Though I haven’t played much of the other Zelda games… I say it would be a tie between Rhoam and Rauru. For Rhoam he added so much to Zelda’s story giving us that broken yet percerverent Zelda most Zelda players now enjoy. For Rauru he kind of add to what Rhoam established: being a father to Zelda. I liked the relationship between Sonia, Rauru, and Zelda since both Rauru and Sonia Gave what most fans, including my, wanted for Zelda, parental figures that support and guide her as well as help her figure out what her perpose is for wielding the sacred power.

Everyone is hard on Rhoam, but being a ruler and father is more difficult than we can comprehend. He's stressed and has no idea what to do, just that his daughter is the savior to the kingdom. Anyone pushed to those lengths would snap. Everyone just judges him based on a single moment in time, not who he was at heart.

Exactly plus his diary in Hyrule Castle has him confess he genuinely loves his daughter yet feels his duty as king forces him to push her for the betterment of the entire kingdom. It's less that he's been a bad father to Zelda but more so a leader faced with the risk of a cataclysmic event which would kill every single soul within his kingdom (his daughter included). Very dissapointed Nintendo didn't allow his spirit to appear before Zelda to ask her for an apology for all the pressure he placed upon her shoulders.

Rauru actually did not believe Ganondorf's oath of fealty. He even tells Zelda after Ganondorf leaves but still in that same memory that he was aware of Ganondorf's evil nature, and that his intent in accepting the oath was to keep him close. Rauru's only mistake was underestimating Ganondorf's cunning. Both he and Sonia were aware that Ganondorf had created a doppelganger in the image of Zelda. What they failed to realize was that Ganondorf's intent in getting Sonia alone with the copy was not to have the copy kill Sonia, but to allow everyone to think they had thwarted such an assassination, and then strike himself when they let their guard down afterward.

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 5 месяцев назад +14

Funnily enough i don't see why Rauru couldn't have figured that by himself as well considering his wisdom to rule a kingdom despite the lack of foresight to prevent a power-hungry megalomaniac from walking around his own castle and murder his wife. ¿Couldn't he have posted guards watching every corner and area at all times just in case something like that happened?

@@verdantmistral442Not to mention the audacity of Ganondorf's plan. It's one thing to send an assassin or even a magical doppelganger to commit the deed, but for that to smokescreen Ganon *himself* popping up on castle grounds to kill the queen with a Warlock Punch to the spine? It's wild and unfathomable, but it's totally Ganon - he would be the type to take pleasure in carrying out the act with his own hands.
And really, that's the only way the plan succeeds, only if Ganon did it himself. His direct power would have been the only way to guarantee success, both in the killing and taking Sonia's tear. But it would also put him at such absurd risk that he risks literally everything if any part fails and that's why it's discounted...unless you know Ganon and therefore know that, in his mind, if he's involved directly? There is no failure possible, he is Him. What is logically high risk, high reward is instead seen as no risk, all reward.

@@Mrryn Rauru likely figured he'd be fine to keep Ganondorf around since he should know that if he got caught trying anything, he'd have the whole kingdom after him and almost certainly be captured. What he didn't expect was for Ganondorf to go for the secret stone, which is implied when Ganondorf tells him he took his godlike power for granted. Ganondorf is shown throughout the game to be very knowledgeable on the Zonai, as he knew of their history since arriving on the surface, he immediately recognized the secret stone and he knew of draconification, and this is likely what Rauru failed to realize about him.

Since we don't know if BOTW and TOTK are part of the normal Zelda timeline, it's not sure if Ganondorf is another reincarnation of Demise. But if were not the case, how does a mortal like Ganondorf have enough magic power to be amplified by the sacred stone many times over that of the 6 sages and King Rauru? But if he is another reincarnation, that would explain a lot.

Honestly, I can't understand hating Rhoam. Like it doesn't take much to understand the position he was in, not just as a king or father, but as one of the people responsible for saving the world. His efforts were ultimately fruitless and the solution was always out of his grasp, but he needed to make sure that Zelda unlocked her powers or else the whole kingdom and potentially the world would be doomed. So he pushed her and made sure that there were no distractions so that she could be ready, and he regretted it and ultimately died on bad terms with his daughter, something no father could want. I feel like people who hate him have this idea that if he was lighter on her and let her do what she wanted that she would unlock her powers and everyone would live happily, but from what we see, she was only ever going to unlock her powers after it was already too late. I can't hate Rhoam and think that in spite of it all, he was a good person stuck in a terrible situation, doing what he thought was right not only for his people but also his daughter, because if she did not unlock her powers, she would be dead too.

