Well... Hmm... Maybe.
There's a bit of an inverse between the two series.
While SG1 was best in its earlier seasons, TNG was best in its later seasons.
SG1 didn't have all that interesting villains. Most of the interesting stuff was between the main cast, while characters like Apophis were very cliché mustache twirling villains, complete with evil laugh.
TNG, and Star Trek in general, typically have more nuanced villains, and often not even villains at all.
Apothis can bite my hairy bum.

@@TheTattorack SG-1 is a fun adventure. TNG is a highly-engaging philosophy play. They are both very well-written for Sci-Fi TV shows...and they both scratch a different itch. You eat popcorn while you watch SG-1. You drink wine will watching TNG. Some days I want popcorn. Some days I want wine.
