    Since 2010 ITV's Downton Abbey has delighted the nation with its upstairs, downstairs stories of love, loss and family. As masters and servants carry on while the country prepares for the First World War the grand country house sees its fair share of family conflagrations while below stairs the staff have their own troubles.
    Hugh Bonneville and Elizabeth McGovern lead the cast which includes Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, Phyllis Logan, Sophie McShera, Maggie Smith, Penelope Wilton and Rob James-Collier.

    This program Downton Abby would have not been the hit it has become, without Michelle Dockery. Especially in America. She adds something hard to explain, but whatever that is she has it. I cant take my eyes off of her.

      ***** I also think people longing for manners class, and super structure in their lives. After all most Americans used to be this way too. To a certain degree.

      +Ronnie Bishop Amen! I miss people speaking properly and being respectful towards one another. Reality TV is ruining our society,..Downton was an escape from that.

    Distinction. Her beautiful speech. exquisite, face and figure ,grace . Complex personality ,interpretation perfect by a dialogue written by a master of social human behaviour . SO VERY ENGLISH. In reality her sussex accent does not have the same allure. As Lady Mary . But love her . So sorry by her Private life. Loss and pain.

    First we'll see Emma Thompson achieve the MIRREN - SMITH - DENCH level of celebrated and honored reputation. This woman will get there, too; in another 25 years the media - and the Crown - will be showering Michelle Dockery with honors. There've been moments in DOWNTON, when the loss of Sybil exacerbates the intensity of emotion between Edith and Mary, that I, personally, am staggered with the OMG pain and regret and hope of " family " . Tom - Edith - Mary as they stand in the room, Sybil lying dead, and Edith so tremulously and truly begs, " Oh, Mary ... can't we be better and more tender to each other ? " ........words to that effect, I am no accurate scribe here.....and Mary, with real painful pragmatism and realization, looks at her and says, ( these are the words; I cannot forget'em ), says, " Probably not. " Even now, I am aghast with the awful honesty and accuracy of how humans will treat each other...then Mary says, to both of them, " This is the last time we three will be together as sisters, so let us love each other as sisters. " And I see Edith's pained yet grateful reaction to this small, tender and loving moment from the big sister and I am lost. Michelle Dockery, OBE .... it'll happen and it should happen.

    British number one words;
    Possibly
    Quite
    Kinda
    Bloody
    Really
    Actually
    The letter "R" is replaced with "ah"
    Example:
    "actah"
    "Lettah"
    They speak more like they are talking with a mouthful of something rather disgusting but refuses to spit it out so some of British accents, typically the most common I hear on television, accents resembles holding food in your mouth or talking like something is stuck in it. Open your mouth and try not to close it while saying 'uh'

      Kinda is not a word " Kind of" or " Kindly"