    • @RFDN0
      @RFDN0 5 месяцев назад +13

Honestly he didn't have a chance to be a good father. He had the weight of both his kingdom and the grief of losing his wife happen simultaneously. Even without the prophesy saying that his daughter would be needed to save Hyrule just those issues likely would have been enough to have him fail to connect to his daughter and her growing up with him as a stranger to her. Then she had to be a critical point of attention for his duties and all bets were off.
Zelda needed her love for Link or the courage to risk her life to unlock her power. Neither could happen before Ganon attacked... specifically because Ganon seems to have actively been looking for threats to it's attack and trying to strike at the best time.

I think it doesn't help that knowing how previous Zelda's powers and stories worked it's clear Rhoam doomed Hyrule by pushing Zelda too hard.
Wind Waker's Tetra proved the power is natural and the princess don't need to train it and we were told in Skyward Sword that only the first Zelda needed to pray at fountains to do that and that was to unlock her memory of being a goddess.
Had Rhoam not pushed Zelda to go to the fountain of Wisdom the moment she turned 17 she would have been in the castle when Calamity Gannon arose right were she needed to be to hold him at bay long enough for the Hero to do what he need to to defeat Gannon.
Rhoam was cruel because he thought he was being a good King by putting his kingdom above his daughters but the reality was he doomed both to suffer for a hundred years as a consequence of his suborn instance that he was right (not unlike the king from OOT) despite the clear evidence that what he was doing was not working.
And then (the admittedly non canon) Age of Calamity added him taking all Zelda's toys which denied her a powerful weapon, ally and information source. Which reenforced the theme that whenever Rhoam hurt Zelda to save Hyrule all he did was further doom them both.

    • @CometX-ing

@@sfsin3380 You're making the assumption that she would unlock her powers at the castle but it was clear that as shown in both BotW and AoC that what was needed was for someone who she cared for to be in danger to awaken her powers. It could maybe be argued that seeing her father in danger would unlock her powers, but Rhoam would have sent her away from the castle and defended it himself for her protection anyway. BotW Zelda is not previous Zeldas if unlocking her power came that naturally to her, then she wouldn't have struggled to do so for years nor would she only have unlocked it literally as Link was about to be killed.
Rhoam didn't doom Hyrule, Hyrule was doomed from the start because Zelda was only ever going to unlock her powers too late.

Sure, Bellum would still be around, albeit his ghost ship would likely have been beached somewhere or stuck in a lake. Ganondorf would have a field day with that one. Malladus likely wouldn’t be unsealed for even longer as well. - He is a wise king, relating the proverb that the true purpose of a warrior is to create eras of peace
    - He is a man of humble delights, wondering about what he shall have for dinner
    - acts to protect his neighbors: when his court wizard warns him that the neighboring kingdom of Koridai is attacked by Ganon, his immediate response is to offer aid despite the fact it isn't his war
    - Is forward-thinking and willing to throw himself into action: when one of Hyrule's vassal states is under attack, Harkinian does not hesitate to travel there himself to assess the problem
    - Is worthy of the Triforce of Courage ("I'll take the Triforce of Courage to protect me!")
    - Shows mercy even to his greatest enemies, but is still firm: when Duke Onkled's betrayal is unmasked, Harkinian punishes him to public servitude instead of the death sentence for his defection to Ganon.

He may be a great ruler and he did get his redemption in the Age of Calamity alternate timeline, but King Rhoam is a worst parental figure to his own daughter after his queen’s passing.
The way he treated her disgusted me cuz he wasn’t supportive of Princess Zelda’s passion for Shiekah Tech and being so cold to her as she is nothing but a failure due to the lack of unlocking her sealing power. Being a maiden is not Zelda’s thing. She’s more into being a scholar.
If he ever finds out that the Light Dragon is indeed his daughter being Draconified, he would be more guilty about pushing her way too far than ever before…
I related to BOTW/TOTK’s Zelda since I too have a dysfunctional relationship with my old man. He often yells at me for no damn reasons. The (First) Imprisoning War - demons vs Hylia and the gods.
Skyward Sword - game ends with the founding of Hyrule.

