The wooden cutout that you didn't know what it was, looks to me like the shape of an old vintage Santa with a sack hanging over the shoulder.
I was thinking it was a Nativity piece, butI think you’re right.
I thought a skinny santa too!
Oh thank you Joan!😊
Exactly what I was thinking too!!!!
The thing the gentleman gave you is a receptacle for table crumbs. Usually, it has a brush. My mom called it A Silent Butler. I really like that one.
That’s awesome! I would have never guessed that!😊
It is for brushing crumbs off your tablecloth.
I have an old pattern for kids’ Halloween costumes which I put in a shadow box frame. I used a piece of orange paper behind it and hang it every October.
That’s awesome Ruth! 😊
The white pieces from Japan are ashtrays. the covered dish attached is to hold cigarettes. They would take them out of the pack and place them loosely i dish with cover. My parents had this.
I thought so to.
Thank you for sharing! 😊
Great finds! And you should rest and recover!
oops the candle holder is what the use on pigs when they butchered them to remove hair. It is called a Hog scraper.
Yes! Hog scrapper!
Guess you can use anything for candle holder, Just use your imagination!
I just sold one here in Ky for 45.00
Sonnet, that first item you showed with a wooden handle and a lid that you flip up, is a "Silent Butler". My mom had one and she told me it was used to brush crumbs off the table so they didn't go on the floor. Hers also had a brush that went with it. They are really neat and you rarely see them anymore.
That’s so cool Bonnie. Thank you for sharing! 😊
Pat from Whitewater here. Maybe that silver ring with the spout and handle could be glued onto a jar.
It's a silent butler. Should have a little brush to match. One is supposed to brush table crumbs off the tablecloth into the silent butler. Victorians had gadgets for everything. But silent butlers were used at least until the early 1960s. 2:55
Oh how interesting! 😊
I think the wood violin would look cool with sheet music on it in the center.
Great idea Susan! 😊
It’s called silent butler for table crumbs
Sonnet I think you should not have a video Friday. You need to wrap yourself up in blankets and get lots of rest for your big event on the weekend. I think all of your followers would agree with me. We all get sick one time or another. So just rest. Rest for all of us, so your get over this bug earlier.
Thank you Susan. 😊
Make you a scarecrow with your Bible overalls it would be so cute
Cute idea Deni!😊
I'm in the far-far western burbs of Chicago and the 'C' is going around here (and I don't mean convention). I'm recovering at the moment and my hubby has started with symptoms. Maybe test for it if you've been down here?
Oh dear, I have been down there! 😮
Definitely an old world Santa with a bag(the wood cut out) I’ve painted it before
Thank you MaryAnn!😊
the jars are part of a dresser set. They came with jars mirrors, comb brush power box. ect.
Hope you feel better. The wood pcs are tall Santa's.😂 Have painted tons of them.
Comnie could draw a pattern out for them.
Oh! Yes!!😊
It's a warmer to put under your blankets. Those shapes look like a knife cut out
The long handled silver box is used to collect crumbs from the table. It usually has a brush and a small dustpan that goes with it.Go get some tea and rest up!
The top of the jug would so pretty with a IOD transfer inside of it , just cut a piece of wood for it
Great idea Cindy!😊
The atomic symbol for silver is Ag. Research that box... it is beautiful and maybe something special.
Thank you MaryAnn!😊
The white set made in Japan is a cigarette box and ashtrays for guests.
People are quite nostalgic about playschool and fisher price. I'd keep the blocks with the wagon. Kids love pulling a wagon. May you feel better quickly.
Thank you so much!😊
the set is ashtrays, and the box held cigarettes, they were to put on living room stands.
The box and little trays is a cigarette box and personal ashtrays.
Oh interesting! Thanks Dee!😊
This is the first time I’ve watched one of your videos and I can’t believe you got all of these beautiful things at the bins!
She truly is so fortunate to have the thrift stores she has! There is always unbelievable stuff there. I have threatened before that I'm moving to Wisconsin... I'm so envious! 🙂😉
I am very fortunate to have these stores! They pretty much never disappoint! 😊
I would soak the vintage lace in oxy clean
The brown pottery bowls with lids are marcrest.
Thank you Rickey! 😊
That first silver dish looked like a food warmer that you place a tea light under.
I sold a small metal tractor a few years back and I placed a bottle brush tree with the little red balls or berries on it from Walmart on the tractor seat. A tree would be great. I also have several of those wooden hobby horses and it should have had a base. I painted some white and some minty green (like farm fresh) and distressed them. I left the hearts cause little girls like hearts.
