@WindTheBrave You really think KD and Steph aren't generational talents? Really? KD probably the only tall, lenghty player that can do anything on the offense and steph the greatest shooter of all time.
they just need to keep the guy sub 10%bf, he NEEDS to lose some mass, it won't hurt him in the paint that much, dude's built like a demigod. They have the means to shave off his flab and keep the godlike strength.
He really don’t. The issue isn’t his weight, it’s his landing mechanics. Dudes a freak of nature, that’s why he can jump so high. If he can produce that amount of force to go up that high with that mass, he has the strength to land PROPERLY. That’s what derailed D Rose’s career at 190 lbs, he had horrible mechanics. Then look at Westbrook. Dude was an iron man until that Pat Bev incident. It’s not nuclear athleticism that’s the issue, it’s all in the way you run, jump, and move in general. The way Rose landed every time was stressing his joints and ligaments when it should have been his muscles doing the work. And Zion has a lot of muscle to work with. Go watch any highlight reel of Fred VanVleet, dude breaks his fall on every layup. What he’s doing is he’s redirecting and dispersing the force elsewhere instead of absorbing it all into his legs. The way Zion lands makes me cringe sometimes, so I’m afraid his career might be plagued by injuries.
brotherdandy that's not really his game. He probably won't ever be fluid enough to pull out Hakeem's moves on a regular basis but he'll definitely get buckets in his own way.
2 videos from J. Kyle Mann in the span of a week. Wow probably the bets thing that’s happened this year. Please upload more my guy! My favorite channel on RUclips rn.
I don’t agree with the Lonzo pairing. Imagine paring him with a guard who can run pick and roll and be a legit threat to pass/score from actions involving either one of them. Lonzo is good passing in transition, and is a good defender. I just think his lack of scoring threat keeps him from being zions perfect running mate. Imagine a prime Conley or a dame lillard with Zion? In terms of youngguards I think funnily enough that ja morant is probably the perfect match for him
Moneybagbandz yeah trust it’s the organisation’s top most priority. They’ll allow Zion to go to Germany for a few quick trips and he’ll come back as a super human
It is so exciting to think that the next generation of players who run the league are zion, ja, luka. Can wait for them to reach their prime. How exciting the nba will be
the fact that no amount of separation is enough to prevent a block and no amount of pressure is enough to stop a dunk, he can't shoot much from behind the arch but has a decent mid range, he can grab boards and go to work, has good footwork, size, strength and his vertical is insane and he seems to be healthy so... pretty much his insane genetics paired up with average nba skill
I don’t agree with everything that you’re saying. However I love your breakdowns and you do have a lot of great points. For Zion I can’t see his body being able to take the NBA load for that long without being riddled with injury
He's gonna have to get down to 250-260 if he wants to play the way he does currently. Otherwise yeah, you're 100% right. I think the injury thing has been talked to death by the sports media and Kyle focused purely on basketball related things.
Dude why is Dime drop not making more videos. He has the best videos on the ringer hands down. Don't be a Carmelo and dim the light of this Jeremy Lin.
So I have a dumb question. If I get league pass, can I watch every team play every game, or just the team I select? I would love to get it if I can watch EVERY game for EVERY team but that almost seems too good to be true. Thanks for the help!
He's still so raw offensively too. He is gonna be trouble for the rest of the league for a while unless he doesn't add to his game (which is very unlikely)
I think the ceiling for Zion is a Giannis type talent and player. His bread and butter is always going to be his drives to the rim and absolutely insane athleticism but it's not inconceivable that he could work the level of playmaking, ball handling, shot creation, craftiness, and occasional 3 point shooting that Giannis has into his game. The biggest concern for me is will his body hold up. 6'6" is just not meant to handle 285 lbs over multiple 82 game seasons of basketball
I think he is good because he has a lot of effort. What he does is not something spetacular surreal, but most people don't do it because they're lazy, check most of centers, they don't try much, not even the good ones. Look at how unathletic Jokic is, he doesn't try much (physically speaking). Jokic is really good, but imagine how good he would be if he took care of his body and put more effort in his game. What Zion does is not something different, but it's beautifull because he puts so much effort on this that it works, just like Antetokounmpo
I still think they need to reduce his weight in the near future or he will have a short career. He is a freak athlete unlike any I think I've seen, but the laws of physics still apply on knees and ankles.
"Thiccarus" 😂
I legit laughed as well that was one hell of a line
a goat nickname
It'll never catch but that should be nickname.
One of the funniest things the ringer has done
Matthew Portman i started choking on my laugh phenomenal
The Ringer is by far my favourite source for ball, shoutout Kevin O'Connor
I miss Dime Drop... J. Kyle Mann's analysis and his voice makes it absolutely easy to listen to. But yes KOC is the fucking man.
Kevin O'Bomber
Kevin O’Conflict
Thinking Basketball is good too
Mike Posner Kevin O “Candyland”
Yo did you really just call this man “thicarus” 😂💀
That’s what I’m calling him from now on
Get kinky
He is what the NBA needs right now
Crazy how someone usually comes at the exact right time
A R I like Zion, but what do you mean? We’ve had some insane talent the last couple years
@@OhShootKid I think it's more about his style of play. We have plenty of long shooters. So a Charles Barkley-esque hulk is a nice change
@WindTheBrave agree with you but Steph is a generational talent that changed the game
@WindTheBrave You really think KD and Steph aren't generational talents? Really? KD probably the only tall, lenghty player that can do anything on the offense and steph the greatest shooter of all time.
@WindTheBrave Oh I see what you mean, I agree but at the same thing I'd add Curry there.
Zach Randolph just like today or yesterday announced he’s joining the big 3
ZYup. After an endorsement deal, they even decided to change the name to the THICC 3. Not sure how it will affect sales. Only time will tell
Thiccworld
Zion the "next zach randolph" Williamson
john appleseed okay 😂
He’s a super explosive Zach Randolph
Does Kyle Mann ever miss? Like seriously this is the best show on RUclips rn, is that just me?
Debatable lol.
Mad talent + huge heart and drive = Zion
Rick Frye mad+huge=robin lopez
Damn if he stays healthy through his career he's going to be one of the best ever.

