This is the best foundation I have ever used. I am 71 years old and this foundation is totally worth the cost! My skin is dry but this matte foundation is totally fine for dry skin. No settling in pores or wrinkles and it absorbs right into your skin without looking like it is sitting on top. It works well with my serums and sunscreens .... Thank you for reviewing this! I won't be wasting money trying different foundations. Let us pray that Dior keeps this around "forever!"

@@colleenpec121 I have been using the Dior foundation with various sunscreens, moisturizers, etc. Here's my take on it: it is definitely matte, but is the only matte foundation I have tried that doesn't show up your pores or wrinkles. It is less matte if you have a good moisturizer or primer with a little luminosity in it under the foundation. Also, a spray on setting spray will reduce the matte finish. It is the most matte when it is over just a mineral sunscreen. It is a good-coverage foundation and a little goes a long way. I have been dabbing it on using my Beauty Blender. If Dior makes a non-matte version that doesn't settle in wrinkles and pores, I would go for that.

I purchased the Dior Forever glow. 2N Great buildable coverage with a beautiful glow. Even the young woman wears it covers acne & rosacea. I use Cerave A.M. P.M moisturizer & on my 2nd bottle of the Fenty primer which I love!!! I am on the hunt for an anti-aging tried & true routine. Cleanser Vitamin C , exfoliator etc.
I purchased it after watching this and it's great!! I'm ok with spending $$$ on foundation, as it's the most important aspect for me. I cut costs using other great drugstore makeup!

In my experience of watching Angie’s reviews for over four years, she rarely raves about any product unless it is absolutely exceptional. And she is really tough on makeup so when Angie raved about this foundation, I knew I had to try it. OH. MY. GOSH. I am 58 and this foundation is pure magic! Everything Angie says in this video is 💯 true. I also bought Dior’s Skin Perfecting cream. It eliminates the need for a primer. Great review, Angie. And thank you!

I loved the Lancome teint Idole nude ist was really like the Channel Velvet but Not so drying. Both are discontinued 😕 i am searching for a lightweight fluid matte Foundation That has a fine Finish. I hate all the thick formulars like Estee lauder futurist or the it cosmetics cc cream 🥴
Ladies with super dry skin: do not be afraid to use this foundation. There's a glowy version too and I got a sample of both at Sephora, thinking there was no way I could use a matte foundation. The matte one is so much better. I couldn't believe it. My skin is like the Sahara, and I live in a super dry climate too. This foundation looks unbelievable. Although I do wear a super glowy sunscreen (La Roche-Posay Melt-in Milk), so if you have super dry skin like me, you might have to adjust what you wear underneath, but this foundation is literal magic-- even for extremely dry skin.

(but really suffered w/ all associated oily skin problems as a young girl. Even resorted to washing my face with Lava soap 😮😬for awhile!)

I bought this after I saw this review. I'm 64. I pair it with Smashbox Photo Finish primer and it goes on like silk, covers without caking, and lasts ALL DAY. I'm a 100% convert. It's a bit pricey but wow is it worth it. I'll say without the primer it feels very dry and doesn't spread as well. But WITH the primer ( it's a silicone primer) it's completely fabulous. I don't even use a setting powder with it.
I am 51 years old and really felt I needed a new foundation. I went to Ulta and Sephora and tried on several highly rated foundations. THEN, I tried this one!!!! I can't believe how amazing this is!!! Thank you to Angie for this share!! This is everything she said it was!!

I’m 53 and was introduced to this foundation a few months ago by a Sephora sales associate when I was needing bulletproof stage makeup for my mature skin. And OMG it was FABULOUS!! And just as perfect for everyday foundation!!

I purchased this foundation after seeing your review and I’m loving it! I’m 38 and live in Texas, where it’s hot & humid; temps have regularly been over 100 degrees lately and this foundation is definitely performing well. At Sephora, they had the same foundation in a “Glow” option as well as this “Matte” option. I almost went with the glowy one because matte foundations have been too drying for me in the past. But I’m really glad I went with the matte. So far, it has worked best for me with a really hydrating moisturizer and my mineral sunscreen underneath. I was also worried about the long-wearing matte foundation feeling gross and cakey on my skin, like Este Launder’s Double Wear does for me. This one feels fine at the end of the day though. I’m extremely picky about foundation and have never found one that’s just perfect, but I think this one is pretty close!