The numbers on that metal piece could just be the booth ID and the spoons are probably one end to stir and one end to taste….so cool, I have never seen them before!😮
That hand
mirror is stunning! I’m pretty sure my Gramma had that clock!
So many great items! Get well soon you can catch so fish!🎣
Thank you Lisa! 😊
That candle holder is a hog scraper!
Well that changes everything a bit! 😂
Wonderful haul! My concern for your symptoms is Covid. I had every symptom you have. Try to chill and get better. 😊
Thank you. 😊
The primitive piece is a hog scraper. I bought one and my husband said ewww do you know what that is? Lol I still think it is neat!
Oh! How interesting. 😂
The two spoons with the trough between the bowls are tasting spoons for hot liquids, soups, etc. You would dip one end into the soup and then tip it so the liquid runs down to the opposite “bowl” and in so doing, the liquid cools just enough so you can taste it without burning your tongue. How do I know this? My dad made one for my mom before they were married and I have it. He was a great woodworker.
I love learning new things
This is so cool! Thank you for sharing!😊
The wood piece with the metal top is a hog scraper.
Well that doesn’t sound pretty! 😂
Nice finds . U can tea dye the crochet piece .
Hope you’re feeling better soon❤ so many FUN finds!!!
Thank you! 😊
Your Japanese piece is a smoking set - 3 personal ashtrays and the box would hold cigarettes and a lighter or there may have been a separate matching table lighter
Very interesting!😊
The little pottery pieces look like Christmas ornaments.
That would be cute! 😊
Oh a silent butler crumb catcher! Smaller versions were ashtrays!
Hate to be negative Nellie, but have you done a Covid test. My daughter is just now getting over it. 😢
I know, if I’m not feeling better in the next day or so I will.
💗
That looks like a butter holder with little butter pats
hope you feel better soon!
Thank you Lin!
Ha! This is a Whatzit haul. There are youtube channels devoted to what's this thing?
The brass horn is a car horn missing the rubber bulb. Not sure what the true name is but it goes Oogah! Probably made to be decorative since it says India.
White set with trays and lid is a covered cigarette holder with individual ash trays. Probably were 4 trays.
I think Crate and Barrel sold the Tree Spirit wooden bowls.
The blue second hand on the vintage alarm clock most likely glows in the dark after it has absorbed some light.
Macintosh coats can be very expensive. They still make toggle coats similar to yours. The new wool/cashmere blend ones sell for over a thousand dollars. I assume yours is not cashmere and I don't know what prices the vintage ones bring.
The pearly plate is called opalescent glass, or sometimes opalescent milk glass. I have an identical plate from my grandma.
I've seen wind chimes made of those clay shapes, although, they wouldn't stand up to much wind.
Great information! Thank you so much Melody! 😊
Good morning Ag is the periodic table symbol for silver. Hope that helps.
Thank you Sarah! 😊
That item is a crumb catcher - it was used to watch crumbs from a fine table that would be swept into it. Definitely leave as is. 😊
Thank you Beth!😊
Sonnet, you’ve been burning your candle at both ends. You’ve got so many things going on, it isn’t any wonder that you’re sick. You’ve got to rest up, friend! I agree with Covid test!
I’m trying to get as much rest as I can. 😊
I found a lace table cloth and I used the best parts and put them in old window frames that were missing the glass. They're beautiful. I think you found some good things.
I hope you feel better. Something brought covid to our county. It's everywhere. I've been sick for over a week. Lupus flared up, the rheumatologist changed all my meds and surprise here's covid. I do so much to avoid getting sick and this mess doesn't want to leave.
You asked about the wooden blocks. I would have bought them too. I love to give my grandkids vintage toys. No electronics. My 8 year old granddaughter asked what the kiddie phone was...😂😂😂😂 Remember the one with the big eyes.....they e never seen a phone with a handle you speak in to. It's hilarious. The baby is 1 so it's fun for her.
I love this!😊
Pitcher top is pretty,do a candle holder ❤
Great idea Anita!😊
Is it a Rolex box with the crown on it??
Hmmm, interesting. I’ll have to look more into it! 😊
LOL on the candle holder.
The white container with a covered dish was probably a cigarette and ashtray holder. My parents both smoked and they had something similiar sitting on the coffee table for years. The container with lid was used to put cigarettes from a pack in the covered dish.
Thank you for sharing! 😊
At about 18:30 that's loose cigarette holder and individual ashtrays.❤
Thank you Shirley! 😊
the silver tray with a handle is a "silent butler", probably 40-60s. Used to empty ash trays at a dinner party.
