It's been a full month of using the new predators so it's time to take a look at their full in field review and man is there a whole lot to talk about ESPECIALLY this all new embossed URG 1.0 and 2.0 latex that does come in plastic prewrapping but is much LESS sticky than even the last model of the URG!
So why did Adidas go for less sticky latex on both their Adidas Predator Pro and Hybrid Pro model? It seems like it is a concerted effort to improve all around durability of both the consumer and pro level glove which to be honest is a great feature for the common keeper!!
Lets take a look at some features of our new Adidas Glove range
- Negative & Roll Hybrid Cut
- New URG embossed latex with improved durability
- NEW backhand with added punching platform and weight for stopping power
- Wrapped LATEX thumb for improved handling
- Wrapped palm with a bigger abrasion zone!

i'm 18 and I used to play volleyball for 5 years, last year I decided to switch to soccer, and I absolutely love being in the goal. I used to watch so many tutorial videos, and I always focus 110% in my trainings, nowadays I can say that I have a fairly good technique with my strenghts being agility, game sense and decision making. Unfortunately i'm kinda short (5'9) but unlike when I was playing volleyball I am way more confindent and I feel like I have a huge room of improvement; I feel like I can be a pretty good gk despite my height and also I'm convinced that even if being tall is quite a big advantage, it is not essential or as important as people think it is....
that's a great way to think about it and coming from volleyball there are a lot of skills that transfer over! as long as you work on your technical points and especially focus on footwork you can make anything happen! let us know how your season goes!! thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! I’m currently using these Alberto, Hybrid 2.0. Comfort and feel are great, I actually find the grip better at game 2/3. Gloveglu wash&prepare helps with the tackiness too. Great review and spot on about balance between insane grip and overall durability for a high priced glove 👍🏻
I May be wrong, but what iv seen and felt with this gloves is that stickiness and grip isn’t the same. What we actually need is a non slippery material, which doesn’t necessarily means that it sticks to the ball but instead prevents it from skipping, and that’s what this new palm achieved with a durability boost.

I was told by one of the glove dealers here in China that now Adidas is only using the stickiest URG 1.0 latex on their player models with no identifiers on the palm. The models we could find on the market are equipped with the re-designed URG 1.0 (marked on the palm) which sacrifice a bit of grip for more durability. They are more suitable for non-professions.
Anyway, are you going to make the top 5 gloves in 2021 vid? I'm quite looking forward to it!

I’m so glad they finally added protection to the thumb I sprained both of my thumbs from diving and bending it backwards because the thumb had no stability or protection for diving

So far the best gloves I’ve used are the Rinat Aries pro (with latex AXG). I’ve used other brands too like Uhlsport, Elite, Adidas, and Nike. However, the Rinat Aries Pro fit nice around the fingers and the latex is durable and sticky. Just be careful not to order the Aries pro with Supernova grip, which is good, but its prime feature on that grip is durability for like dirt fields. I know this cuz I accidentally thought that the model Aries Pro had the same grip on all colors but nope. The white, neon green, and blue have AXG latex; and the black one is Supernova latex. So now I have a pair for practice (Supernova), and the other pair for games (AXG). 😁

When I first peeled of the plastic of the new URG 1.0, I did have the same problem as u.
But after washing them once with only warm water - just as u did - the initial grip was WAY better. Not as good as the previous once but still decent enough to stick together.
Dont know if I just got lucky but just wannet to let u guys know.

usually most gloves need a pre wash then some water put on them for the grip to work there a video of aaron ramsdale on the arsenal yt that he put water on his gloves and seems to get the grip

How is the durability of them now
Great to know that the durability improved, but I gonna stick with Uhlsport for now. I need a glove that can last at least a season and keep its stickiness.

I am using a T1tan glove and the durability is very bad so I am looking for a new pair. I am considering switching to Ulhsport.
@@MK-lc9fp for durability and practice use, use Albsolutegrip. For games, use Supergrip+

@@MK-lc9fp tbh probably not, I train with turf at my D1 school, I prefer west coast cuz it’s cheap and last super long and the grip is decent and it stays that way, even when torn

There's these two small glove brands, Olympus Goalkeeping based in Ohio, and Claw Goalkeeper Gloves based in the UK that would do well from a review. They're both inexpensive and you'd be able to boost their profile a lot
We Need an Adidas Pro Model with the Rolled Cut and a URG 1.0 Latex
Alright I make fun of adidas gloves all the time, but just wanna say that in my experience, sticking to palms themselves translates very little, if at all, to the actual grip of the gloves on the ball. Some gloves with extremely good latex such as Sells and west coast don't really stick as well to the palms as well, but as we all know, they are some of the best latex on the market. I think a lot of people focus on how sticky it is to the palms and think that as the golden indicator for actual grip, and sly marketers use that as eye catcher to sell mediocre latex to ppl who don't know better.
Edit: my oxidized disintegrating absolutgrip has zero grip on the ball but pretty sticky to the palms. Goes on to show how little such "grip test" really matter
Agree - sells one of, if the best latex I’ve ever used, but aren’t stick! Also AB1GK gloves didn’t feel sticky at all but performed so well in all conditions

