      Yup DOG UGLY.....to many different idea all happening on that one body. It's Pontiac Aztec of it's generation. A car that if it actually had any decent attributes at all you take advantage of them by only driving after dark while being absolutely sure to hide away in the garage out or out behind a barn where it can be seen during the day light hours........YUP......it is THAT UGLY!! Sorry. On the brighter side? By the late 1960s the Dart was easy to argue as one of the very best looking small cars out there. Who wouldn't want a 340 Dart GT? That's a GREAT LOOKING car.

    • @ItsDaJax
      @ItsDaJax Месяц назад +3

      @@filipzatka8212By original technical definition; yeah it does. An intermediate sized car, or pony car with a v8 over five liters.

    • @bikingD
      @bikingD Месяц назад +3

      @@ItsDaJax Pure definition of muscle car is put the largest possible motor into a rwd, mid to large sized regular bodied car. Like a Malibu becoming a Chevelle SS. Like a LeMans becoming a GTO. A Fairlane becoming a Torino Cobra Jet. Etc. then Pony cars. Compact car with long hood short deck that are sporty coupes. Like a Nova becoming a Camaro or a Falcon or later a Pinto or even later a Fairmont becoming a Mustang. Then there are a lot of these cars. Front wheel drive Turbo cars with 4 cyls. Now they call them Sport compacts. Back when these were made were called. Hot Hatches, Econoboxes, Pocket rockets. But a 4 cyl fwd, compact , Turbo car has never been nor never will be a muscle car. So please check your definition of muscle car. Plus who said anything about a V8? A rwd GNX with a mid size coupe body from a Regal is a muscle car. By the way love 80's Turbo Dodges and even had a Shadow ES back in the day in the early 90's but never will be a muscle car.

    • @ItsDaJax
      @ItsDaJax Месяц назад +1

      @@bikingD Dude... you don't know what you're talking about. First off, I said the ORIGINAL definition. Secondly; intermediate cars are not "large"[full size] cars intermediate means mid-size, the middle. A Charger is a mid size car, with a 440 or 426 is a muscle car, with a 318 or 225 it is not. A Chrysler New Yorker or Imperial are full size cars, they're too big to be muscle cars. By today's standards; A Taurus is a full size car, the Fusion is a midsized car, the Focus is a compact, and a Fiests a sub compact. The term compact car didn't even exist until the fuel crisis, when cars like the Maverick, Pacer, Vega came to be, to compete with foreign cars, who's base engines were 4bangers, while inline sixes were the base engines for everything else not a full size car. Muscle cars are mid sized cars that use engines from full sized cars. Pony cars became muscle cars when they put bigger engines in them. A 429 Mustang is a muscle car, a 289 is a pony car, and it doesn't even make 300 gross hp.
      Pony cars are not compact cars. Compact cars were the Maverick/Comet, Monza and Vega, or Pinto that are smaller than pony cars, and typically did not have v8s, if they did, it was the smallest pony car v8s. A Maverick and Vega are smaller than the Mustang and Camaro, and were sold as compact cars.
      A Fairlane and Torino are not the same car or on the same platform. A Fairlane is a full size car, like the Galaxy. The Torino are intermediate cars. Novas are not Camaros, they are based off the Chevy II. Falcons are not Pintos, Pintos use a double wishbone front suspension. The Mustang/Cougar, Comet/Maverick are on the Falcon platform. The Malibu is not a Chevelle SS, although they're effectively the same car as a Chevelle, same with the LeMans. The GTO was based on the LeMans(it was based on the Tempest first), it has its own VIN.
      By modern standards, a GNX would be a muscle car, by the original standard, which is mostly held by the Muscle Car Club of America; it is not, it's not a V8, it's engine is less than five(5) liters[being a 3.8], and it makes less than 300hp. The Sy/Ty makes more hp, honestly. And going by your jaded definition of "largest possible motor", it's not even close to the largest possible motor you can put in a G body, it's a v6, and not even the biggest v6, turbo or not.
      Again... I'm talking about the ORIGINAL DEFINITION, not the modern lasse faire definition that car people use, because they're so lackadaisy with everything. Also I see the irony of calling the GNX a muscle car, and not any of the turbo dodges. The GNX and Omni GLHS were two of the fastest cars of their time. That Omni would give a 350 Camaro a run for its money. The Mustang Cobra of 79-80 made 139hp to the GTs 140.

    • @bikingD
      @bikingD Месяц назад

      @@ItsDaJax Really last time I checked a Camaro was based on a Nova. Heck a 3rd Gen F body is pretty much a Monza platform revised. A Mustang a Falcon, then Pinto then Fairmont as the Foxbody. Barricuda a Valiant. So McFly learn what a compact is!!! So yes Ponycars were small sporty cars based on compacts. As for full size. Last time I checked early muscle cars such as 55 to 57 300. 60's Impala SS. Heck 94 to 96 Impala SS. Early 60"s Fury and Polaras. So before you spout off get your facts and learn your muscle car history.

Just as the video is recording an interior that has plaid seat fabric; even plaid fabric door panel inserts. Nicely intergrated console for that era. I used to own a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T with a 440 4 speed with a Dana equipped rear end. I also used to own a 1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z. I hopped both of them up a bit but they were in a category of there own. Yes they could both put rubber down but my Daytona ripped the mounting brackets rite out of the uni-body. My 68 would just twist the whole car, but what a lot of people don,t understand. You need an equal balance of torque & horsepower. My 68 was heavy so I needed torque to get off the line. My 89 had what they called turbo lag & it was front wheel drive.Traditional muscle cars are rear wheel drive ! 🤔

    Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth always had to take design risks as the smallest of the Detroit 3. And also their bean counters advised them to cut corners in manufacturing in order to make Wall Street happy. This resulted in a company that always lagged Ford and GM in reliability and build quality (who had their own problems when competing along those lines with the Japanese) Sometimes their design risks paid off like the LH models in the 1990s and the 1993 Dodge Ram but many times their cars looked awkward and ugly.

      Dodge was actually a higher class car than Ford and Chevrolet...Plymouth competed against Ford/Chevy..Dodge was Mercury,Pontiac,Buick and Oldsmobile!
      If you couldnt afford a Ford you bought a import,thats how imports became popular in the 70's and 80's they were half price of the lowest priced Dodge!