My mom (81) and I (57) both use and love this foundation. I'm oily and she has normal to dry skin and it works for both of us.
So glad to hear this - I’m oily too! In fact, I use a matte primer no matter what, but have yet to find an SPF that doesn’t turn me into a grease pit. 😂 Do you wear anything under the foundation and/or powder on top? I’m thinking I must try this one!

For me, it's the clapping with Dior in one hand. I can't remember Angie being this happy on Foundation Friday!! I have given up on foundation, and just use Lancome Teint Idole concealer, but I might try this beauty.

Best foundation I have used since I've hit my 50's! I have normal to dry skin and it wore beautifully. I started Tretinoin 4 weeks ago, so I have a few dry patches and this foundation didn't cling to the patchy places.The first day I wore it, my husband commented SEVERAL times how good my skin looked. I couldn't believe how good it still looked at 11 pm that night! I've NEVER worn a foundation that didn't settle into fine lines by the end of the day...until now!!

Ok, so I went to my local Sephora for help with selecting the correct shade. 1CR Cool Rosey was a great match. I have HUGE pores and dry-ish skin and the Glow looked better on my skin than the matte.

Angie, I’m 49 and this is my holy grail foundation!! A little tip for some luminosity- mix in some of the Dior forever skin glow foundation. It still has all day holding power and you look fresh and radiant. It’s flawless!!
After watching this video, I immediately had to try this foundation. I have been searching for one that did all the things you talked about--medium coverage, no settling into wrinkles, was long wearing, etc. The best, however, was your enthusiasm for this product, and the actual blurring of pores and texture. I have to say most 60 year old women that i know don't have skin like she does.
Maybe it's more common in the US where Retin A is more available unlike here in Europe where you need to have serious skin issues before they give a prescription. I would like to see how this foundation looks on someone who really has aging skin

Wow! I definitely need to try this again. It looks absolutely gorgeous on your skin! When I tried this foundation on my oily skin, it looked heavy, gave me a weird texture and wrinkles I never even knew I had. I'm adding to my cart again to give it a 2nd chance.
I loved it with the hydrating oil based sunscreen I used under it. I've used it with a couple other sunscreens since the review and it was still great but not as fabulous as it was with the R&R sunscreen, so definitely try a lightweight, hydrating sunscreen under (if you wear one)!

I bought this foundation when it came out couple of months ago. It surprised me as I thought it would disappoint like many others. But so far, it is a holy grail for me in Florida weather no less… no foundation have held that title! Not even remotely close.

The smell really reminds me of Chanel. I love the smell. I used this makeup for the first time yesterday using my fingers. It definitely was very pretty but sure made me realize I haven't been using enough moisturizer as I could see the dry spots everywhere & think I'll use a brush next time as well to apply. I will be working on the dryness as I think this makeup is very nice & I've gotten slack lately. My holy grail was Estee Lauder light & it was discontinued & I've been on the hunt ever since. I've been back using the regular DW but it's not that great for me as I'm 56 & I almost hate it as I've tried everything to make it work for me. The light was gorgeous!! Stupid EL!

Between you and LisaJ I feel like I have to try this one. Your foundation reviews are so thorough and helpful. My "to try" list just keeps growing. One question/idea: can you speak to how this foundation (or others) might do in different climates or times of year? Like you, I'm in the Northeast where right now it is really hot and humid, so sweatproof and heatproof are important right now. But in six months, it will be dry and cold, and then how it wears on my dry-in-winter skin will be a much bigger factor. Or maybe you could revisit your holy grails in the opposite season and let us know how they do? thank you!!!
I was JUST thinking that! I grew up in Maryland, where it was fairly humid for most of the year (a bit drier in the winter and more humid in the summer), but have lived in the very dry Colorado climate for the past four years, and have noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference in the way products interact with/perform on my skin. My skin was EXTREMELY oily back East, and I really had to focus on "oil-control," yet most of my "tried and true" products (mostly cosmetics, but some skincare as well), began to fail me after moving here..... Either drying my skin out directly, accentuating the appearance of any dryness, or by breaking up and cracking, ending up settling into fine lines, creases, and pores. The point I'm trying to make is that I've definitely noticed a lack of information/opinions from beauty gurus/influencers in regards to how certain products perform in different climates... whether due to changing seasons (obviously the climate fluctuates more drastically in some regions more than others), or to traveling (which many influencers clearly do). Anyways..... I think it would be
Incredibly interesting and helpful if influencers/beauty gurus (whatever you wanna call them) would specifically update their following more often on how particular products (especially "holy grail" items) performed throughout the year and during travel, in relation to the changing whether/climate

