This goes to show these ladies simply well aware to whats goin on to the society they're IN...no wonder how quick they composed their thoughts and answer those questions as sensible as they could pronto!!! None of the word "dumb" could slit in as these ladies are all smart ass...especially the last one...bravo America ;)
Ikr! I'd have to have an entire list of sample questions and study for weeks to prepare for a 20 sec spur of the moment answer. Next to talent and interview, this category is do or die
theworldaccordingtovivian she was fed the information through a teleprompter. You can see her turning her head to read. Come on you people are so damn gullible
I saw Betty on Say Yes To The Dress and her family is so lovely and supportive of her. She is highly intelligent and has a magical aura. She looked absolutely stunning in the dress she chose, and I'm glad she's come so far.
It was a dumb question, but it had all the information she needed to formulate a semi-educated response (something more than "I'd have to be there to personally test the ball before I pass any judgment but I'm going to pass judgment anyway since apparently there's question about it".) Blows my mind that she won.
I don't even know why these pageants are talked so bad about nowadays. And how they are seen as sexist and demeaning.I actually enjoy watching them. And would love to be in one, as I am a teenage female.Yeah, so the questions and answers are sometimes weird awkward, but it is a part of this historic pageant.I love them!!!
The way Alabama answered really irritates me because saying that "all lives matter" yes they do but the problem has the black community. Saying that "all lives matters" is like telling the black community to shut up about their problems. "Black lives matter" was created because of the police brutality towards them. It was made to Bring awareness towards the problem. They are not a hate group. Please no hate this is my opinion after all
Totally agree, what a lot of people fail to realize is that "black lives matter" was created to say "all lives matter" so don't disregard the black community's discrimination. The context of black lives matter is to say that all lives matter even the black communities. Hope that made sense
I'm sorry...Ellen DeGeneres on an American bill...?? i love her, but she has had no role in the shaping of the American government. Hardly a worthy candidate for the face of a Federal Reserve Note.
ILove Mississippi, she should try out for Miss Usa, she is gorgeous and smart and I would really love to see her in action during a year as a reigning Miss Usa.
All lives matter but considering the recent violence towards African Americans it is important that the fact that Black Lives Matter is illuminated and spread throughout this wonderful but sometimes cruel world. That is what I would say if I was competing in the pageant and I was asked that question. How about you?
exactly wat i was thinking. all lives matter but given th current circumstances the focal point is black lives mattering. taking on one problem at a time is th most effective way to get results, just like if a crisis arose threatening white lives, or Asian lives or native american lives. they would and should all get their own section of focus.
I agree with Miss South Carolina. A ban on military style weapons isn't the answer, however education (and to add on to her answer) stricter gun control laws is. A lot of people in this country have no business owning a gun and there should be strict background checks for buying guns in not just your regular gun shops but also in gun shows because that's where people associated with gun violence most likely buy their guns. That and the black market, but that's a whole other topic. Despite the fact that she stuttered on her answer she spoke quite well.
these are actually mostly pretty intelligent answers. The football one was a mess (but it was difficult), and Ellen really shouldn't be on any bill, but the other answers were very decent oof update someone said all lives matter
I think Malala deserves her face on a bill. even though she isn't American I feel that she influences the world and America is apart of the world so she gets my vote. For some dude to say you can't go to school and then she says f' you and then gets shot in the face for going and then still says f' you I mean come on. Doesn't get more raw than that
When Malala becomes a US citizen? Maybe. For now? Nah. Why would I want another foreign national on a US dollar bill when there are many amazing American women who deserve that honor? And we’re still a country with rules and regulations, not confederation of the world. 🙄
Miss South Carolinas answer was on point and I completely agree. You can tell how much that pissed off the liberal anti gun chick because she was expecting some convoluted answer than would further her ultra liberal anti gun agenda, and instead received a well thought out and intelligently delivered answer. Bravo Miss South Carolina!
Kim Davis was upholding her state's law that was in effect when she took office. It's tiring when idiots say she wasn't doing her job that she was elected to do.
That question definitely was supposed to be a trick question to screw someone over because it's one of those questions where you would've had to be there to form the best response. Still she could've answered better than that.
They can be given more time, the Qs are tough, not something a person thinks of every single day! intelligence is not about answering the fastest, but answering the best be it after a few seconds of thinking❤❤anyways they're great!
