The immediate response was "Why would I use the diamond back when I can get the same thing by just aiming properly?" That was when I realized that nerfing the ambassador would just lower the skill ceiling for spy, all because bad snipers were getting out-classed.
@@TheLuuman if you have brain cells then spy is the easiest class to play against. the only thing it had going for it was the ambassador/ringer combo. everything spy can do, sniper does better. spy is a pub stomper, but that's feasible with literally every other class as well. spy is bad, and valve made spy worse.
@@kon-ichiwa6987 yeah but to be fair, spy shouldn't be able to headshot snipers from across the map, i mean, the ambassador nerf was needed, but they didn't dig the grave six feet deep, they did it 20x that. as soon as a scout walks 3 or 3.5 seconds of distance, thats that, you're at 54 damage when critting, and at that point whats the use of crits, you dont see any class going in and basically kissing you for crit damage, unless its something like a scout or pyro, maybe a heavy.

I want to be a spy main like StaryKrow does, But my internet's terrible. Whenever I trickstab, I fail instantly, Living in Iraq ain't easy, We have terrible internet there. also can't aim with the Ambassador because I'm bad apparently. I wish someone would help me with aiming and trickstabbing.
I live in Canada, which wouldn’t be a problem. But I live in an outport town that receives pretty lacklustre internet services. We hav 6mb download, 0.2mb upload and an average of 60 ping depending on current usage. It usually hovers around 80-90.

The old Amby just turn Spy into a really effective Sniper. DR + Spycicle lets him get away with ease, and he'll be back to pester with those long range 102 dmg again unlike a Sniper who gets killed when aggressively approached. Normal cloak also gives the Spy better positioning than a Sniper could ever have, leading to always have to guess where Spy would pop up AT LONG RANGE. Not to mention, although Amby only deals 102 damage, being skillful enough, you can theoretically can achieve the same or more DPS than a Sniper can due to how fast you could fire Amby, even with the headshot cooldown. Amby is good enough now, but having a weapon like Diamondback just makes Amby feel more underpowered even though it isnt.

As someone who plays a lot of pyro and sees how bad a lot of spies can be, I really love encountering and watching videos of amazing spies. There's something magical about seeing someone appear from nowhere and facestab me a demo and a soldier and then vanish as quickly as they appear.
The dead ringer being able to pick up ammo boxes was definitely bad since you could abuse it easily, i mean if it had a few different bad things such as you get less from ammo boxes it would work but it would still be a bit too powerful. The amby did not need a nerf though
I like the DR lol, it's just because I prefer to meme in game and that's such a perfect way to piss on the other teams fun. Ambi makes me sad tho, I still use it because I got a festive.

The invis watch is and has always been balanced, to be fair, with the ambassador you basically have infinite headshots since you leave spawn, and with the diamondback you need to play the game to obtain crits, so at the end you're actually doing something else to gain those 10000HU 102 damage

I genuinely don’t understand the ambassador and dead ringer nerf Spy is so weak in competitive, and nerfing ambassador just made him less competitively viable, making sniper literally unchallenged in how powerful he is. Dead ringer was annoying but nerfing it doesn’t make it any less annoying either.
Anything to make people use the dead ringer less would be nice. It's such an unfun weapon to fight against and hopefully people will actually feign their death with it now instead of just using it as a get-out-of-jail free card instead of using actual skill in their aggressive spy play.

@@grenetin6062 I play a decent amount of spy, not great, not terrible, and I like the DR as it is, since it's more of a tool that you can act with than a free escape utility, it was way more spamable before the nerf, and about the ambassador, I dont use it too much (because my aim is shit) but i think it's good now, maybe it could be buffed a bit, but it's more of a self defense tool that a weapon you would be using all the time, since spy should be based around acting, or at least I see it like that.
@@apyr1439 I agree that the DR isn't bad, but removing the ability of recharging cloak with ammo completely was a bit too much, so other watches are better most of the time. Valve should've either made it so you get 75 percent less cloak from ammo, or get zero from ammo and still be able to fill the DR with a building's scraps.
Phlog, does less damage than stock, only gives guaranteed crits that die in 5 seconds. If there's any flamethrower that should be nerfed, it's the Dragon's Fury Seriously, two close up shots with it and half of the classes in the game are dead instantly

Sniper has secretly been the balancing team's golden child. Anything that remotely pissed off the edgy mains valve tended to it fairly quickly.

The dead ringer nerf was understandable but I don’t think that’s the case for the ambassador,especially not how harsh they were on it

The invis watch is and has always been balanced, to be fair, with the ambassador you basically have infinite headshots since you leave spawn, and with the diamondback you need to play the game to obtain crits, so at the end you're actually doing something else to gain those 10000HU 102 damage
Apyr de maybe bringing back its range and having something else be a down fall,like less cloak or less movement speed,I don’t know

Hey I did this shit with my friends in the Intel room. Their were 8 spy’s in the Intel room
8 spies cloak and dagger, once someone grabs the intel, they get blasted to TFC

Stary is better at revolver, klown is better with knives

I genuinely don’t understand the ambassador and dead ringer nerf
Spy is so weak in competitive, and nerfing ambassador just made him less competitively viable, making sniper literally unchallenged in how powerful he is.
Dead ringer was annoying but nerfing it doesn’t make it any less annoying either.
I think a nerf to the dead ringer was appropiate, but not the harsh nerf they gave it.
Anything to make people use the dead ringer less would be nice. It's such an unfun weapon to fight against and hopefully people will actually feign their death with it now instead of just using it as a get-out-of-jail free card instead of using actual skill in their aggressive spy play.
@@purrosie4742 A bunch of stuff is unfun to face, but nerfing it to the ground isn't the solution. Maybe a tamer nerf, mechanics change or a buff to other weapons.
@@grenetin6062 I play a decent amount of spy, not great, not terrible, and I like the DR as it is, since it's more of a tool that you can act with than a free escape utility, it was way more spamable before the nerf, and about the ambassador, I dont use it too much (because my aim is shit) but i think it's good now, maybe it could be buffed a bit, but it's more of a self defense tool that a weapon you would be using all the time, since spy should be based around acting, or at least I see it like that.
@@apyr1439 I agree that the DR isn't bad, but removing the ability of recharging cloak with ammo completely was a bit too much, so other watches are better most of the time. Valve should've either made it so you get 75 percent less cloak from ammo, or get zero from ammo and still be able to fill the DR with a building's scraps.
I'm pretty sure Stary used this soundtrack only cause of Re:Zero

@@woobgamer5210 At least with the Dragons Fury, it's semi-automatic. Most of the time, the flames don't hit shit, either, even on a direct hit, because their hitboxes are broken.
@@woobgamer5210 The dragons fury atleast requires some degree of accuracy as getting consistent hits on the same target does more damage. The Phlog encourages the worst possible play style for pyro; literally W + M1.
