We sat down with Michael Pope to discuss his new pedal board, why tremolo is the greatest effect of all time and how he finds inspiration through his gear.
I still remember the sound of it in the studio for this vid... all of us in the room just laughed (in a good way) as soon as he played the first chord.
I keep coming back to hear this 34:35.. The 3 amp configuration he's got going on is everything you could ever want. Dry in the middle, wet panned left and right. Chimey voxy tones in the middle handling cleans, rounder more American style handling the lush wet verbs.. Everything's covered. This is an all business board.
Yes! They get everything. But the dry amp only gets drives, no wet. The wet amps also only see drive on the 'decay' of the wet effects... no 'dry' gets to the amps.
@@jamiefischer2059 Yup! All of it. Wet amps get everything on the board. Guitar - Dry effects - Wet effects - Wet amps. Its the dry amp that doesn't get everything (because you want the punchy, transience / clarity in the dry amp (Guitar - dry effects - Dry amp)
Such an awkward interview... lol always interesting to see different takes on tone and how people go about it. His tones are fine, but I approach things completely differently. To each his own. I dig this board and setup though.
The video that caused Reverb to be flooded with Big sky’s and Timelines. Haha
I would say Michael has really influenced my tone. I love how direct and punchy the sound is.

Expressionator! Don't see this on too many other boards, glad someone else digs it!
Wow. I've never thought about using a boost as a volume pedal before. That's actually a genius idea.
Jonathan Holt I’m trying to find where in the video he talks about this...can you give me a time stamp so I can find it?
@@phillipsouthard8285 at around 20:09 he mentions it
Outro was insane!!!
Awesome !! keep going guys !!!
hey! Thanks man. Would love some french inspired accents... come over for a visit. :)
I really love this channel! I've been learning a lot through it! 🤘🏻
Awesome! Thats my goal. really want this to be a place where people can learn more about their rigs / nerd out a bit on what can be done.
Cool to see worship guys getting on the map for innovative use of stomp boxes
yeah, you need a lot of effects to make church palatable to impressionable children and teens.
@@winstonsmith8236 yikes. Eat a snickers.

So freaking sick. Great job guys!
Finally! Could you also do this with Bobby Strand???
Canaan Lawrence or David Hislop, would be great too
@@mateusnovais_ he uploaded one to his own channel
Good job, guys!

Wew lad, if you say so. Still, an amazing sound.
Do you think 🤔 I can get all this sounds on the helix ???
It won't sound exactly the same, but you could replicate a lot of it!
34:35 can't stop listening...
hes good.
Great hat!
I noticed when I turn on some of my drive pedals, you can hear the sound of it being turned on through my amp, what the heck is going on?
possibly old capacitors in your pedals leaking DC voltage into your audio
Are the wet amps getting any drives?
Yes! They get everything. But the dry amp only gets drives, no wet. The wet amps also only see drive on the 'decay' of the wet effects... no 'dry' gets to the amps.
Goodwood Audio thanks for the response! Are the wet amps getting any tremolo, pog, or vibrato?

What tuner does he use? Couldn’t find it in the video.
He uses a Sonic Research Turbo (full size). AWESOME strobe tuner.
Hello, "Lovers in Japan!" 35:30
I’d like to know when he uses those fuzz tones in that genre. Anybody have tracks/times?
Probably for heavy lead lines
What volume pedal is on the board?
Bro that DS1 sounds good tho...
Right?!

Anyone have strong opinions on walrus monument vs Supro Tremolo pedal? I’m torn
Have you considered the Empress Tremolo 2? Way more options and you can store presets
Alex Price just checked it out, it doesn’t have harmonic Trem.
zaqintosh ah I see. I’m not even sure what that is tbh
Alex Price its a phase effect mixed with the amplitude effect. Lookup videos of the walrus monument pedal
What’s that gorgeous red hollow body he’s playing?
I think it's a Veritas 503!

Sean Hebert what kind of music do you play? That would dictate how you approach.

No clue who this guy is, but judging by his rig… church player.