War of the Bound Chest - as told by Minish Cap. Would be a good macguffin to save Hyrule after Rauru imprisons Ganondorf in the flashbacks and Ganondorf's horde of monsters is left to run amok. Would be a good place for King Gustaf to do his thing, heck Gustaf could even be the hero that sealed the Bound Chest.
Minish Cap / Four Swords - King Daltus rules here.
Fierce War (OOT) / Civil War (LTTP) - The Fierce War is fought over the Triforce which is found in the Sacred Realm by knights sent out when Vaati masqueraded as the king in Minish Cap. This war fractures Hyrule and allows Ganondorf Dragmire to become the Bandit King of the desert. Kinda feel bad for all the hardship King Daphnes deals with...
    Downfall Timeline
LTTP - Ganondorf gets his hands on the Triforce during the civil war and becomes Ganon. Ganon gets sealed in the Sacred Realm to protect Hyrule. Daphnes brings on Agahnim as his advisor and is killed by the wizard after Ganon possesses Agahnim. Link eventually defeats Ganon and wishes Daphnes back.
Oracle games, Link's Awakening - LTTP Link leaves Hyrule to have various adventures.
Ancient Stone Tablets - LTTP Link is still off adventuring. Daphnes, Zelda, and the sages summon a new hero to save Hyrule while Link is gone.
Link Between Worlds / Triforce Heroes - These games happen a few generations after LTTP.
Zelda 1 and Zelda 2 - This is interesting, because if you read the lore of these games there are two different Zeldas in these games but the same Link. This means after Link saves Zelda in Zelda 1, he journeys north to save another Zelda in Zelda 2. After Zelda 2, Hyrule prospers.
CDi games - While non-canon, the adventures in these games would easily fit somewhere after Zelda 2.. and if we stick em in the timeline we get all the memetic lines from King Harkinian to be canon. So, that's a fair trade if you ask me.
    Adult Timeline
The Great Flood - OOT Link defeats Ganon, Zelda sends Link back in time, removing Link from the timeline and breaking the Hero's Line set up way back in Skyward Sword. 100 years later Ganon's seal is broken and Ganondorf returns. Unable to stop him, Daphnes eventually has to resort to flooding Hyrule.
Wind Waker - Daphnes helps a random child nut up and save the islands of the Great Sea with Tetra.
Phantom Hourglass - direct sequel to WW.
Spirit Tracks - 100ish years after Phantom Hourglass, a New Hyrule was founded by Tetra and WW hero.
Tingle Spinoff games - These take place after Spirit Tracks due to the reoccurring characters, but are technically non-canon.
    Child Timeline
Majora's Mask - OOT Link warns Zelda, both children warn Daphnes. Ganondorf is imprisoned and Hyrule makes peace with the Gerudo. Link, Zelda, and Malon become childhood friends. Link eventually leaves to find Navi, ends up lost in some woods, and finds his way to Termina where he does the hero thing. After MM, Link returns to Hyrule and serves as a royal knight and settles down in this timeline. Since Link is a knight because of the Hero's Shade in TP, chances are he never marries OOT Zelda.
Twilight Princess - Because of Ganondorf's execution in this game's backstory, it is highly likely that Ganondorf Dragmire kills Sage Rauru and Princess Ruto in this timeline since he killed the sage of light and sage of water before he was thrown into the Twilight Realm. OOT Link also dies somewhere between OOT and TP since about 100 years have passed because OOT Link becomes the Hero's Shade.
Hyrule Warriors - While non-canon, the time portals bringing everyone together and opening portals to various timelines would be a good explanation for why BotW Hyrule has all sorts of landmarks named after the three separate timelines. Since Hyrule Warriors is highly implied to take place in the Child Timeline a good time after Twilight Princess, that would mean all timelines merge here.
    Unified Timeline
BotW - After Hyrule Warriors there's a gap in time, a golden age, a decline as Sheikah tech is forgotten, then the Calamity's return, Link's defeat and resurrection, and finally the fall of Calamity Ganon. While Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is considered non-canon, I still like to think of it as part of the timeline as a spin-off because it is so much fun to see the Champions get to interact with each other and flesh out some characters more.
TotK - Because Maddison is about 6 to 8 years old, that means the time gap between BotW and TotK is pretty minimal. Not even a decade.

