Oof the riflemen wipe in the beginning was painful. That 14 minutes battle was intense! Really well played by gentlefox pushing back after the initial loss, I wonder if you took that at gun with your engineer if it would have came out differently
I was hesitant to take the AT as I think my engineers would of died under the line of sight fire of two Stummels. I think the best play would have been to walk the Arty Observers slightly back at 14:10, fire a smoke to cover the Engineers whilst they recrewed it. It would of caused a big micro tax for opponent to attack ground and given me a chance to get away.
Great! after the patch (and your videoes) i used ur 2 scouts builds, and i think it's absolutely crucial. The changes made it so, that USF have a hard time winning head to head during (i think) all 3 fases of the game.
Great to hear they were useful! Yeah USF can't really charge in and think later anymore. If you initiate the contact with Riflemen, walk into a wall of Grenadiers or Panzer Grenadiers at mid or long range, their KAR98 rifles will hurt in just a couple of volleys. The Scout allow for the vision control to prevent that and some smoke to safely close gaps. Increase lethality has definitely made Scouts more important!
I feel Riflemen are better than Rangers as I feel quantity is more important than quality in 1v1 maps which are inherently wider. I also felt this way in the previous Coral Viper patch. Generally, I rather have multiple attacking directions than one hard hitting unit. Rangers still have their place, if you can find that gap and exploit it, catch them off guard with an unexpected conversion or if the Axis has no suppression units. Rangers force the Axis player to get some form of suppression. High level players tend to maintain good vision control so they know where they need to place their HMG or Sniper to quickly shut down a Ranger squad. I still use Rangers though! Best time is when a Riflemen gets a clear massive flank in the early game or an extended T1 Wehrmacht or T0 DAK build. I still win games outright in the early game when I recognize the opportunity. I'll find some games to showcase this :)

Great game, thanks for the video!
I'm wondering what do you think of rangers now, since I didn't see you build any. Thanks!