I feel so optimistic in American future listening to these questions and answers. Vivid portrait of America's young population slipping into abyss of degeneracy.
Colorado - 7,860 ( and i would like see Mariah Carey haha) South Carolina - 7,935 Tennessee - 7,946 Alabama - 8,543 Georgia - 7,875 Virginia - 8,066 Louisiana - 7,923
Miss Alabama is having a blonde moment if she thinks Bush or Christie would be a good president. Glan she isn't a republican, because if she was I would be terrified of that.
+ttht1234 ... well, in all the years of the Miss America pageant we have only had one from New England (where I live) ... Miss Connecticut ... many, many, many years ago so the Southern girls apparently know something about pageants that many girls in other regions are missing. But ... it's just a pageant.
Okay, I think Miss South Carolina is gorgeous and I agree with her position, but I think her solution is totally ridiculous. Most gun violence involves homicides, not manslaughter. It’s not like the people who are violent with guns simply haven’t learned how to use them!
Being that freaking hot (i.e., as hot as Caitlin Upton) means never having to say you're sorry. Hell, the fact she can speak at all is just icing on the cake.
Why should these women be trying to influence my political choice? This is a beauty pageant, not a political debate! Judges are completely out of line with these questions !!
+Mightyjoe1 Not sure where your information is coming from because every contestant at Miss America for the past several years has either had or was working towards a college degree.
+Anna Kelly Maybe they should be working a little harder on the college degree then because the majority of these answers were absolutely inane and idiotic.
Anna Kelly Is better for you and any other young ladies to start working on your college degree. Your beauty is going to take you so far. That your going to look for a guy to marry and have some kids.
These stress me out I wouldn't be able to answer so quickly
Same here
This goes to show these ladies simply well aware to whats goin on to the society they're IN...no wonder how quick they composed their thoughts and answer those questions as sensible as they could pronto!!!
None of the word "dumb" could slit in as these ladies are all smart ass...especially the last one...bravo America ;)
Im not going to lie. I didn't get the football question either...i knew nothing about it
kawaiisrs07 yea
jesus christ wtf was that
@@rahmaaltaf7666 ?
She did well asking him to repeat to give herself a moment to think
You need to read a newspaper some time sweetie.
that football question is dumb????
how is she supposed to know if he actually cheated, how is anyboyd but him supposed to know if he cheated
I think the question was more about integrity, not actually about if he cheated.
This part of pageants would literally DESTROY me. I'd die lol
Ikr! I'd have to have an entire list of sample questions and study for weeks to prepare for a 20 sec spur of the moment answer. Next to talent and interview, this category is do or die
OMG Tennessee was it? She did an amazing job on the Planned Parenthood question, I would not even have known the information she did.
theworldaccordingtovivian she was fed the information through a teleprompter. You can see her turning her head to read. Come on you people are so damn gullible
@@BoatPatrol I bet you tell 2 year olds there is no Santa Claus lol. Tool.
I was really surprised with Ms. South Carolina's answer... it was amazing!
Miss Tennessee did well. she stuttered a little bit but her answer contained content!
I stand by Miss Tennessee's answer 100%. Couldn't have said it better myself!
Zendaya for a 19 looked so mature and sophisticated as a judge.. love her
I saw Betty on Say Yes To The Dress and her family is so lovely and supportive of her. She is highly intelligent and has a magical aura. She looked absolutely stunning in the dress she chose, and I'm glad she's come so far.
Ellen Degeneres is am amazing woman but really?
Charms Ellen is amazing
She also only had like 3 seconds to think. Most people wouldn't think of one person
I know right? I would’ve said Harriet Tubman
You have to be deceased to appear on U.S. currency.
@@ejp3292000 doubt she even knows who Harriet tubman is
I like Vanessa Williams, she has an amazing aura! She seems to be a tough judge at first but later on I see kindness in her eyes.
Miss United States went to my school today and I got an autograph from her!!!!!
that tom brady question was a stupid question to begin with. WTF? how is she supposed to know shit. He asking her to solve a case or something.
It was a dumb question, but it had all the information she needed to formulate a semi-educated response (something more than "I'd have to be there to personally test the ball before I pass any judgment but I'm going to pass judgment anyway since apparently there's question about it".)
