Mathhouse!
Genuinely one of the most fascinating AH concepts ive seen. Plus i love Adventure time. Amazing stuff!
This was awesome! Would be curious to see what horrors you could do with the Lich
A very good take you did. Love the unsettlingness of it all. Though it makes me feel even worse for Simon than I did in the show
The gemstones of the crown catching the light of the torch (flashlight) before the rest was a chilling touch! This warrants further study into what you do.
I have lots I WANT to do but editing/art/animation takes forever so a lot of what exists is very simple. I'm trying to get more ambitious
those dislikes are people who cant handle the horror. Absolutely well done!
one of the OG's before this get's popular haha
Welp Finn and Jake are gonna have trauma after watching that
THIS. I love this. Such a cool idea executed well
Adventure Time is the greatest Cartoon ever made and I will die on that hill, this is awesome!!!!!!!
Great now I wanna see more
Like Jake recording or looking back on his criminal history.
Finn and or Firn understanding who they were.
Bonnie's motives during her experiments.
Or just bmo studying Ooo.
Can’t wait for people to see this it’s good
This is gorgeous
Amazing work. 😀👍
Aren't we all glad this show was for kids at the time? This would have been absolute nightmare fuel. And the thing is: everything you said is pretty much true, they just didn't delve into the horrors and specifics in the show or do _that_ to the Ice King at the end. But it would've happened eventually
whats truly scary, is that he probably was still alive gutted by ice there... as the report said, that the Crown animates the host...
New SCP just dropped...
This is super well done, giving me Gemini home entertainment vibes
OMG ADVENTURE TIME ANALOG HORROR IS GENIUS
Man I'd love a version of this that keeps the adventure time tone ngl.
Also while this version is different from the show, people here seem to forget the crow likes Simon in a way, and wouldn't want him to be harmed.
This looks really good
Speaking of Adventure Time and analog horror, I want to see someone make a Monument Mythos inspired video giving an origin story as to how Abraham Lincoln became the king of Mars.
SHHHHH, he's sleeping! Leave him alone!
This is so peak
now this should be fionna and cake season 2
Dude this is cool i hope there more this was epic to watch :D
Thats pretty darn cool
Our poor, poor simon
Amazing work
He got Deep Icicle Disease.
What a rad concept
Its really good, good job
looks like Gunther. is going to have to put the crown on.
honestly this would go hard
What do you use to make vids
Paint tool sai for art, Sony Vegas for editing
I wasnt scared…this just made me sad and sympathetic…
haha. snowball effect.
This idea work's with the memory erase from gravity falls too
This is beautiful
*Jake:* DRAMA BOMB! 😲
this is fantastic man
More analog horror about established universes!! I'm no creator, but I have ideas abound and will share them here in case anybody with the time, resources, and drive to make more established universe analog horror might see it! I will be adding to this list as time goes on:
- a video/series detailing the rise of the totalitarian superstates known as Oceania, Eastasia, and Eurasia (Nineteen Eighty-Four)
- following up the GCPD training tape video, a video portraying the destruction of Krypton from a Kryptonian civilian's POV (Superman/DC Comics)
1) really good quality
2) kind of too long to get to the scary part. Not that it should be scaring the viewers immediately, but it kind of misses that dreadful and maddening vibe that good analog horrors have.
I think I leaned more into the fake science than horror. Before I even saw the trend that inspired me I was really more fascinated with the science of the crown. Tonally I didn't know what to go for and I do think it's a bit confused. I wasn't sure how hard I wanted to try "scaring" the audience
I think it's fine, it feels like a short documental mixed with fake science
@@DevLunar Personally I liked the more "technical" side. It reminded me of Kane Pixel's backrooms. A lot of his vids revolve around schematics of the backrooms, employee debriefing, a strong focus on the technology itself used to get to the backrooms (the threshold), etc. And I like that more than just barely explained cheap horror. So this was very good!
Ooooh really noice i wanna see moar. :3
Peak 🔥🔥🔥
Poor poor Simon.
Wish Crown also makes copy of their victin's presence as the intended user was trying to preserve himself
Santa for example
Honestly MMS needs its own analog horror
So the ice king is a living corpse that would die almost instantly without the crown?
Depends. I'm going off actual examples in Adventure Time and Fionna and Cake. Its either like Simon's gradual death over a day or the Winter King dropping dead. Either way there's nothing naturally alive inside him
@@DevLunar Wait if I remember correctly didn’t Simon stay alive normally without the crown in the series and just continued aging as he would’ve if he didn’t put the crown on?
@xuanluu4873 so I believe it's the betty episode where IK loses the magic in his crown, causing simon to return but with rapidly deteriorating health. Death is actively following simon waiting for him to die and he only survived because the magic was restored. Betty's whole goal throughout the rest of the series is to break the crowns curse without killing simon which was only accomplished after summoning golb
@@DevLunar Oooooooh I see, ty!
What’s the background music you used for this? It’s so calming
WOW, this is very good!
Hello, I loved the video you made, can you make one like this of Gravity Falls? please
Ha ha. snowball effect. get it? cause the..crown..ice magic……yeah
I love how you added real penguin sounds to the ambience... except for Gunter.
fascinating, ngl
