Just love Jerseys. My wife and I used to raise Jersey steers because calf Jersy bull calves were not worth anything around here to sell and farmers would let them die. We got hooked up with a dairy farm and he would call me to pick up the calf as soon as it dropped and he save colostrum for us and never lost a calf. We raised a lot of Jersy steers for meat and it was great meat and sold a lot of it to people that tried grain and grass feed Jersey beef.
That's some nice looking gear you have there. Have a wonderful time on your holiday! Thank you for sharing, I pray that God blesses you today! Hugs and love to you and your family. 💖✝🤗 Have a beautiful and blessed week. God Bless 💖✝🤗
I always look forward to watching your vlogs Andrew. Very informative. Enjoy your holidays with your family, and we will catch up again when your back.
Oh I wish I could work on a dairy farm. I love getting up early in morning and enjoy the weather and milking the cows. I dream of making cheese, butter, ghee...
Good stuff, just wanna wish you and the family a lovely Holiday, and don't worry to much about filming while out, more important to have time off with family :)
hope you have a wonderful vacation! i really enjoy your videos. thank you for sharing. i have no experience with cows but i love learning about them at your farm. i like what you do and how systematically you and your dad go about things. love it! take care and have fun!
Awesome video as always Andrew. Always nice to get something for free, doesn’t happen very often, as my dad used to say, never look a gift horse in the mouth. Nice work getting the sheep back in the paddock. Have a great holiday mate. Thanks Andrew for sharing.
I always find it amazing how cows know where to walk to, which can be over a half a mile away! Who said cows are not lead by their stomachs!!!! I hope you and your family have a good holiday, don't worry too much about filming. I keep forgetting that your from the "Upside down world" I messaged my Brother asking about the hot/summer like December!!! I forgot I live in the wet cold UK, he must of thought the Doctors have given me so werid meds or something (Hopefully I be home for Christmas so I can see the real outdoors) Thank you for showing all sides of farming.
Will never have a bull running loose. I understand that's the way you guys breed but bulls are mostly trouble. Great content. How about more milking vids?
Hi. Just seen your video. I live in Canada. Have a beef farm but we do have one Jersey cow. Any tips on preventing milk fever. She just calved 12 hours ago. It is always a concern for us. It only happened once. Thanks.
Hey Andrew you reckon it is humid. We went down to Cairns yesterday the temp was 35 and I reckon about 90% humidity. Was glad to get back up hill to the Tablelands👍Good to see you let the old fella in the aircon tractor while you were in the open cab. When you are milking by yourself how long does it take to do both herds ? Wishing you and your Whanau a very Merry Christmas and hope you had a nice wee break away from the farm 😄
Haha yep we’re getting like 90-95% humidity at the moment too! We just aren’t quite as hot 😂 I usually cup on at 5 and finish at about 9, so not too bad, but would be a lot nicer with a bigger shed 😩👍…one day Thanks and hopefully you have a nice Xmas/NY to 🤙
It’s not hurting it…try getting a body wax sometime 😂 Jersey cows are so sweet, and the bulls are devil incarnate. We had shorthorns herefords and jerseys when I was a kid, I loved the other bulls (even the shorthorns were docile with me) but the jersey, nah, no way. If I came across him out riding, he’d chase the heck out of me.
Wow what a full ton of stuff for you , I know a lot of farmers shave the tails I’ve seen#Tompembertonfarmlife do this to his herd. Enjoy your holibobs I hope your dad enjoyed his looking forward to next video x
I agree, I have been clipping all tails on all animals for years. I can't bear looking at dirty tails 😫. I have a cordless clippers and I do the milking cows in the parlour as I am milking. Nice clean udders and ARMS.
I had a bull lock the cows in the corner of the paddock for the first time last year, the prick would charge for no reason as well . Lets say I didn't like him and moved him with a 4wd

I wouldn’t worry about the clothing being a little on the large size. I found I generally grow into them
😂👍

Just make sure she’s getting enough calcium and you should be all right, we usually start dusting it on their grass about 2-3 weeks before they calve
@@TheOnceADayFarmer That sounds like a good idea. The calf is 8 days old now. The cow is fine. All good for another year. Thanks alot.
I think the bulls think you are going to take the cows away from them. Have a great break!
Hmm possibly 👍 thanks 🙏
What happens to your bull calf’s?
I don’t miss dealing with bulls in milkers, we just ai only now
Fair enough 👌👍
those 360 gumboots are the ones that i wear currently and they are so comfortable
🤔👍
Can u hold the bulls up and let them off when the cows have gone out
Yep can do that as well, I find it easier to just chase them to the paddock tho 👍