I accidentally bought this foundation because it is the only line and brand that i found my perfect undertone and overtone match. 3WO. And it turned out to be the most smoothing, beautifully long wearing, sweat, heatproof foundation i have ever used. I 'm in love - I have just bought this foundation and spent the whole day receiving compliments. It was a long day with meetings, lunch, DIY and a social event. This is my holy grail foundation! I LOVE it! I also wear 2.5N. It’s beautiful! I feel so “polished” when I wear it. Im 59 and had oily skin my whole life, which is much less now, but I still don’t like a “dewy” (aka greasy/sticky) foundation. This one is just perfect. It’s lightweight, but good coverage and looks stunning on my skin. So glad you’ve discovered it and feel just like I do about it! 💋
I ran out and also got color matched with 2.5N but I am not yet "in love". Not ready to give up and am wondering if you have any helpful hints to use with an oily t-zone? I did not want to throw a lot of setting powder and setting spray at it because I want to see how it performs on its own.

I planned to buy the DIOR Forever Skin Glow. I have a sample and love it but now…this review makes me want to try this matte formula. Awesome review. I appreciate how willing you are to do extreme close ups. Btw…every time I see you, I think of my mom at about 40 yo. You have her same eye shape (I look like my dad). She would be 103 if still alive…but it’s nice you give me that immediate flashback of her beautiful eyes. 😊

Update: Angie, I purchased this foundation yesterday. I wore it for the first time today...WOW! This is the bomb! I used Kosas under eye concealer (my current fave). My confidence was through the roof. Angie, could you do a Kosas review please. I adore the lip oils, the brow products and of course the concealer. Also could you please review cream blush. Thanks!

@@rochellepizza5802 my dear after you get done washing your face putting on your serums and then a good face cream you can even mix oil within it so it locks in all of the moisture.. always allow your skin care to sink in.
I'm pretty darn shocked at how hydrating rare beauty has been. Absolutely. Their concealers and their foundation. It's looked really pretty on my skin. I'm 45 I have fine lines. And I have combo dry and I get a little oily in my T-Zone. But I like that glow.
Something that's even more hydrating than the CC cream. Futurist Hydra Rescue by Estee Lauder.. very hydrating..

First foundation that Anjie likes and I don't. It oxidized on me and when I checked online it happened to many people. I also didn't love it because I have dry skin and gravitate more towards a glowy finish.
Dior foundations oxidize. All of them period.
Not to mention the price tag for 1 oz!
She lost me at SD alcohol I think my skin would jump off and run. I am so dry
Yeah I’ve been really disappointed with Dior shades. They all oxidize to a yellow/Olivey color on me, even the neutral shades and they don’t make a cool shade at my depth level. It’s frustrating.
I have dry skin too and this one doesn't work for dry skin, I had to return it. I like a glowy finish not a matt finish. I would love a little oil in my skin, bummer it's on the dry side.

