Correct, that's where I bought my wheel from. We have a store about an hour away, but I also order online since their shipping is reasonable. I love that store!
The funny thing is, I was not allowed to put the mailbox where I wanted. The mail lady had to come by and put a flag exactly where she wanted it and specify the height to accommodate her vehicle. So it's installed to her exact requirements.
You’re fortunate that the wheels on your finishing mower have grease zerks. Mine doesn’t on my LMC. I also would like to tell you that you should look into getting a Lock N Lube grease coupler… greasing made easy!!
Venomous snakes are not welcome near our living quarters and buildings, especially having a little dog that doesn't know better. Non venomous are welcome to help keep mice and rats under control. When I was younger I thought a good snake was a dead snake, funny how things change as you get older and start truly understanding and appreciating things.
Hey got to see those Little Pines you planted, looking good should get what 3 ft a year growth? We are cutting Big trees down right now, then will be milling them for Table Slab, we build a wood drier and now can do the whole thing, from tree to table, what are those Oaks that you string lined around? I like the Pines along the drive also, going fishing Sat., a friend told me the Reds are on.Have a great Weekend.
Those pines usually sit dormant the first year, grow slowly the second year and then explode the third year. I'd be curious to know about your drier, is it homemade? If you refering to the oaks in our yard, they are shumard oaks, grow extremely fast and provide great shade. They are only 2-3 years old and are taking off in growth. Good luck with the fishing, I'm hearing good reports from guys at work.
Well I have a lot of miles on it and I do run it quite fast. However I see your point, hopefully I don't have any other issues. We were getting rain every few days, now we are in a drought again with fires popping up in the area. Feast or famine!
I've worked hard over the years establishing that pasture, however the type of grass in it now is very resilient. Once established, you just about can't kill this grass even if you tried. We are very fortunate to have plenty of sunshine, good soil and rain here.
I run it in a lot of equipment and use to run it in my car. It's very expensive, but I did notice a slight increase in mpg and it seems to not break down as quickly. To be honest I'm ocd about maintenance and oil changes. I always change my oil well before its recommended, so I find myself not being able to justify the extra expense of it.
How fast are you going when you mow? I'm curious as to the MPH. I'm looking to upgrade my tractor and move to a rear finish mower. Want something to cover a lot of ground fast, but still mow nice.
I'm mowing 7 mph, but the cut suffers at that speed. In a yard I would slow down 1-2 mph and you should get a great cut. Most yards are not smooth enough to run 7 mph anyway.
Can that shaft be extended so the deck will be raised so the cutting height will stay a consistent height, say 8 or 10"? I'm looking for a deck to cut clover fields. Here in Tn, in the same town as Stephen Tucker killed his buck. Only a quarter mile away. That can be as often as you cut, that's why I'm asking you haha
I just measured, 6 inches is about the most you are getting with the wheels on the ground. You would have to lift it in the air with your 3pt to get your 8-10 inches.
I prefer the finish strickly because I don't care if I rough cut this field and because the finish mower is about a foot and a half larger cut. Otherwise thicker grass is cut a little better by the flail mower. Short grass is probably cut better by the finish mower.
@@Joey-ve7ku honestly the flail is just as easy on the tractor power requirements wise. The finish is more convenient because it's on wheels and can be spun around without lifting it up.
Why not Bale that into hay? Another income stream. If not I'd personally get livestock to help fertilize and mow it for you. 1 thing at a time i guess. I can tell you're plenty busy.
I covered it in other episodes, everyone does hay around here and it's not worth much. Hard to convince someone to haul a bunch of equipment over for 10 acres. Hay equipment is extremely expensive and something I can't justify. I planted this field strictly for livestock. We planned on putting animals out there this year, but the tornado and rebuilding is a financial hit that might keep us from doing livestock soon.
Nice job! Good work getting the bride involved in the mowing chores! ; )
She's outside natured just like me, she will probably keep mowing just to be outdoors and to get a tan.
Good repair on your wheel. Those estate mowers do a great job! Take care.
Thanks!
Agri-supply sells parts for those mowers. That's a lot of mowing. Great video, stay safe.

Sounds like a 4mix Stihl trimmer. I have one. It's been good to me. Loving these low humidity days in sunny FL. Grass looks great!
Thanks, yes it is a stihl 4mix, they have a unique sound. It's a Fs90r that I've had forever, been a fantastic trimmer.
@@TKCL same one I have!
Damn my mail deliver would throw my mail in the ditch if my mail box was that far down the ditch. I'd be picking off the ground lol great video

I got that coupler along with a DeWalt 20 volt grease gun. Best combo on the planet. Makes greasing fun!
@@TKCL I have the Legacy battery powered grease gun from Tractor Supply. I love it also. Especially with the Lock N Lube!
Beautiful place
Thank you, feel blessed to have it.
Love my 6’ LMC (Lowery Manufacturing, Boaz, Alabama) finishing mower made by Shaktiman Agro in India!
Glad you left the snake alone, he is your fiend. Your place looks good.

Disappointing to see that from a new ish finishing mower. Mine has been solid as a rock. Great content, wish we had some of that rain here in Ireland.

My 72" Caroni 3 point hitch finish mower is 32 years old, I mow 5 acres Still mowing Great!!
Awesome
You should go back and forth, get down to end, reverse and head back. A big field like that would look great striped.
You should see it truly stripped with my flail mower, it has a roller. It looks amazing!
@@TKCL I do it in some of my fields I don’t make hay… with a Fendt 724 and a 12’ Maschio Bufalo flail. Nobody sees it but me, but I love how it looks!
I'm jealous of your grass. On my place we only get grass if we baby and water it, otherwise it is sunflowers and tumbleweeds.

Great video, like always. When the grass is short like it was before you mowed in this video, do you prefer to use the finish mower than the flail?
