A salchow is deceptively SUPER hard! The hardest thing about that jump, to me is not “spinning” the jump. That jump requires much more checking than you would think.
Congratulations Sparkle Skater!! So awesome 2A. It is really beautiful!! I am working on single axel. From your tips, I will try to do ten-fifteen on each session as now I only try three-five. Hopefully single axel will come back to me with new skates. Great to see how you are skating!! #GlideTrue
Congratulations! !! Make me feel so well see people like you working hard but also enyoing skating. I feel jelous because this year cant skate on ice .Anyway I Will see you by RUclips. All the Best for you.
I'm not learning any of these jumps yet. The only jumps I can do right now are a normal jump and side toe hop. I haven't even learned a waltz jump yet, but hopefully I will soon. I'm so happy that you've finally got your double axel. Keep up the amazing work.
I’m still working on my singles as well. I don’t know how old you are, but I started skating when I was 30, so my progress has been super slow. Keep in mind that you will mostly learn your jumps in a progression: waltz jump, then salchow and toe loop, then flip and loop, then lutz, then axel. Jumps take a long time to learn and to get consistent (lots of falling involved), so don’t give up!
Thanks for your support I started about two years ago at age 23. My progression has been a pretty slow process too. I'm hoping I can do a solo at our Christmas show this year. When I go back to the rink next month, I'm going to ask our director if I can. Wish me luck. And I wish you the best of luck with your progression in this sport too.
I struggle to land my single axel consistently and I can only land 1 double jump and dang double jumps are frickin hard to do Update: I can now land my single axel consistently yay!
Hey Jasmine! I want to ask whether you had your 2A off ice when you started it on ice? If no, how much it was underrotated? Half, 1/4 or even more? Thanks
This video inspired me to keep practicing! I'm too impatient. If you don't mind me asking, how long was the process?! Thanks for your awesome content ☺️
Wowww I can get over how much of an amazing skater you are I’m 13 and still can’t do a double axel like landing it is impossible!!!!! Lysm jazmin #sparklesquad ⛸⛸⛸⛸⛸💕💕💕💕
I do doubles, the only unhealthy thing about falling w/ out butt pads is that it HURTS! But, It really isn't ''unhealthy'' I once forgot my pads. My teacher didn't care, She still makes me do doubles w/ out them! :)
Ok thank you both so much. I am working on singles/half jumps and falling can really hurt haha. And i was worried that it could cause damage but if it doesn’t go beyond the hurting I guess that’s ok 😂😂
D. L. i skate with butt AND knee pads (which is kind of embarrassing, but oh well). i think when you start learning multi-rev jumps (including a single axel) it’s helpful to wear pads because with each new jump you learn, you’re practically throwing yourself on the ice until you get the feel of it. i still try to skate once or twice a week without pads because i think it’s good to practice without them too, like you would in competition.
I’m an adult skater here (39), and once I get back onto the ice when my back is healed from a spasm, I will be back to working on all of my single jumps. I landed three new jumps this past season (loop, flip, and lutz), but I want to get them much more consistent-and get my back scratch spin-before I start work on my axel. BTW, I’m a leftie skater. Where are my other lefties at on here?
Wow, thanks so much for even responding! You’re a huge inspiration to me and I love your outlook on everything! You have such a positive attitude and always push yourself to do that one thing! Love you most ❤️❤️❤️
The double axel is difficult, in my opinion I think it's harder than some triples.
That was amazing, your control by skate so professional.. I hope you more success in future
Your doing great Jasmine! Your so graceful on the ice! Luv ya!
Wow this is so cool! Ive only landed my 2A once and working on triples, I feel the pain 😂👍
I love it! I am just starting my axel but i hope i can get as good height as you can eventually. Also i love the first song
I’m working on axel!
Great job!
I can not do even a single Axel! You are so good and so talent!
Well done. The double axel is a hard jump, keep up the good work 👏
I’m struggling on my single salchow 😖

Exactly I keep on spinning before I actually jump 😂

when did you start ice skating? And how old are you? :)
3, but now she’s 17
good job! 👏🏻💕
Violet Burger Thank you!
Great Progress! 👏👏 Did you use a butt pad? Is it healthy to fall consistently without a butt pad?
I don’t use a butt pad but I don’t do double axels my coach said that when I got into harder jumps like axels I should get butt pads
I do doubles, the only unhealthy thing about falling w/ out butt pads is that it HURTS! But, It really isn't ''unhealthy'' I once forgot my pads. My teacher didn't care, She still makes me do doubles w/ out them! :)
