Absolutely amazing! I'm also building a Vox out of a 65 1800. I'm about 2 years in. Very inspiring! The bumpers are some of the hardest work and yours looks amazing!
Looks really good. Very nice body work, all steel, high quality preparation 👍 It looks like a Shark with the swept back head lights. Kind regards Paul from 48 Spokes 🇬🇧
Shaun Hensley there will be a piece of chrome trim on top of the fun that is remaining. It will add a little more style And more closely resemble the original. Just not quite as dramatic as from the factory.
Enough posting -- get this done! I jest of course, but your build is amazing. I cannot wait to see it done. You should work with the shop to do your final product as a package for interested owners. Would be terrible to see any pristine 1800s ruined, but there are plenty of tired cars on the road that would be ideal for this conversion. I'm thinking with a Polestar twin charged 4-cyl this car would be a hoot.
@@68EFIvert Yea I gathered that much. I guess what I'm trying to find out are like the modification specs for the body itself. Were there any drawings anything that aided you in how to get the body how it's represented in the Google images? That's what I need to know before I even get the idea of finding someone to help me with this build
@@mastermonitor76 no specs. Lots of measuring as we went to make sure it was balanced on each side. A good metal man should be able to do it. My guy was into this a few thousand hours so be prepared to have sticker shock. It will alway be more than they estimate it to be. Most of the parts on the car are made for it or highly modified to work. Nothing was a simple bolt on.
I love these cars such an Italian look to them and much cheaper. I know where one is being stored in an auto shop..I see it all the time when I deliver parts to them. I would love to do a resto mod and engine swap on one of these.
Great looking job . Love to see it in person I live up north south of Seattle and have a couple of 1800’s one runner one parts car. Looking for a good body shop guy that can work on the runner . Let me know if anyone comes to mind. Great work.!
Really like the look of this do you have any more build video of the bodywork being done? I hope you will keep posting updates from now until its finished. what front head lights are you using?
busted bothlegs never really did any videos of the work being done but I have a build log of the car. You can find it here www.pro-touring.com/threads/95668-1968-Volvo-project-Pure-Volvocity/page18?p=1233562&highlight=Volvo I am using Jeep Patriot headlights but they have been extensively modified to fit.
Please i must start wok with you i Love Volvo and have workshop with whelding in 10 years now on car muffler and exost pipes. Your design is from Volvo heven!
Nice! That’s just east about 10 mins from me. Ha! Love the body on those Volvos. Nice choice in wheels too. I’m thinking about doing one of those myself with an LS motor, but haven’t found the right one yet.
courgargold If you ever want a closer look just let me know. Be happy to meet you and take you for a ride in it. Give me a year on the ride part. Gotta get the thing finished first. 😉
Kent Ekholm thanks for the appreciation of the workmanship. I don’t think I will go through the work to make a fiberglass recreation of the car though.
OscarPanzer we are finishing up with the custom headers, exhaust and radiator now. Hopefully that will be done in the next couple of weeks. After that it is final metal work in the engine compartment then paint. The car will have a very healthy LS3 (650+\- hp) and a paddle shifted transmission. Progress has been really slow the last few months though.
68EFIvert I do really wanna know how it feels like when it is completed lol I thought might a RB26 or 4G63 engine in my mind at first thought (wild no brainer guess)
Hatish Mayer the back of the car is all remade with the exception of the lights. I got a pair off a Lotus Elise. They are slightly larger than stock. The bumpers were original 1963 Corvette bumpers but have been highly modified to fit the car.
Yeah, awesome work mate. The rear bumpers were shaved to fit to the body I guess. The front are quarter bumpers look also flushed to the body. What bumpers are those? Guess you could use the originals as well and shave them to fit. Lots of retro mods on P1800's these days. Love your work mate. Hoping you have the finished car for us to see. Cheers
Hatish Mayer the front bumpers started out as 1970 Camaro split bumpers. Again heavily modified to fit and look good. I am not 100% confident with the front bumpers. We’ll likely have to do a bit more work on them for me to consider them ready for chrome. Thanks for the appreciation of my project. Custom cars get all kinds of responses. Some good and some not so good.
Yeah true ... but the custom car appreciation factor is growing compared to many years back. What would the front turn signal lights be from as I noticed a reduction in size compared to the stock unit?
Hatish Mayer The original turn signals are now driving lights. The turn signals are now the lights in the valance. They also function as daytime running lights. I also put he’d halos inside the headlights to will function as turn signals as well. The halos are hidden inside the Schroeder and are visible through clear holes.
Dennis Nirmark the engine will be a 416 LS3 making around 600-650 hp. I am working on wiring layout and hooking up ABS and traction control before it goes in for paint. Getting close to color now!
Abdoul Aziz Wane Thanks for the compliment. I am not sure about building another one. I am 6 years into this one. With that said, everything is for sale for the right price. 😉
Beautiful job on the shaved wings.

One of the most beautiful cars ever designed. I bet this one will turn out to be gorgeous!

I had one few years back loved it ...then I sold to to a guy in hayward ca ...never seen it since...
bloody heck, that looks gorgeous
Very, very nice. Nice bodywork and design. An artist at work!
Lookin AWESOME, so many little touches in the body work, but looks nice.
Conflicted about the shaved wings. Rest looks awesome
Shaun Hensley there will be a piece of chrome trim on top of the fun that is remaining. It will add a little more style And more closely resemble the original. Just not quite as dramatic as from the factory.
68EFIvert great work. Hope you have as much fun driving it as you had building it

I am using the rendering of the Vox 1800 Volvo. You can do a google search and see quite a few views. I am in Washington State near Portland, OR.
68EFIvert oh my god its beautiful!!
Hey man. Been trying to fond the renderings online so I can build the body. Can you help me out s bit on where to find them
@@mastermonitor76 just do a Google image search for Vox Volvo P1800 and you will find them.

68EFIvert buddy! That sounds like a plan!
When do you want to start on my 1800e? What is that lower valance off of?
Beutiful....
this is such a good looking body, is there any chance you will help build another one?
Char Aznable I likely won’t do another car like this but everything is for sale for the right price.😉. Perhaps my next build will be an old Jag.
Cant you please make fiberglas copies of this body? I would realy like to buy one copy.

Super amazing work on a P1800. I like the rear redesigned ... boxed license plate and rear lights seem larger. Are these all custom made?

625 hp LS3, paddle shifted 4l60e and a Ford 9”.
what engine do you use? is it the original? Nice work by the way!

👍👍👍👍👍
Do you have a rendering? Also, where are you located? I'm thinking of doing a project with a P1800
Lawrence Ross I am using the Vox Volvo rendering as inspiration for my build. A quick google search will pull up some images.
Lawrence Ross I almost forgot to tell you I am in Washington State.
Amazing and great work!!!!!!! Share on my facebook page.
What if you are a complete noob, is this a good first project car? I love the looks of this so bad!
Good lord, that's straight up pornographic. 0_0