Blows my mind that she won.
They need to have these more often. Legitimate answers needed for politics.
Then go for it! Any woman can be a Miss America!
The way Alabama answered really irritates me because saying that "all lives matter" yes they do but the problem has the black community. ***Louisiana***** sorry bout that I meant "Miss Louisiana"******
+Nataly Garza You're right. People who say 'all lives matter' are probably supporters of Donald Trump, who is of course, racist. ahem.
completely agree with you
Totally agree, what a lot of people fail to realize is that "black lives matter" was created to say "all lives matter" so don't disregard the black community's discrimination. The context of black lives matter is to say that all lives matter even the black communities. Hope that made sense
Hear hear!
I'm sorry...Ellen DeGeneres on an American bill...?? i love her, but she has had no role in the shaping of the American government. Hardly a worthy candidate for the face of a Federal Reserve Note.
It's a very far out answer, but at least she provided good reasoning behind it. That's more important than what the answer is.
ILove Mississippi, she should try out for Miss Usa, she is gorgeous and smart and I would really love to see her in action during a year as a reigning Miss Usa.
Miss America is the real and the true Pageant contest.
Miss Louisiana’s answer was the best she should have won. Very applicable now as well.
All lives matter but considering the recent violence towards African Americans it is important that the fact that Black Lives Matter is illuminated and spread throughout this wonderful but sometimes cruel world. That is what I would say if I was competing in the pageant and I was asked that question. How about you?

The on stage questions are the hardest part of any pageant. It is really hard to think that quickly on your feet.
Miss Louisiana NAILED it!!! Great answer!
these are actually mostly pretty intelligent answers. The football one was a mess (but it was difficult), and Ellen really shouldn't be on any bill, but the other answers were very decent

When Malala becomes a US citizen? Maybe. For now? Nah.
Why would I want another foreign national on a US dollar bill when there are many amazing American women who deserve that honor?
And we’re still a country with rules and regulations, not confederation of the world. 🙄
Go Miss Alabama!!!
if there's a question he definitely did it
These questions and answers are more better then Miss USA and Miss Universe
agree so agree
nah
Nope, the Miss USA questions are tough as well
Miss USA / Miss Universe are way better than these clown questions of Miss America
Teaching people how to use guns is going to lower gun-related crime? Really?
I found every question so tricky i think i will faint in the stage
😂
Looking back now and hearing the questions and answers. Definitely Miss Mississippi should have won.
Yup. Agree
Kim Davis was upholding her state's law that was in effect when she took office. It's tiring when idiots say she wasn't doing her job that she was elected to do.
+bigrebnc1861 lol that's the stupidest reasoning i've ever heard. laws change and we have to adapt to them.
How did Miss Georgia win? Over a question about football?
And her answer was horrible
+Haven G. To be fair, unless you really know about the scandal and follow sports, you'd have no way of intelligently answering that question
No. Her answer was something anyone who lives under a rock could say. No remarkable, or any remoltely significant, intelligence.
remotely*
That question definitely was supposed to be a trick question to screw someone over because it's one of those questions where you would've had to be there to form the best response. Still she could've answered better than that.
Wow they all very good and fast with their question and answer. Great work ladies
Miss GA was smart in asking him to repeat to give herself a moment to think
BETTY!!! Noooo... "the hills have eyes"
I think Mississippi and Alabama did great in this round.
south carolina best answer by far ... u go girl!!!

Planned Parenthood doesn't do Mamograms.
omg i didnt realize that was Zendaya!
hanjas answer made me get chills
lolz
hahah ito tlga gusto ko sa part ng Miss America, entertaining ang Q and A nila unlike Miss USA/Miss Universe masyadong seryoso and boring.
I feel like the questions should be earlier in the contest because before this it’s mostly based on appearance but ya know whatever this is America
"all lives matter".... ouch
Miss Georgia has beautiful smile and face.
i cant believe i just wasted my time watching this... and then commented. i must be bored.
I've always wondered if you had to be born in the state you're representing or just a resident for a period of time.