But what about the Rito? They existed in the TotK flashbacks, but not in the games before WW, and later, BotW. How are you going to explain that?

    • @sintanan469
      @sintanan469 5 месяцев назад

@@JaredtheRabbit It's not a perfect fit, but Twilight Princess gives us the oocca. A bird-like race that helped the gods build their civilization in the sky.
If the zonai were the lesser "gods" all the legends in the various games refer to when not talking about Din, Nayru, and Farore; that means we can make Hylia "just" a zonai leader, which then ties into the sacred stone of light Zelda uses in TotK and the sacred light that is passed through Hylia's bloodline to the princesses of Hyrule.
If we use all these assumptions, that means the zonai built their civilization before the demon war using zonaite mined from the depths, with the labor of the tribal races of human, gerudo, zora, and goron. Meanwhile the picori and the oocca help the zonai build their floating sky islands up in the heavens.
Then we get the Demon War where the monsters rise from the Depths after demon king Demise was woken by the zonai mining efforts. The zonai, led by Hylia and her red-haired champion, militarize the surface tribes and fight to the last against the demons. The majority of humans are uplifted to the sky islands by Hylia where they become hylians. The surviving oocca abandon the sky islands to the humans, using the Stormwind Ark to leave the warfare and only a couple oocca are left behind for Link to encounter in TP. The oocca on the Stormwind Ark change over time into the modern rito. If the goddess magic can turn some zora into humans with bird traits in 300 years, what would wind magic and zonai magitech do to bird people over 10,000 years?
This allows the events of Skyward Sword to play out. Then after Skyward Sword when the humans return to the surface as hylians, we get Rauru and Mineru as the last two zonai on the surface. Rauru ends up with Sonia, the daughter of SS Link and Zelda, and Rauru and Sonia go on to found Hyrule.
This does add the caveat that Sonia would have to had children before the flashbacks in TotK, because the royal lineage leads to all the Zeldas that come after to have access to light magic... just means the royal child(ren) weren't important to the story of TotK and weren't mentioned.
This then allows the survivors after Ganondorf's imprisonment by Rauru to battle the remnants of the monster horde in what would become the War of the Bound Chest that is referenced in Minish Cap, thus setting up the entire timeline.

One thing that you have to keep in mind with Zelda lore when you looking at the franchise as a whole is you have two dozen different jigsaw puzzles that all vaguely resemble one another enough that with enough jamming pieces together and squinting where things don't quite line up or scribbling over the gaps you can get one massive puzzle out of the mess.
Just turns out there's dozens of ways of sticking everything together.

One king that got missed was the OG Rauru. Would have been cool to go into any potential timeline/lore as he was introduced as the first king of hyrule in OOT and the first of the sages Link meets during his timeskip through the sacred realm.

Does it make an sense to place the time where sonia and rauru lived in the adult timeline between phantom hourglass and spirit tracks? Like sonias appearance as an ancient of zelda the darker toned skin with the lighter haircolor and advanced Technologie in spirit Tricks with the whole train thing?
Don't know about the location tho..
Just a few thoughts i had while watching this Video, that as usual turnen out pretty good and your voice is nice, too! Thanks for your effort ❤

Something cool I noticed about Sonia is that the color of her skin and hair are the same as Impa from Skyward Sword. Impa even has that white tear mark on one of her eyes the ancient Hylians all have. Impa states at the end of Skyward Sword that she's part of the Sheikah tribe, and we know the Sheikah are Hylians, so Sonia's design seems to fall in line with the ancient Hylians from Skyward Sword's world too.

27:24 Something I am Curious about is why didn't Sonia's Ghost show herself to Link? Hell, She could have used Recall on Link at the Very Start of the Game when Rauru took him to the Room of awakening to undo the Damage that Ganondorf's Gloom did to him.

