If you get the chance watch the whole film a portrait of queenie all filmed in the iron bridge tavern and surrounding areas a must just to see how the east end use to be.
I think the pub you are thinking of is in fact the Iron Bridge Tavern, the venue for this film, it was on the west side of the Canning Town flyover, although, at the time Queenie was running it the flyover did not actually exist, the road crossing the river from Canning Town was just called "The Iron Bridge".
No, actually Pennyfield's, (as it use to be known) was a few mile's further west, now more commonly refer'd to as Limehouse, the Iron Bridge Tavern was as far East as you could get in Poplar, right at the start of the Canning Town Bridge.
The lovely Queenie Watts.
What a real gem.
I loved Queenie when I was a kid. They don't make them like her anymore. R.I.P Queenie.
