Heavy? Yes, very Realistic? Idk, it makes it seem like these guys are not used to their guns and are conscripts or militia fighters....which could be true but the game also depicts the players as spec ops or elite forces, and they definitely won't handle weapons as slow as in this game. It doesn't even feel like the soldiers are at a range or smth, it really does feel like your character aren't used to the gun. If we speed this up by maybe 1.25x, we'd have a more realistic, Escape from Tarkov like animation. if we put 1.5-1.75 speed, we'd have a MW2019 animation. 2x speed is CoD Black Ops Cold War animation.
Nothing realistic about these guns' sounds and animations. Sound design in this game is over-exaggeration for the impact during gameplay. Animations are nothing like the real thing.
I really wish this game is more popular. It's the perfect balance between arcadey fast-paced shooters like CoD and hardcore military sims like Squad, and the gameplay is both fast and fluid but also brutally unforgiving. And the sound design and voice acting rivals that of AAA shooters.

You can break a reload down to a few key poses, but usually in this order. *Idle - Mag Out - Mag In - Cocking - Idle* Different guns have different procedures but we'll follow this one for now. The issue with this is that the time between each pose is way too long. Timing is important in animation and it also influences the character/mood/behaviour of how it moves. In this instance, because its too slow it looks more like the shooter is in a firing range than an actual combat situation.

Fun fact: the *zip* sound when you grab the weapon from your holster is the same sound effect as in Boneworks when you grab a weapon from your inventory or store it away.
10/10 amazing tempo on all of this, the sounds are very good too, everything just has that metallic yes springy undertone, tactile and satisfying as hell

Well, you can customize colors (friendly/hostile team) in game, so I dunno Also, there's no faction colors, it's changing to hostile or friendly this faction to you (Sry for kinda broken English tho)
if the animations were faster then sandstorm would easily make it to my top games of all time the gameplay is unforgiving, yet rewarding, the gunplay is hefty and the voice acting is amazing. i once streamed the game to a friend and he was blown away with how serious and realistic the voice acting is, still often am myself. no game makes me feel as bad as this one when seeing a teammate die to a incendiary, to the point i give them a mercy kill just to stop the screaming...
Theres something that bothers me with the PM and the Browning HP, the animations are supposed to make it seem like the camera/PMC is checking if the bullets are getting chambered, yet the ejection hole is to the side of it.
I dont get why so many people saying that the reloads are slow. Like, there is a fast reload option and its your fault that you're using the slow reload when underfire
I wouldn't think you'd be hurrying all that much when you are readying weapons at the beginning of the match, before all the combat. That said, the quick reload animations are decently paced, given their motions, while the normal reloads are definitely on the slow side. I happen to prefer these smoother more methodical animations rather than the excessively jittery animations of MW 2019 and similar games, and Sandstorm tends to show the weight of firearms in its animations better than many other games
MyDude They aren’t slow in game, this is just the equip animation. Soldiers reacting to the game have confirmed its realistic in terms of reloading mid-fire fight.
I think a cool concept would be suppressed reloads. If you reload normally it looks like an actual professional is handling the gun, but if you're suppressed he fumbles a little bit with shaky hands taking slightly longer.

I see a lot of people complaining about how slow the animations are. Anyone with military experience care to shed some light with the reload speed in a firefight? I'm not trained or knowledgeable but if I were, I might also take my time to reload rather than fumble after a failed tacti-cool move… just wanna get enlightened I guess.
These all would look way better sped up. Change the playback speed to 1.5x, you'll see what I mean. There's no sense of urgency to any of these. You're supposed to be in combat, not having a leisurely range day.

USSR had AK-47 for just few years, then made an AKM It's lighter and has muzzle brake instead of AK-47 which didn't accept muzzle devices They also have different stocks, rear sights and handguards That's all I know
probably the easiest way to identify is that the AKM has a ribbed dust cover and the AK has a smooth one. but the dust cover can be swapped so a sure way to identify is that the AK has a milled square lightening cutout on the reciever

only reason i got this game, it's cause of the weapon details. I did enjoy little bit of COOP but it gets repetitive to me.

You missed the alternative equip animation for MP7 when it's the A2 variant (with equipped foregrip)
