Yes, Happy birthday to Papa Bellón. I think the word you might have been looking for when describing how chess positions were in the past, before computers, is "ambiguous."
Happy birthday Juan! For someone who wasn't a GM at the time to decline a perpetual with black against Karpov takes nerves of steel - I bet 90% of people in that situation would have taken the draw immediately. And then forcing him to find a rook sac when otherwise he'd have been completely lost - wow!
What a wonderful video. Thank you for this. Your father is truly skilled. Happy birthday to him and I hope you are inspired as you said you wanted to be.
such a briliant to see a draw like 10 moves far away....imagine the karpov after seeing this draw he saw his lost even...after karpov see his lost he try to find a escape
It was beautiful when you said your father’s name so fluently of course but it confused me at first and I had to think is Anna talking about the Spanish priest Fr Ruy Lopez that originally studied the Spanish opening! My brother and I when we were kids in the early eighties idolized Karpov before his nemesis appeared. We used to laugh that he listed his interests outside chess as philately and Marxist-Leninism thinking he was joking with both. Now as an older man I realize, stamps are excellent highly fungible commodities and can alllow wealth to be transferred easily and he was probably indoctrinated into the Communist system. Karpov visiting Kasparov in prison later when the latter was arrested for protesting against the curtailment of freedoms was genuinely touching. You should be very proud of your father’s achievements and he reminds me of Tal or Stein with initiative at all costs being the leitmotif of his vigorous play.
Happy birthday to your Dad and what a great result to get a draw against Karpov> I think if your Dad started with white pieces and began with the cow opening he would have won
Happy Birthday to GM Dad! Amazing game! BTW: In 1973, Karpov was No. 2 of the FIDE world rank list, superseded only by a guy called Robert James Fischer, who wasn't playing chess anymore at that time. So back then, your dad drew with the black pieces(!) against the already best active player in the world!
Actually sacrificing f4 pawn is brilliant because white has not castled yet and the file could open up at any moment and pressure the king to castle immediately to king side making the attack affective😃
Only in tournaments with other Soviet players to bolster their scores and minimize Soviet losses. Her dad was Spanish, so why would he draw him deliberately?
Traditionally, in Spain (where she was born) a person's first surname is the father's first surname (apellido paterno), while their second surname is the mother's first surname (apellido materno).

I love your dad agressiveness, he never hesitate to do such an insane move just to enjoy the game that’s great to see !
Happy birthday to your dad

Juan more time (he-he).
My card, your smiling energy and your speaking voice is my fave thing ever. I'm in love.
Wish you the best, champ.
Thx Anna. You do inspire.

Happy Birthday Juan! And thanks Anna for sharing your amazing chess loving family.

Yep, still getting inspired by your videos and slowly getting better at chess 😊 Happy birthday to your Dad 🎉

Thank you for sharing this remarkable game with us!
Feliz cumpleaños!!!
Great game, very informative. Thank you for sharing. Learning heaps from watching these video's and streams.
Felicidadeeees a tu padre 🤗🤗🤗
In 1970ies and 1980ies then were usually around 3 Players at the same time > 2600. 1981 they were Karpov, Korchnoij and the German Robert Hübner.
Happy birthday to your dad.
Happy birthday to your dad🎉
Great job 👏🏻
1978: Legendary Baguio city Karpov - Korchnoij with the Kefir Scandal. My father bought a chess clock and we played a game each day. I was 13 yo.
Yet that is a precious gift for your father to share with everyone: historical origin. 17:00 I’m sure he still likes to use it.
i think this game also shows what a fucking great player Karpov is, that he was able to survive this attack !!!
Cumpleaños feliz! Un recuerdo de su partida contra Anatoly por su hija me parece un regalo magnífico. Seguro que está encantado. 👍👌
¡Felicidades!
To this day Anatoly Karpov wishes that he played the Cow Opening during this game
Ever since the Tal game, I have been waiting for another analysis session.
Actually sacrificing f4 pawn is brilliant because white has not castled yet and the file could open up at any moment and pressure the king to castle immediately to king side making the attack affective😃
Nice. I like the Karpov variation of the Caro.
Happy bd dad
Impressive game, thanks for sharing!!
i feel like karpov drew you dad instead of your dad drwaing karpov
Feliz Cumpleaños GM!
If GM Lopez can defeat Tal, I don't really need any other information.
Cool game. Happy Birthday to your dad.
Proud game…
No I watch because you are a darling. And will be rooting for you next week!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎉🎉
Amazing game. Thanks for sharing
I like it when you discus game.
So cute you trying to figure out an analogue clock. :)
Congrats to your Dad!
HBD!
enjoyed - tyvm
At 19:22, if Karpov took the pawn on D4 with his rook wouldn't he be a pawn up?
Feliz cumpleanos papa bellon
All the clocks at my club were made in russia. When they were replaced with digital I got a few of them.
This game is older than I am. And I'm old.
I miss the old analog clocks. They gave me a better sense of time than digital clocks.
No you dont, stop being an attention whore
I would expect nothing less from a Taurus.
13:11 but after hxg3, Karpov can just go Qh1+, and after the forced Qh3, Qxh3#. Did your father not see that?
So, how many languages do you speak?
This is comical: I reckon Anna was drunk. And why not?
I think lots of us are watching to see a pretty girl be amazing. And also to learn about chess
I like the part where Anna said :O :0 :o :O :D
I love your parents. they are my favourite streamers.
I FOUND ROOK H5
Most people above 25 have played with analog clocks no?
Some Kids in the 80's couldn't as well.
👏👏👏
are you acoustic
Wow nice game
My birthday is 12 may 🎉
the level of chess was not worse then. it was much more romantic and swashbuckling as were most things except the clothes, the hair and abba
Karpov is still better though than everyone in your family Anna😊.
Today is also my birthday 🥳
Why does Anna have an anglo surname? Does her father have English ancestors?
Feliz Cumpleanos a tu Padre. Te amo y espero que Jesus Christo venga a este Mundo muy pronto. La verdad is the only thing that withstands time...
merecia ganhar!
Anatoly Karpov is politician now, right?
Is your Dad descended from Ruy Lopez?
Let's be honest, Soviet players often drew on purpose during the cold war.
Only in tournaments with other Soviet players to bolster their scores and minimize Soviet losses.
Her dad was Spanish, so why would he draw him deliberately?
Anna stop flexing your parents lol
New guy here how many languages you speak can please say something in Spanish
And Karpov was only 22...😉
Btw, belated HBD to your dad! 🥳
Your dad probably cheated and looked at stockfish
Hi Anna. I noticed that you took your Mom's last name. Can you tell us why? Scratch this question because I just Googled it an got the answer.
Traditionally, in Spain (where she was born) a person's first surname is the father's first surname (apellido paterno), while their second surname is the mother's first surname (apellido materno).
Girl, some of your metaphors are weird af
