    Bro you're so awesome! I'm a house DJ and I learned on vinyl. Your stuff has helped me get over my fear of digital controllers because it can be quite a learning curve moving from a record crate physically to now a digital record crate that is endless. To put it short I appreciate you Zee!

    What makes a great DJ is the ability to read people.. read the crowd.. perform and adjust on the fly..

    Good advice. Music is technical however the house music DJ I grew up with from the NYC Loft and Paradise Garage days all felt the music! It was innate.

      these were the days with the music, from the loft, the gallery, the paradise garage, sound factory, warehouse, zanzibar, and all the great clubs and venues from back then
      brought to hamburg, so we also could enjoy the essence of real club and especially black music.

    Thanks for the great vids! The first vids I’ve found that are actually helping me so thank you so much! I keep finding that I find songs in the same key and of the same bpm but they both have vocals and these clash at lot so I end up soundling like I’m just fading in and out of songs not really using the most of the techniques and effects. Am I supposed to be using one track acapella and the other instrumental to make it work? Is this something you’re able to advise me on? Many thanks

    How is practicing a step in planning a dj set? With all due respect, this is entirely general advice and not very helpful.

    • @rayw8123
      @rayw8123 2 года назад +7

      Its a planned set of course you should practice some of the transitions to ensure it actually sounds good to you before you play it for others. I think this is very helpful advice especially for a beginner DJ who should be practicing like crazy regardless.

    • @ngnr7794
      @ngnr7794 2 года назад +1

      @@rayw8123 good for you that you found value. Nowhere in the title does it say that the information is for the beginner and I was hoping to learn about 'creating a set' and not how to perform a set. The art of curating playlists is something I've been trying to explore but there's no one out there who can really explain what works, how and why. There's just those who repeat the very same few tips over and over again. If this is the 20th video you find talking about the same tips, you'd understand where I'm coming from

      I'm sorry you didn't find what you were looking for here but when it comes to curating playlists it all comes down to having a large selection pool (a point brought up in the video) at your disposal. You need to be willing to experiment with a large selection of tracks and really spend the time to fine tune a playlist to not only your liking but to the liking of your audience, your crowd, your producer, etc. It's a time consuming process and you only get better at it the more you do it on your own.
      ...Also the titles of all videos in this series currently ends with the suffix "for Beginners" but regardless I'm sorry you didn't find what you were looking for ☹️

      What the fuck do you mean (beginner) is not in the title? WTF? I suggest some classes in reading before you attempt to be a DJ 🤣🤣👎🏻