Colorado - 7,860 ( and i would like see Mariah Carey haha)
South Carolina - 7,935
Tennessee - 7,946
Alabama - 8,543
Georgia - 7,875
Virginia - 8,066
Louisiana - 7,923
What a dirty shame that Bert Parks never got to sing “There She Is, Miss America” to a fellow Georgian. (He was born in Atlanta.)
Howdy! Do you have the intro? I loved those little state facts they all gave.
Miss Alabama is having a blonde moment if she thinks Bush or Christie would be a good president. Glan she isn't a republican, because if she was I would be terrified of that.
Ok but Zendaya is prettier than at least half of them??????
Ellen DeGeneres??? Really?? That was such a simple question and you went with Ellen??
Only dead people are on US money.
After seeing the epic fail that we all know about from 2007, these all seem great
I wonder how the judges score these contestants.
They are worse than Miss USA answers, who are beautiful, at least. I mean, this is a beauty pageant.
I believe South Carolina did pretty well. She understands that we need to get to at least one of the roots of the problem.
***** I do too but for the amount of time she did have she used logic to support her answer.
+Trina Jackson I think they all would have
Miss America is a Scholarship pageant while Miss USA is a Beauty Pageant.
Pickleboy should have been Miss South Carolina.
Correct answer to football: “I need to ask Gisele Bundchen if Tom Brady’s ball was deflated and get back to you.”
Ok RUclips, i know you're a little weird but why do you think this is something i would like to watch?
Miss Mississippi was the only girl out of the seven contestants who actually nailed the question.
She absolutely nailed that question. Strong opinion, kept it under 20 sec, and she didn't stutter at all. Perfect!
Is there a reason why most of the southern states made it this far or
+ttht1234 ... well, in all the years of the Miss America pageant we have only had one from New England (where I live) ... Miss Connecticut ... many, many, many years ago so the Southern girls apparently know something about pageants that many girls in other regions are missing. But ... it's just a pageant.
Timothy Spruill pageants are a huge thing here in the south, so they’re probably more prepared for this than northern contestants are
The Ellen chocie hits different
If I was one of last 4 girls I would be freaking out
How tf are your supposed to answer the Tom Brady question if you didn’t already know about that controversy? Tf???
How did betty win? 😂
Brooke Caldwell easily she had the top score .
5:20 Cantrell didn't understand on what Brett Eldredge said
*WE DO NOT DO MAMOGRAMS* -PP
Okay, I think Miss South Carolina is gorgeous and I agree with her position, but I think her solution is totally ridiculous. Most gun violence involves homicides, not manslaughter. It’s not like the people who are violent with guns simply haven’t learned how to use them!
0:01 reminds me of Miss Universe 2018 Stage!
Let them answer the question right and none of them didn’t even know what to say
These answer are better than Miss Usa
lols the answers are the worst and the questions are too stupid. try to compare the Miss USA 2016 Q and A it has more sense
Being that freaking hot (i.e., as hot as Caitlin Upton) means never having to say you're sorry. Hell, the fact she can speak at all is just icing on the cake.
what is missing in this is the oral presintations ;)
Wwoowww Miss america
Why should these women be trying to influence my political choice? This is a beauty pageant, not a political debate! Judges are completely out of line with these questions !!
just to gain attention in America, pageants in the US are dying
5:42 Was Miss Georgia on drugs?
dude theyre giving you 20 seconds to answer infront of a crowd theres a nerve wracking going on
brooke looks so over this show here
It is like a quiz
Most of this ladies aren't fully educated and just showing their beauty and slim bodies.
The lady in the gold dress got jipped cuz she was the only one smiling before they started calling names.
They're fast😊
Not gonna lie the football one was stupid
most southern girls😍
Also the last girl didnt reeeeeallly answer the question.
*world... peace*
Miss Georgia's answer made no sense at all. Did anyone watch it on the Jimmy Fallon show? It was hilarious..
Dang, all southern states
Colorado isn't a southern states...They are western states
i would put EVA BRAUN bc i cant finde a better one
oh my god, that was a good fucking answer. first one
SEC! SEC! SEC! Oh wait....
Miss tenessee has a good answer but i don't think she's prettier than the others
does any 1 know the song that started at the end of the video?
+tacos4u632 You know you like it- DJ snake and Aluna George
1:14 Harriet Tubman
This didn't age well did it!
what? that football question was dumb af
oh god, many are terrible answers except for the last few.
