I’m so tired of Joy and people like her saying the economy is thriving bc I’d like to know where. I live in nyc and the cost of living is absolutely insane. Nothing has gone down. It has stayed up and continued to go up in some consumer products. Groceries, electricity, water, gas etc. Ppl are being replaced with AI in jobs. Self checkouts are replacing ppl in jobs so wtf is she talking about.

They don't get it. Adding jobs isn't the problem. It's the pay associated with those jobs that's the problem.
The other issue is getting people to work those jobs. We have a record high of jobs not filled. I have noticed it in my city, SO many places have reduced hours and even are now closed on days they were not before due to employers not being able to fill the positions.

Alyssa has so much class compared to some other people who have sat in that seat. That was the proper response to the audience's reaction. I mean, I might have had the same reaction and it wouldn't have been any malice to her, but she took that with such grace and flipped it into a great moment for her. There are definitely others (on the Democrats side) running against Biden. Ana Navarro spoke lies and those on the panel should have corrected her.
Alyssa handled the boos with grace and didn’t get all screechy and start yelling “well my dad”. Booing is not ok, I don’t agree with her but I always appreciate her view. She’s smart and gets her point across articulately and with manners. As a staunch liberal, Biden was not my first second or third choice. I do seriously think that democrats should think about someone who could beat the likes of Nikki Hayley, ignoring that would be a mistake.

An entire industry has been on strike for a year, many of us have been unemployed or underemployed since the start of the pandemic. Jobs are back, but money is not, especially when inflation and interest rates make it impossible to come back when wages remain abysmally low.
Such a good conversation. I appreciated how Sunny finally admitted things aren’t the best under Biden rather than blindly defending him. He isn’t awful, but he’s not perfect either and we need to be able to admit that in order to try and fix the messaging issues.

I grew up in Louisiana where several households sent their kids to private schools since they were affiliated with a religious group (catholic, Baptist, etc) but the public schools where I grew up were just as good of an education for me so my parents sent me there. It’s okay for parents to have the choice in what school they send their kid to if they want a specific education for their kid. It’s not okay for those parents to infiltrate the public schools to get the “type” of schooling they want. They are never advocating for STEM or CTE classes but instead wanting religious classes. That is the problem with the “parental rights” discussions. If you want your kid to get a religious education then they can send them to those schools but you don’t have a right to dictate what public school teach even though it’s not to your liking.
That’s why we want school choice.
As a person who is center-left I disagree with Trump on a lot of his policies, but my life was actually a 100 times better when he was President. I actually had spare money in the bank and could go out and afford things which under Biden I'm no longer able to do. So in 2024 if it's Trump versus Biden I'm definitely gonna vote for Trump.

Not a conservative in the least, but I really hate how rude Joy and Sunny can be to Alyssa. Alyssa is not like previous conservative hosts, she has intelligent insights and backs up her thoughts with receipts. Joy and Sunny have to actually do some homework and not just throw shade.

Stop looking at statistics and ask people on the ground who are trying to pay bills what it costs to do so as opposed to only a few years ago! The rate of inflation increase is down, but inflation is way up and this is the issue for those of us us in the trenches! When you miss this, you miss the discontent of the American people and a fundamental disconnect of this discussion! And btw, with low unemployment, having a job doesn't mean one is paying the bills! Some us have spent a year to years, at a financial deficit, digging ourself out of a financial mire due to the events of the Covid crisis, only to now be met with much higher prices for everything!

My God, the way Alyssa handled the public reaction compared to MM. The show is no longer toxic. It really is incredible. And also shocking how one bad seed can have such a terrible impact on a group, a company, any environment really. I'm very happy with this new addition and with such a cohesive and healthy group.

I lived in 5 apartments since I was 24 & I live paycheck to paycheck 🙃 and I have 2 kids with my boyfriend of almost 20 years & we can't afford to take vacations or get married or save for our future. We constantly put ourselves last because life puts the all mighty dollar 1st. We just have been existing in this world & raising our kids the best way we can. Daycare was a challenge, Doctor visits were hard to make, we didn't enroll our daughters in youth programs or pre-k because it wasn't in our area, there were wait lists, & we couldn't afford it. Too many disappointed days weeks months & years. So much time wasted. Our daughter's are in middle school and high school now--we have to help them get cars & go to college. All the while, jobs pay you $#!% or you get laid-off multiple times. When is it ever going to stop!!!!!!??????🤯🤯🤯

I think Sunny's last point was probably the most important and I wish they had been able to continue that conversation then just put further. I've always said the same thing as an educator and it's part of the reason why I went into education why can't the education standards at a public school be equal to that at a private school when we talk about school choice and equal access we need to talk about the whole everyone should have the opportunity to take AP classes for example that is not always the case everyone should not be opportunity to be taught by the same amazing teachers that is not always the case and a lot of that has to do with money funneling into private and charter schools and the defunding of public schools. We cannot have a conversation about school choice and what's best for students without including that

It’s about what’s best for kids not propping up a failing system.
Private does not necessarily mean better, especially when they are not required to meet the same standards that public schools are required to meet. Privatization is more about destroying public education than about the students. And Sunny was making an excellent point.
I have to say this because this is often ignored in the school of choice. A private school does not have to follow federal law as a public one does regarding Special education kids and disabled kids. Private schools are allowed to turn down a child in a wheelchair because by law they don't have to make their building handicap accessible because they are private. They also do not have to provide Special education. As a former Special Ed kid if private schools want my $$ they better have to follow the same laws, STDs, and so on as a public school. This will create a two-tier education system where the kids who have to go to the public schools are stuck there with less money to provide services they have to legally provide. Also, I am not okay with being forced with my tax money to subsidize a religious school. Why are not my religious rights of not being religious not respected? If you want to send your child to a religious school that's your right but it is not your right to then force me to pay for it who doesn't want religion in my life and pocketbook. To often when "freedom" is used it only means freedom a small population agrees with and the rest of us aren't given that same freedom.
Giving parents a choice where their kids go to school takes money away from public schools. Didn't you go to a private school? Don't your kids go to a private school? LOL. What a hypocrite Sunny is.
