    Awesome vids, man! I'm moving to the island in a few weeks and found your channel from the Hawaii kayak fishing FB group. Good job, super hi-quality editing and footage. A pleasure to watch!

    You've inspired me to get back into kayak fishing. I fish all over California. Ocean and freshwater. Any recommendations for good kayaks. Anyone...

    Im' curious....Do the sharks ever mistake your kayak as a fish on the surface?

    • @FlyingFish_TV
      @FlyingFish_TV  6 лет назад

      I have had sharks come check me out from 20 feet away or so. More often I think they are just swimming by on the surface and I happen to notice them. While bringing a fish in they will chase it all the way to the kayak.

    The water looks pretty calm. Was this recent? It has looked super rough the last two weekends when looking out from shore.

      This was last week sometime. The wind was probably less than 15 knots. My work schedule mostly allows for mid week trips.

      That’s always nice to go out when the water isn’t crowded. It almost feels special to be off when everyone else works.

    What you use for bait to catch your opelu on the sabiki rig? Just moved here so I’m trying to get the scoop on how it’s done. Nice fish.

      I use a size 4 gold limerick hook with a small red bead. The grub is up to you however, I prefer to use completely hooked lures minnows in the nox color.

      @FlyingFish_TV  6 лет назад +1

      If you randomly end up fishing the same place on the same day, yes. Aside from that I can't let everyone come along.
