I'm in Vancouver, Canada. Managed a few rides, nothing too far yet. But absolutely love this bike. Looking forward to Spring, and some longer rides where I can open it up!
pranjal singh Definitely. I’m finding it a good all round bike. Great commuter in Street mode, and awesome for longer distances in Sport! I would have no problem at all doing a couple of hundred miles in a day.
I’ve had mine for 5000k just put a Remus exhaust for the extra rumble, I get complementary comments on the tone. I love the bike and don’t regret buying this at all. I bought it over the 1290r. It’s a whip.
I saw some channel review (USA BASED)and the indicators on them were big and not LED and also rear view mirrors were oddly shaped too. This one looks awesome
I'd say it's a little down on power, in a straight line with good traction it wouldn't keep up. On the right twisty roads it'd leave the 09, not just because of the electronics, it just is more composed in a corner 👍
I have one-a 2020 and it is really great. I really enjoy driving it. I agree with much of what you said. I have not tried the launch thingy. Maybe if it gets warm again soon-but I like to just hit the throttle off the line. Well, thanks.
Is it just me or does the launch control sound like it's really hard on the clutch? I feel like I can deliver power quicker using the clutch manually and put less strain on it.
I'm guessing its not the best for the clutch, it's probably why you can only do 3 in a row, then you get a kind of 'cool down' period. You did manage to get the power down better than the electronics, I'd say Fairplay but I guarantee that the bike will do it more consistently. Plus my money's on the bike if your on the loose stuff👍
It's an amazing bike and can cater to all levels of riders my only complaint to KTM would be a larger petrol tank even an extra 30kms of range would be a benefit.
Finding it difficult to decide. Striple rs or d790. Have owned 1st gen 390 and I had to replace hell lot of parts. New bike always has troubles. Striple is a settled old bike now. Striple rs is costly too but butter smooth unlike d790 which just wants to be ripped. Which to choose. Confused. Financially Duke makes sense but striple is well finished product. Will be a keeper, whichever I choose...
Nice video. So, she thinks the stock pillion seat is plush soft, or it’s the Ergo PowerParts pillion seat installed? I know that the stock seat and pillion seat are quite firm.
My honest answer is I don't know. I picked it up from KTM an I presume everything was stock. It could just be she's comparing it to my bike which is pretty harsh for a pillion.
I've had two 1290 r and I bought this for the upcoming season.. it's at the dealership now to get some decals new exhaust system and mapping and loads of powerpart's . Can't wait for it to arrive..hope I don't get disappointed since I'm used to the beast.. great review 👍
Great bike for sure. I ride a 1290GT and was blown away by how sharp this bike is in the corners. Definatley will be testing again, come spring time. And as highlighted, it's difficult to see why you wou,d need anything more on UK roads. Only downside I found, was the wind blast on the chest at 80, but then an aftermarket small screen may rectify that?
I had a short ride on a 1290GT, what a great bike they are 👌 I find nakeds are fun in the twisties, comfort at high speedis more a job for the gt, the scalpel just begs for you to throw it at corners. Does the GT have the launch control feature?
I’ve got one and bigger capacity bikes too but, it really is ample for British roads, especially B roads. It’s a great bike and soooooo cheap. £6850 pre reg 2019.
What you get for your money is unbelievable. You're right about the power too, there are quite a few roads is be quicker on the ktm than my mt10. Such a cracking bike
Top review mate 👍 I'm saving up for an MT09SP at the mo and kinda discounted getting one of these as I thought it looked a bit small but I think I'll have to test ride one 😉
The mt is a mighty bike, I'd say the mt was more hooligan than the ktm but the 790 is definitely more precise though. After you've taken one out let me know what you're going to go for pal
TBH that wheelie I did across the start/finish made it quite hairy to get around the next corner. i called it quits after that as that's one call I didn't want to have to make 🤣🤣
Bought mine two weeks ago. Everything you say about it is true. Love this thing!
Just in time for the good weather we're having, hows it going a month in?
I'm in Vancouver, Canada. Managed a few rides, nothing too far yet. But absolutely love this bike. Looking forward to Spring, and some longer rides where I can open it up!
Is it good for long rides? Say a 100 or 150 miles in a day? If you've ridden enough by now
pranjal singh Definitely. I’m finding it a good all round bike. Great commuter in Street mode, and awesome for longer distances in Sport! I would have no problem at all doing a couple of hundred miles in a day.
I'm a 71 year old living in NZ. Bought one a few weeks ago and love it to bits. Totally agree with your comments - awesome fun!
I'm buying one next month. I cannot wait after hearing so many good things about it
Great review, I took one for a test today....... was sold after the first few minutes, I have to wait a week for delivery 🤩
I knew it would happen to people. It's instantly so addictive.
Happy new bike 😀👍
Just bought one as 2nd bike to the GS Adventure I own. Turns up Thursday or Friday next week and can’t wait
had my 2020 790 since june love it to bits
Thanks for your review and we especially appreciate the pillions impressions ,so a test ride is imminent . Many thanks

I was hoping to lend the 1290 but they offered this instead. I was a little gutted at first but the bike soon won me over
I saw some channel review (USA BASED)and the indicators on them were big and not LED and also rear view mirrors were oddly shaped too. This one looks awesome
Super awesome review. Loved the enthusiasm. I am sold on this
Thanks pal, it's easy to be enthusiastic about something so awesome
Hi Ant, how does it compare power wise to the MT09 , I know the Yam doesn't have the toys, but it has more power.
I'd say it's a little down on power, in a straight line with good traction it wouldn't keep up.

Great review! N love your enthusiasm friend!

It seams to be a thing with the bikes I love. My mt10 has a bigger tank but has a drinking problem so it's about the same range.
I'm still debating the 790 vs triumph street triple. I'm not sure which to choose
The triumph will make a little more power at the top of the revs, apart from that, for me the ktm stands out in every other way.
Street triple RS is just as good as 790, the final choice is based on individual preferences.
@@arunkottolli the triumph is a fantastic bike. I'd say the KTM beats it hands down in the fun department though.

I've had my eye on KTM's for awhile now. That looks the package. Cheers.
For the price, you won't find a better package. I know I said it a few times already but I was seriously blown away

Hi met you just out side the parking/community centre
Thank you, Deffo getting 1 now (2nd hand) Great review.
Great stuff.
Great video! Great personality!
Why thank you 😀

@@MercerVisualProductions will do's buddy 😉
I want that launch control for every red light, damn.
It was sooooo addictive 👍👍
How this bike compare to mt10 ?
much slower, less mental but more manouvorable
What would be the range on full tank?
I was getting anything between about 120 and 150 depending on how much fun I was having 😂
Great vid, very comprehensive - will there be another installment so we can see if "The Scalpel" can handle the sharp turns of that karting track?
TBH that wheelie I did across the start/finish made it quite hairy to get around the next corner. i called it quits after that as that's one call I didn't want to have to make 🤣🤣
That's a nice looking bike. Maybe even nice enough to convince me to get back on 2 wheels at some point. :)
It'd be the perfect bike for it pal. turn all the assists up to start with and you'll be laughing
John Aldred it’s easy to ride, I can assure you.
I tried one, ended up buying it..=)
I can totally see why 👌
You came over all "Victor Kiam" I see...
You liked it so much, you bought the company!
Nice vid Ant, 👍 think it’s uploaded 20 mins of black screen though 😮😂
I actually edited it out before I pressed publish. RUclips' just dragging its feet 🤣
Blackstone edge road 🏍💨💨
If only i had the money for it😂😂

One of the funniest analogies I've ever heard. 😂😂