So beautiful! I wish they would leave out the chemical sunscreen and fragrance tho. Fast forward-I tried it, I loved it and the fragrance seemed light and pleasant to me!
I am on my 3rd bottle of Dior Forever Matte foundation. The best for my seventy complexion. I have tried all the high end ones and this makes my skin look better, does not settle into fine lines, won’t oxidize, and covers beautifully without looking cakey. I apply with a brush on dry skin primed with a good moisturizer. I am done! Holds up in the heat. Very little touch up powder applied six hours later. Amazing!
Thank you for your comment. I am 53 and I am just now changing how I have applied makeup since I was 13! I'm lost! I know it sounds silly but I'm scared to use a foundation brush! And which one!?! So much to learn. But definitely need to change my makeup techniques. I'm so disappointed at how I look when I apply my makeup now. Just started watching these RUclips videos and I love Angie! AMAZING!! You look awesome. The only place I didn't like it was in the sunlight. Not sure if it was just the camera? I will definitely try it out. I agree with all the comments on glowy foundation. I look like a giant headlight coming. This looks so promising!
I tried this, and it wore well on my 49 year-old combination skin but broke me out! However, I did a wear test with Dior Matte on one side of my face and the new Make Up For Ever HD on the other side, and they were indistinguishable after 12 hours. So MUFE HD is an excellent alternative for those of us with sensitive skin. You should test it out, Angie.
I want to add, I got this foundation and love it. BUT I didn't really like the brushes or sponges I used to apply it. I didn't own the BK brush Angie uses in this video, so I decided to try it.
GAME CHANGER. This BK brush is PERFECT for applying this quick-drying Dior foundation. It is very dense and moves the foundation to where you need it
Angie, thank you for this video! I, for one, am over all the "dewy" looks, because so many end up looking greasy and slimy. I can get oily during the day, so I don't use a lot of extra moisturizing or other prep products. It seems this foundation will be perfect for me!

I got this foundation about two months ago. I'm 64, oily skin and live in Brazil. Since the very first application, I couldn't believe the feeling of "clean, no makeup" face but perfect skin!
how do you keep it from oxidizing?
@@aliciashaw6746 it doesn't oxidize. At least, I didn't notice that on my skin. But I do prepare my skin with a good moisturizer and primer. I only use foundation nighttime. During the day, I can get away with tinted sunscreen 😃🌷

@@aliciashaw6746 hi! My sunscreen is Umbrella 50. I am not sure if it is sold only here in Brazil. It is very similar to the tinted Australian Gold. There is no need to set. I apply with my fingers in front of a magnifying mirror to make sure it is properly spread out and flawless. Oxidation is new for me too, but I believe it has to do with a slight change of tone after setting. Never noticed that with my Forever foundation. And the version I bought is the glow finish one, in spite of my oily skin. I noticed that matte foundations were making me look older

I’m 33, 34 in January and it turns out that lots of makeup that used to work or just be fine in your 20s no longer “work” in your 30s. I’ve always had oily skin but in my 30s I also have to moisturizer or I will get dry patches. Plus large pores and new peach fuzz. I’ve bought Tom Ford and Armani foundation and was not impressed. I just purchased this one based on this review and Im hoping it will be the one. I appreciate your honest review. I’ve never seen your channel before but with every influencer having sponsorships now it’s hard to find a product they aren’t “raving” about. You seem to be pretty hard on other foundations which I appreciate which is why I’m choosing to trust this review. Thank you again for your honest review. I am now a subscriber. 🥰

Your excitement over this foundation is contagious! I learned about this foundation about a year ago from LisaJ/BK Beauty! It has been my HG ever since, and even though they reformulated earlier this year, it’s still the same great foundation it always was.

As a long time Dior fan, I was hoping to find a Dior Forever shade and sheer match to my discontinued Dior Airflash. ... Well, was recommended the Skin Glow as my skin has become drier over time. But the Glow was too much, too dewy, as I'm more comfortable with a matte but luminous look. So, I try the Forever Matte. Hooray... Doesn't look dry matte but just flawless with just a light application. Next time applied Forever Velvet Veil Primer first. Hooray again... Think a winner!
So ladies, this matte foundation does has a bit of a luminous glow, at least for me.

So may be silly question but I did take note to you saying all you had on your face prior to this foundation was some sunscreen. Am I to assume that you did not use a toner, serum, or moisturizer (skincare routine) prior to the sunscreen? I'm kind of curious being that I follow a night and morning skin routine and would love to know if this; like wash, and do all stores in the morning is always needed

I agree with you Angie about finding a holy grail. I discovered the Lancôme Teinte Idol Ultrawear and a great shade match (310N). The new formulas for foundations is amazing. It sounds very similar to the Dior. Thanks for the review.
I just purchased this foundation today and am in love with it. I had seen this video quite some time ago and was finishing up other foundations that I had loved and thought that this was probably just another one that wouldn't be worth it. I went to Nordstrom's and a wonderful assistant color matched me and then we put the matte on one side and the glowy on the other. After walking around the mall for awhile, I went back and frankly couldn't really see a difference between the two sides. I went with the matte since I am 69 and didn't want the other to highlight my pores and texture. I haven't removed it from my face and it is 10 hours later. Both sides still look amazing. I put some on the back of my hand about 4 hours ago and the back of my hand looks smooth and refined. I might just want to bath in this stuff! For me, it is the perfect foundation and the perfect shade. I normally have a bit of trouble with shade matching as frankly, the assistants always see it differently. I have had one assistant at a counter say I am cool toned and the next one says I am warm undertoned. Who knows. I got 1.5 neutral and it is perfect. So happy.

