That rig makes perfect sense 👌. So many times the float is swirling and it just won't go. The presentation of that strung out bulk and the float dragged away against the bank just makes them feel safe to feed, and added bonus of the tight line acting like a self hooking rig. Brilliant 👏
Brilliant video Mike , amazing what a difference the changing of the rig made , really made a huge difference to my understanding through your channel, always looking forward to next - Thankyou 👍
Excellent video. I'm learning loads from these. This line works well at my local venue but I've messed it up more often than not! So, there are loads of tips to implement here. The first being don't feed too close to the margin!! I know I've done that wrong more than once!!😂 Thanks again. I hope you keep these coming.
Great video. I used to use exactly this tactic when pleasure fishing. Luncheon meat with pellets on a strung out rig, laid on with a 6’ stalking rod. Hit and hold worked every time!
i had carp climbing on each others backs in my swim probably to many but still couldnt get them to bite so will be giving the 2nd rig a try as im having a season to forget this year and you wouldnt think a lake that big you would get many down the edge as with all your vids you always take something away and good quality thankyou👍👍
Great video as always Mikey and what a great rig and thanks again for taking the time out other me some advice on weston. I had an absolutely amazing time 👍. Keep up the great content and thanks again Mikey 👍
Just back from fishing Westwood Lakes. Fished Skylark peg 39 on last day and used your idea. Fished right hand side margin between peg and tree. Used 8mm pellet on hook and fed 6 mm's loose. Had 47 lbs in last Hour. Will try it next time using your baits. Fantastic method. Cheer Mikey
great vid awesome mikey this line is megga had over 200 pound on this line at the glebe lake 1 peg 30 that strung out rig is a game changer for them edges
Great video and new rig seems to be a game changer Thanks. Can you help all my carp seem to go mad once in the net between my legs how do you unhook them so quick and stop them going berserk TIA
I’m quite new to all this, I usually feed where I’m fishing, can you explain the advantage are you getting feeding 18” off the edge then fishing closer in? I’ll be definitely trying the over depth rig. Great video
@@droylsdenblue hi mate, when fishing in the edge I don’t want to many fish all around my rig, it’s hard to get the rig in position then. So I feed away a little and pick of the ones that come close to my rig 👍🏻
Great video the difference shotting makes but why do you shot your floats with a bulk and 1 dropper in your other video could you not shot the same to get the “curvvve “
@@geoffreyselby9327 hi Geoff yea could string that rig out but I want a light a float as I can get away with less shots and smaller shots create a nicer curve I feel
7:20 Not just at the end of the day. The clever ones will come in all session to pickup any discarded or dropped bait. Usually angry coz you have hooked em. I give them a sprinkle of hemp to keep their interest and keep the rest of pole close ready to make up quick and ship out if I hook a donkey. What I don't understand is how they can distinguish between sticks or roots brushing against them and line? One touch of the line and there's a big swirl and bow wave yet you can watch them roll around debris or roots with impunity. Oh and hands up who's ever left a loaded hook close in, not watching it and nearly (or has) lost their rod or top kit? After 25yrs of being careful I finally succumbed to the schoolboy error and lost my top sections😞. #expensiveslurpoftea
@@markporter4375 hi mark, I want to try and keep the fish out in the lake a bit so I don’t get too many around my rig at one time, they will always want to come close to the bank as possible. I don’t want them getting in behind my rig this can pull your rig out of position and cause lots of foul hooking issues, the less bait close to the bank the better so as they approach the bank they pick out your hoobait quicker
@dragonangling Thanks for the reply. Would you still do this even if the depth is deeper where your feeding to where you putting your rig. Will give it a go next time out. Cheers