Had the exact same experience with Absolutgrip around the 2 month mark - still tacky and sticky and making the noise, but not holding onto the ball, especially if there was any rain or dew around.
I feel extreme sticky latex palms unnaturally good. For example, It’s hard to describe Sells top palms but I concluded the grip on those is based on the friction rather than on the stickiness, like a good wheel on rolling in sharp black concrete. The urg1.0s seem to be have that kind of palm but I’m not willing to spend 100+ on a strapless to try.

Another great video Alberto! How would you compare both 1.0 and 2.0 in terms of grip and then durability? Both from 1 to 10? I think it would be good for those that wonder if it's worth to pay more for 1.0 or it's good enough to stick with 2.0

Man i have been waiting for this video for 2 months. Also Alberto I got a question. You surely know the „Mega grip spray“ or what it is called. Do you know if there is a downsight on this spray? So you get more grip obviously but is the glove less durable for example?
I never like sprays because they just end up getting the palms dirtier much quicker

any chance of a video on Sells 🤞, especially considering the influx of keepers wearing them. wld be very interested to see how the grip compares to some of the other mainstream gloves with Sells primarily being designed for wet weather.

@@ARSGoalkeeping good luck with getting them to sponsor. selsport might be worth a look as well, as that was the owners original company and r a good cost effective way if getting the quality of sells without the big price tag. I swear by sells but have used selsport in the past plenty and despite the different names they r still very similar to sells big models

Hi Alberto, top show video! Been waiting on this one ever since the first reveal of the new Predators. Quick question, going into the summer break soon, would you recommend these over a pair of Absolutegrips? I’m looking to be training around 3-4 times a week, with a wash after every session. My main concern is durability, as we do 100% Astro. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

I recently bought a pair of URG 1.0 Hybrid pro and I found the same, around the same time as the first look video, and I was really disappointed, wished I could sent them back because I really wanted a pair due to the reviews ( Due to Budget) but I had them personalised…but I whole hearted agree with the 2.0 comment about wash and prepare but I think I’ll pick the absolutgrip and supergrip+

half a size up with the FS might be a good idea as they will fit a bit tighter

I know that this is a random comment but is it normal for a goalie to have cuts and bruises on his knees, hips, and elbows? I play on artifitial grass with those black bits, and everytime i train i get more cuts and more cuts. Is it due to my form or is it completely normal?
you should really be having cuts if you have the correct diving technique.
But also get yourself some protective training wear with padding in.
a lot of pro keepers when training will wear protective undershirt padding to protect their bodies while training so that they stay fit for games as remember you will be doing a lot of repetitive diving and landing.

I haven't played with Adidas gloves for almost 8 years, now I've got the urge to wear them again and bought the model in Negative Cut... What the hell did Adidas do with the slip-on?! I've never had a glove that was bought half a size larger, and yet I can't or hardly put my hand in it without having to worry about the seams tearing.
Will this problem go away on its own after a while, or is this the only glove with a slip-on that's too tight for me? Otherwise I'll send the gloves back... It breaks my heart, Adidas once put such great models on the market...
most of the slip ons have to be insanely tight to recreate the hold of a wrist strap keeping the hands in place, there are some that fit a little looser like the puma's but for the most part it takes me a solid minute to get most of these pairs on now a days
idk man but i have the same pair in fake grass it held up so good i have played 5 matches so far and it is like in brand-new condition and the grip is still there, maybe the mud and real grass were the issues with them

Personally I like the snug fit, so I stay with my normal size 9
I've alway used size 12 Reuch Orthotec or Adidas fingersave so though I'd try these..They look amazing but I cant get my hand into the glove cause of the tight cuffs..I dont understand why they make size 12 gloves but keep these cuffs so tight..Back to velcro cuffs for me
Totally understand! I have crazy skinny wrists and some of these gloves are impossible for me to get on I can't imagine what it's like for you big handed keepers

either or won't do you wrong only thing I would recommend is to go for the hybrid model (2.0 latex is most likely the one to win )

I have ADIDAS PREDATOR GL PRO HYBRID , i would never buy gloves without velcro strap again , i just broke my wrist on a penalty , it was my fault cuz i put the hand bad but not having that velcro my hand gone backwards so bad .. :(.

Amazing how many goalkeepers use these gloves. Every game I watch, the goalkeepers have blue adidas gloves and blue football boots .. It means that they are the best in the world and all criticism falls away.
It only means Adidas pays player more than other manufacturers.