@@LukyBlakat he is fat. He is, plus, weight aggraVates his landings and makes the bad ones worse.
@@RagingRugbyst Zions not fat. He is big boned.
LifeIsGrey he’s not fat, dude is just built different. Fat is Jokic. Zion is just THICC.
7:38 ... that is a !really! good suggestion
Zach Randolph's playing in the Big3 now btw
zion is larry johnson's & Z-bo's roided up love child
a bit of Sir Charles as well
Great analysis! I love these video. Tell Bill to give you a raise and do more of these.
That Godzilla clip got me
so good!
Big shoutout to the editor for that super old school clip
Yeah lol
THANK U KYLE J MANN
Imaging the damage Zion will do if he learns “The Dream Snake”. I can already see defenders flying into the first row on the ball fake.
brotherdandy that's not really his game. He probably won't ever be fluid enough to pull out Hakeem's moves on a regular basis but he'll definitely get buckets in his own way.

Info 809 you're an idiot
@@CodeineAbdulJabbar he deleted his comment lol
Shake*
the way he skips while running has him always ready to use that vertical in an instant, that's what I believe, and it keeps him shifty

Thiccarus has got to be one of the best puns I've heard in a while.
J. Kyle Mann's vids and the NBA desktop are by far the best things about The Ringer.
J Kyle Mann makes the best basketball videos on the internet! Go argue with your ancestors
For me it's a coin flip with him and ThinkingBasketball. Both are amazing.

Amazing job as always by Kyle Mann, so happy he joined the Ringer!
Great analysis. That was awesome watching him and LeBron both have incredible 4th quarters Sunday night
I just hope he's able to stay healthy. Every time he jumps I worry especially with some of those landings
Moneybagbandz broskie is the chosen one don’t have to worry
@@metroboomin4981 so was D-Rose
Max 117 D-rose wasn’t protected by the higher powers. Zion is what makes the most money for the NBA meaning that he gains immunity to everything

Impressed by the instructive explanation of the video! This guy seems very aware of various aspects of athletics and sports.
I could listen to this voice all day
so glad he's on my team
Absolutely outstanding content. This rocks, thanks Ringer.
I agree, and the beat behind your vid BANGS. Nice.
This video made my lunch so damn good.

Very good analysis, hope Zion becomes the best player in the world soon...