I tried this foundation a few months ago, and I absolutely loved everything about it…. UNTIL…. sadly it caused major breakouts for me. I must be allergic to something in it unfortunately. I was so sad to return it, because it was soooo beautiful and had great longevity! 😭😭😭

I have use Dior foundation for years and it is fabulous. My one splurge, but totally worth the dollar.
Tried this and the glow one. Ended up with the glow. Matte settled into my dry spots and some lines more than the glow. I don’t have obvious wrinkles, but I have terribly dry skin especially with Retin A. The perfume smell is also pretty strong for both but it goes away pretty quickly. I found both of these don’t dry quickly or at all if you use too much. The key was to use as little as I can get away with and layer slowly.

This foundation is amazing. I dont wear makeup every day, so it is worth the cost.There is a really good color range. I usually fall between colors. There was a match for me! I'm definitely glad I went into the store and tried it on. Not only does it look good on but it feels really nice. I have normal skin that can be slightly dry occasionally. This foundation did not dry my skin out at all.

oh yes! i’ve been a lancôme teint idole user for years but the samples have me hooked! this is a superior foundation. i use very little and have great coverage; long lasting. i get some peeling from tretinoin and it doesn’t cling. it sets up fast so i use a little bit in each area-don’t try try do my whole face at once but section by section

This does sound and look really lovely. IMO It seems lot like Revlon Colorstay for oily combination skin which I always go back to even after expensive foundations. It also blurs the pores in my t-zone really well (with just a bit of powder) and is matte/long wearing with a similar finished look on top of the skincare you recommend Angie. Have you ever tested that one? It’s an oldie but a goodie!
I agree that Revlon Colorstay is an excellent foundation, especially for the price. It’s excellent!
Oh man...although I always watch Angie's foundation Friday, Colorstay has been my go to for many years. They had a whipped formula in a jar for a few years which was my absolute favorite but it was discontinued.
Dior was my go to, but recently forgot foundation on a trip and purchased Revlon Colorstay for dry skin. It’s fabulous
I’m 58 with normal to dry skin. A great affordable option to keep on hand
Do you all use a primer for the Revlon? Is it acne safe?
@@nancysilva9701 I don’t use any primer, just some of the skincare Angie recommends beforehand including the cerave moisturiser and a hydrating sunscreen. I’m not sure about acne safe I’m afraid but it doesn’t break me out. I use it mainly in my t Zone to cover redness and only sparingly elsewhere so it’s not too heavy.
I really have to thank you for recommending this foundation. I have tried so many others and even some of my favorites have some sort of 'weakness', i.e. not long wearing, too little/too much coverage, emphasizes wrinkle, etc. This foundation is perfect. I wore it all day, every day while on 3 week trip and never had any issues with dryness, despite the alcohol content. I love that it is no fuss - no primer, setting spray or any elaborate skin preparation. Definitely my holy grail!
My holy grail thus far has been the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation so I’m excited to try the DIOR one after your review!

Your skin looks great. I cannot bring myself to use a highly scented foundation. I am very sensitive to scents and prefer unscented products when possible.
I tried the Dior foundation, and yes, it is amazing. Disappointingly, the fragrance made me nauseous so I had to return it. Why do these cosmetics companies think he want a heavy, perfumey smell on our FACE? I am sensitive to chemicals and the fragrance made it a no-go for me.

I am 69 and going to York, to buy some on Saturday. I live in Scarborough, England, UK, on the East coast, and I have made an appointment for a skin match in York. When you live in Scarborough, you have to travel at least 50 miles to get to a shop that will help you with make-up! Here's hoping.
