"AU LAIT" (Lyle Mays / Pat Metheny) for Solo Piano by Uwe Karcher

This is my 3rd project of transferring an orchestral Lyle Mays composition into solo piano music (after "Close To Home" and "August"). Pat Metheny is credited as composer, too. But Pat mentioned that his contribution was so small that he decided not to take the tune in his Songbook. You can find the original tune on the PMG CD "Offramp" (1982). "Au Lait" contains 2 parts: Part I is somehow mystic sounding with permanently changing meters; Part II is more lyrical and provides two gorgeous solos by Pat & Lyle, which I'm playing both. There is also a theme in Part II, which is played in a loop behind the solos. So great!
This is the first composition by Lyle I played after his passing, and I would like to dedicate the arrangement to him and his memory. Thanks, Lyle - for all your music 🙏🏻🎹.
