    Appliances. We recently tried to fix washing machine. After $50.00 in to fix, we needed another $200 Plus and decided to buy a new one for $476. HATE that old one just went in a landfill but is what it is.
    Supplements. Be very careful. We had a neighbor making them in his garage. I don't think I need to say, was not legit or sanitary.

    For appliance parts, it was not stated where the owner was trying to purchase the dishwasher racks. There are online replacement parts outlets which are much cheaper than going through the manufacturer or the outlet (big box stores) from which the appliance was purchased. One can find RUclips videos that outline how to fix almost any issue. I have fixed my refrigerator, washing machine, dehumidifier, vacuum cleaner, and wood chipper. It has saved me thousands over the years.

    And people were always friendly and And people always friendly and knowledgeable this is in spring hill Florida. Years they went to underground the underground lines were cut and they went to supplying us through a tank system It seems also that the regional offices were out sourced to a foreign country and we have had nothing but trouble getting our tank filled and maintained. I looked at it up online and I found out so many people are having problems with them that they have tried to cancel their service. When you do they delay Or they say it's an emergency deliver gas or it's a special fee to remove the tanks. Have you heard anything about amerigas?

    I do budget billing for my natural gas. If I owe money at the end I am happy because I effectively got a 0% loan for from April to December. I know how much my bills are so I take the money they are not charging me and put it into a high yield savings account getting 4-5%, pay the zero interest loan the utility company gave me and pocket the difference.

    • @Savannah-ed4rv
      @Savannah-ed4rv 3 месяца назад

      That's a great plan! My natural gas company never gave me a large bill at the end I guess because they estimated it properly, however my electric company did! Needless to say I didn't do the budget billing with my electric company ever again😂

    The bit about negotiating appliance prices was helpful but could have been fleshed out better. Are we just talking about buying from Bob's Hometown Appliance? Or is it also true for Best Buy and The Home Depot? And what about Costco? Something tells me I'm not negotiating a better deal from Costco but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the article Clark referenced provided that information, but I'm not reading the article, I'm watching Clark.

      My experience has been independent local appliance stores may negotiate prices. But most of the "big box" chains will not, with the possible exception being if you bring proof that another local seller has the exact same model number priced less. Then they may price-match.

    • @Clark
      @Clark  3 месяца назад +2

      Not always, but often there is wiggle room in appliance prices at both local appliance sellers and big-box stores like Best Buy and The Home Depot. As with anything, it may depend on which sales associate you get and their level of authority. You can always ask for a manager. If the sales associate or manager is unable to lower the price, he or she may offer complimentary delivery and installation or free haul away, which is a tremendous savings. Hope this is more helpful! 💚

    Great show as always ! We’ve bought 2 refrigerators from Sears Surplus . First one didn’t last long but the 2nd stainless fridge we’ve had for a few years now. Big discount for a tiny scratch that you can’t really even notice . I don’t think Sears Surplus is open now . Influencers peddling supplements are everywhere! One of my vitamins is USP accredited, My collagen/multi vitamin powder states 3rd party tested but doesn’t say by whom . Also states heavy metal tested . I also take a liquid vitamin sometimes but it has no accreditation by any organization. I need to check out missing money!! I’ve been apprehensive about giving out my info.

    Sourcing for vitamins is critical, because cheaper brands use synthetic ingredients. Always check the label for "plant or animal sourcing". Otherwise, it may have no benefit whatsoever.

    Not only are the repair rates significantly higher on the prestige appliance brands (Thermador, SubZero, Viking...) but good luck finding an authorized repair person and parts. My neighbor had to dump a 8 year old fridge that cost more than a used car because they couldn't get the parts or repair person. If you buy an induction range which I highly endorse get the extended warranty and be sure to buy everything with a credit card that offers extended warranty protection as well.

      You already know we have differing opinions about extended warranties, especially for appliances - don't do it. Otherwise, great tips! 💚

      @@Clark I got real lucky when our 14 month old induction range that cost $3,000 went on the fritz. Amex covered the initial $800 repair and then GE covered the remaining $1,400 repair as a courtesy. Then I bought a 5 year warranty for $300. I'm not tempting fate 😉

    Have a ten year old dishwasher that with only two of us in our home only gets run once a week. Started receiving fault codes & early shut downs. Going by several U tube troubleshooting vidios they say to change the $240 touch button board and possibly the $225 control board. I have a bad back & knees and can no longer replace the dishwasher like I did for our first four dishwashers. Big box store wants almost $400 to deliver new dishwasher, hall away the old one and install the new one. Only takes a hour to pull out the old machine and install a new dishwasher.
