    • @MasterSwo
      @MasterSwo 2 года назад +1

      One thing you might have forgotten to mention is that, while on paper, the G-Cannon was superior to the Heavygun in every way, in practice, it's performance was actually LESS then it should have been.
      This is because when they produced it, AE used ready made in house parts rather then producing the SNRI approved ones, which dragged the G-Cannons stat-line down a few bars.
      Whether AE did this to save time and money, out of spite towards SNRI or both, I'll let you decide.

    • @BioGoji-zm5ph
      @BioGoji-zm5ph 2 года назад +1

      @@MasterSwo Don't forget that when both cannons were mounted, the F71 G-Cannon couldn't turn its head very well either. Not enough space between the head and the barrels. Although, it *was* capable of operating without the cannons attached, as seen during the Crossbone's incursion into Frontier 4 early in the film when an F-71 G-Cannon is seen without the cannons while holding a beam rifle. It's easy to mistake for a Heavygun at first, until you notice the wrist-guns on the side, along with the red lines on the chest above the front vents and along the sides of the torso, both of which the Heavygun lacks.

    No matter the generation in the UC, the main way to fix an outdated MS is to make a Full Armor or Full Equipment type and just toss everything available onto the said MS. When in doubt, just add more guns.

      The sad thing is that the Heavygun is one of my favorite Mass Production units but also one of the worst in terms of combat records. I didn't think it would be super High on the list but seeing how it actually did beyond the Anime actually makes it look almost as bad as the GM II. That's saying something, if the GM II is the Yamcha of the GM lineage this thing is arguably the Tien. Still better in a lot of ways but definitely carried by the skills of the pilot rather than the unit. The one thing I can say about the GM II is that it at least had an excuse for it's bad combat record and all things considered it wasn't nearly as bad as the Anime made it look.
      The Heavygun is the exact opposite in that it's way better on paper but it's always on the back foot and no amount of techniques can save it from being wildly overpowered and pushed out of the fight. No matter how many weapons it gets, the core itself just can't use them as effectively as anyone else can and it gets murdered.

    The.Heavygun was basically. A all.new production Jegan normal type with the legacy tech removed. AE basically took the newer reactor used by the Jegan and made a smaller modern body around it. Basically any improvement in performance is because the old body was finally hitting it's limit with upgrades.

    I came here looking for development history on the Full Armor Gundam and the Heavy Gundam but didnt find one on your channel. I was lead to this video by RUclips and it refers to a different set of MS. Could you please do a development history on the FA Gundam, Heavy Gundam, FA Gundam Ground Type, and others in the Full Armor project by the Federation?

    Miniturized mobile suites come at the cost of armor, and matinance costs. This means that in the long run miniaturized mobile suties will end up costing you more in the long run.

    I never really think of f91 and victory as UC cannon anymore because of Unicorn The federation had new and improved mass produced mobile suits The Rezal Was the reason why i do not think that the whole idea That the Jegan was still being used but the Rezal was not also Why was the heavygun the only mobile suit that was up to date

    Honestly, it sounds really stupid to put the G-Cannon, an MS that is surprisingly far better than the Heavygun is put in back line combat duties instead. And I cannot imagine the MS developers despite acknowledging this but still anyway put them in artillery and just went like, *”NAH IT’LL BE FINE”*

    The reason the Heavygun made up bulks for federation MS than the G cannon because it was not a mummy killer with his shells and leaving baby alone. 6.22 Is approximately the scene that occur.

    The fact that SNRI just show up, poop out a first product that ended up lasting for decades that they can't even MANUFACTURE, and just thoroughly trouncing the AE presentation is hilarious.
    One part Accuracy International fiasco, two parts Gundam bullshit, one complete punchline.