French horn...misding the mouth piece
That thing you thought was a candle holder is a hog scrapper, to take the hair off the hides. The items that had two spoon openings on the ends are to cool the liquid first before tasting, so you won’t get burned.
Thank you for sharing! 😊
All the small things with the hole in the top would make such a cute garland!!
Yout garden sounds fun! ❤
I think the cutout is a Shepard from Nativity scene.
I cannot get over the wonderful things that end up in the bins in your area. I don't have a bins near me but by looking at my Goodwill it would be a bunch of crap and you always find so many great things. I hope you get to feeling better, get some rest and take care of yourself!
Thank you Charlotte! 😊
A wall hook for the silver ornate bit
I just thrifted the same item! That cool thing is a crumb catcher! Mine came with a little brush in the back! Does yours? 🎉❤ 01:46
No it didn’t have a brush. 😊
##replay ❤❤
Oh sonnet I am so sorry your sick. U sound terrible u poor thing. Sending prayers hun ❤
Thank you Lisa!😊
@SonnetsGardenBlooms hope u frel better and get to go on your trip and enjoy
I can't believe all the beautiful and unique things you found!
I’m very blessed with the Bin near me! 😊
Love the horse! If it stands, take the rod out.
Awesome haul ❤
You might need to be checked for RSV.
Those crochet blankets are gorgeous!
I know!!!😊
Santa on the other wood pieces
I still use the yellow Tupperware measuring cups. Also have the measuring spoons as well. Lol. Just use what works after 45yrs..
That’s awesome Darlene! 😊
I think AG is for silver.
We had that summer cold/allergy thing go through half of our family and it was absolutely miserable 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ It definitely was very draining
That’s a bummer Tracy.
It's a job scraper, and silver crumb collector and the wooden thing,I think it's a Santa
Thank you Mindy! 😊
I just saw the weirdest commercial during Sonnets video, an advertisement for Anatomy supplies: skeletons, acrylic limbs with the bones visible, limbs to practice IV’s, etc. Just a really out of the ordinary ad. I don’t know if you all see the same ads🤷🏾♀️
😂 that’s interesting.
“I don’t even like war”…I just love you and I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to catch you much lately. This video made me feel so ok and normal🤣💕. Cuz I’m so much like you. Girlfriend…do you really have to go fishing this weekend? (I get it from WI too). Everyone will live without a video Friday. Rest and take care of you this week.
Thanks Kimberlon. 😊
OMG....we had that exact dictionary when I was a kid. It was used for all the short toddlers to help them reach the table. I remember the cover and yours is exactly as it was. Lucky you! I doubt it still exists at my childhood home.
That’s awesome Karen! 😊
The wood piece should be vertical and looks like a wiseman from a nativity scene?
Oh… that makes sense! 😊
That funky wooden handle with the inverted cup (candle holder) is a hog scraper. Pretty gross when you think about it. I sure hope you’re feeling better. You need to take the time for yourself and rest.
That is pretty gross! 😂
Hog scraper
The cutout looks like a woman’s silhouette to me. Would probably make cute angels.
Or maybe part of a manger scene, like the wisemen or shepherds? Would make cute angels, like you suggested.
that square item might be a bed warmer?
Thank you Joy! 😊
You need to take vit c, tea with honey. You need to rest. You need some self- love.
I know Connie, I’m trying to get my vitamins in as much as possible! 😊
❤❤
Soak that table runner with some oxiclean
I will try that Barbara! Thank you. 😊
Are you sure it's not covid!? You may want to get a covid test my dear!
I will probably have to test for that if I don’t feel better soon.
Great haul. Hope you feel better soon. Get some rest. You work so hard.
Thank you Lexine! 😊
Isn’t silver stamped 955? I don’t remember 🤔
🤷♀️
It’s a butlers tray. Usually wealthy people had them with a matching fancy brushed the crumbs into that from the dining table as crumbs ended up on the table cloth or table. I love mine and considering upgrading it.
Tree on the truck would look great!
I think so too! 😊
look the brown baking dishes up they are worth some money. I can't think what the name of them.
"I dont even like war!" You are adorable! I hope you get well soon ❤
Thank you!
The pottery looks Japanese inspired to me.
YES-add a tree to the wooden red tractor truck! It will be adorable!
I think the silver pitcher top might go on a glass carafe.
It's either a knife or Illinois.
Love the thrift hauls❤
The square piece was used to catch crumbs when swept off a table??
Interesting, thank you Susan!😊
Great finds! Those little ceramic pieces I'm thinking might have been part of a wind chime.
Those would make a great wind chime!😊
