Hey Lulu I really love your channel, it gives me good zambian vibes and being away from home it's good to see Zambian content that showcases our traditional dishes
I just discovered this channel!Excited! Subscribed before even watching...I was actually looking for a recipe to zhoosh up fresh kapenta. Thanks ladies
You are doing a good job. Just saw the link on WhatsApps from my sister inlaw and I just followed it and guess what! I'm now a follower. Even on Instagram so that I don't miss anything. I enjoy cooking and knowing different types of cooking for me is an inspiration for me. I miss Zambian food 🍱.
Great show ladies. Love the cooking tutorials for Zambian traditional food. Just one request, can you please include information, maybe as text on the screen as you add ingredients or in the description below on the quantities of kapenta and other ingredients used as well as cooking times in between adding/mixing ingredients?
Really? That is so wonderful to hear. We have a whole series on authentic Zambian food, so you have a number of videos to go through and try, the link is below: 👇 ruclips.net/p/PLCnucHw1ulKNKGDskJr6oTTvtOgHoI19o P.S. Tell us what his responses are to the recipes✨
The chef is very calm and shy. She must be noisy about her amazing cooking skills. She is not in control here. She is the boss in this video. She needs to do most of the talking not being led. The tomato is buried under under the kapenta to allow tomato flavour soak into the fish and maintain moisture. Wow!!! the wooden dishes are soooo natural, Afrikan, unique and amazing.
Yes Lulu, anchovies should be the term. I love kapenta and I love the kapenta by you two ladies. Will start including garlic in my kapenta too. I think the little well is to soften the tomatoes quickly so that they 'stew' on their own but with the kapenta on the sides. Then everything is folded together towards the end. This enables the kapenta to be juicy but not soggy, while maintaining some crispness. Some enjoy it that way.

11:31 - are flies a prevalent problem in Zambia?
This is like Kapenta reinvented
You could call it that 😄
Where do you buy those tuma wooden plates if you call them plates?
I bought the beautiful bowls from Efie Studios. Here's the link to their FB page 👇:

Lulu should speak more Bemba love to hear it

17:04 - oh ohhh. Too finicky for a fella like me. Slows down the process
Putting the tomatoes in the middle and covering it softens the tomatoes
Ahhhh, yes. Thank you
Hot kapenta on top of tomatoes will help cook tomatoes faster😂