This is very random and unrelated entirely to this video (which is great and very well done btw) but I would love to see a ‘Lore of the Kokiri’ video. Also a return of them and their fairies in a newer installment of LOZ. Or even have the new version of them, the Koroks, act as fairies of some sort for the Kokiri so they both can coexist! I know the Koroks are them in their “evolved form” like Pokémon but Idk.. I’m currently replaying OoT for the millionth time lol and it’s kinda sad that we never really see them again. The Dekus as well and even the skull kids. They all played huge parts in the hero of time’s life in OoT and MM so to now see them all just gone in future installments has me missing their presence.
Like in MM the Dekus even had their own established colony with a royal family and all. Their own prominent race coexisting along side the Gorons and the Zoras! If the Rito race can exist still along side the Zora, then the Deku should make a comeback as well. They can even have a slightly evolved form where they can also have a designated warrior and sage for their race like everyone else including the Gerudo.
My last point, I feel the 7 sages and races of Hyrule in future installments should/could be:
Deku, Kokiri, Goron, Zora, Rito, Gerudo, and a Hylian. Or can even make it 8 if they wanna somehow bring back the Zonai.

The best King is none other than King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule, father to Princess Zelda Hyrule II.
Weilding a mighty Royal Claymoren above his head, he fell, saving the last remaining citizens from the gaurdian horde at the Siege Of The Akkala Citidel.
All hail King Rhoam and the Knight and Princess who will succeed him.

My Theory is that Rauru did indeed founded Hyrule prior Minish Cap. Evidence:
    1) Concept Art of the OG "The Legend of Zelda" shows Links looking at the "Dueling Peaks".
    2) When Zelda goes back in time to the old old old Hyrule the "Dueling Peaks" are just a "Mountain".
I dont know what they can pull, but I do think they did designed this game without thinking into a timeline but at the end added small easter eggs that tell us which timeline it is.

The shifting geography of the many Hyrules seen across the timeline makes it utterly _impossible_ for Rauru's Hyrule to predate every single Hyrule that we've seen across all the 3 timelines. Take into account the many locations and landmarks across the series which do not *exist* in the Era of the Wild's Hyrule such as Mount Crenel, the Desert of Doubt, Snowpeak Mountain and Sacred Grove and it becomes explicitly clear that the Hyrule we see in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are totally seperate from previous iterations of the kingdom.

King Daphnes is absolutely *not* the king in OoT. He was king during the events that led to Hyrule being flooded and the intro makes it clear that this happened so long after OoT that the events of OoT had become legend.

Topic idea: Zelda didn't just send Link back in time at the end of OoT; she also sent Navi. So, it wasn't just LINK's existence that was erased, but also Navi's. Nobody else has gone through time other than gods/goddesses and the chosen hero. So, I wonder what kind of mess THAT caused to the fairy kingdom (or the Zelda universe as a whole). Fairies live long, but they don't typically violate the flow of time. Is that why Navi disappears in the child timeline...to receive her punishment? And in the adult timeline, there's no mention of her. And in the fallen timeline, we can assume she was killed along with Link. So, was she supposed to die in all three timelines? And if so, was that because she broke some fairy taboo by traveling through time as well?

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 5 месяцев назад

Lol for an "atheist queen" you are very good at writing fanfiction. You need to remember that fairies are purely _magical_ beings who's existence in the Zelda universe fulfills a divine purpose connected to the many gods which rule and maintain the balance of the universe. Taking into account the messianic-Jesus nature behind the Hero of Time's existence it is very much a fact that Navi's very relationship with Link was part of a _preordained_ purpose set up by the Golden Goddesses who always intended for her to travel across Past and Future to save the timelines from Ganondorf's meddling. The reason why Navi left Link at the end was simply a reaction to their quest been over giving her no more reason to be with him anymore.

Bandit, it’s my general belief that Rauru is the king of a Hyrule that existed BEFORE Skyward Sword. I mean, there was obviously some kind of civilization on the surface before those people were taken to the sky. That would’ve been the first Hyrule. As for how long before BOTW that would’ve been, here’s what I think. The Great Calamity happened 10,000 to 10,100 years before BOTW, right? Let’s say the first Hyrule could’ve been founded about 5,000 years before that, to give a good chunk of time between the founding + all the other games and BOTW
